Hello
I've been using a Sanguinololu on a prusa mendel i2 since mid 2012 with excellent results. I was interested in upgrading to a dual extruder. I found the "SLUM" project but not any of the hardware for sale. Is there something (aside from replacing the board) that people are doing to upgrade to dual extruder from this board?

I have turned on temperature smoothing in sprinter. I have had better results with not a lot of testing.
The reading was "noisy" and possibly jumped up past the 275 max and triggered a failsafe. I have completed 3 prints since then.
If I have time tomorrow i will try again with a specific gcode that killed the temperature in the same spot multiple time.

Hello I am also experiencing this issue
The temperature cuts off at the same spot each time. I have checked the gcode and there are no commands to change/kill the temperature at the point where it gets cut off.
It is not a wiring issue as all you have to do is send the command to set the temperature again.
This has happened with both pronterface and repetier with 2 different versions of s

I had an issue which manifested itself in the same gross way, but only along the y axis. My glass/tape build plate was loose and would move a little every time the y axis jerked back and forth. Securing my clips fixed this. Gulf is right to suspect that something

Hello All
I was hoping tosimply make the y print opposite, the firmware settings did not do that. I trien many settings (http://www.thefrankes.com/wp/?p=2651 was one) but nothing made it work the way I wanted.
I have just reversed the pins in the wiring and put the endstop at the far side. Thank you for providing the correct orientation and all your help. I get the feeling I should have ne

Hello Polygonhell
Just to be clear on home:
"Front Left" is the position of the board relative to the machine and the nozzle is "rear left"(like starting a page in a book)?
--the alternative is that the board is "rear left" relative to the machine and the nozzle is "front left"
In regards to inverting the y axis in the firmware:

Hello Enlightx
Where might one find the settings in the firmware and what are they named? Should the y motor be in the front? Is my home position correct of should the print board be as far away from me as possible?

Hello
Setup: Prusa Mendel i2/sanguinololu 1.3/sprinter/slic3r
Just realized my printer is printing a mirror image of everything. When looking at my printer:
Y motor + endstop is in the front
X motor + endstop is to the left
Z motors on the top, endstop on the bottom (betting this is correct)
When in the home position, the build plate is all the way to the front and all the way to the left

Printing
Hello
My current issue is that when heating the tip prior to print, there is excessive runoff from the nozzle. Not a huge issue to wipe clean, but when I start to print, the first few segments do no have enough PLA material to make a line and just form sticky dots. I have combated this by creating a nice thick 3-pass skirt. Is there another way to fix this?

Update: - 11 years ago
Hello All
As an update to this thread for future generations:
When ordering a new atmega644p or 1284p, it will not come with a boot loader (unless specified). This mean you can not upload the firmware via the sanguino.
The boot loader needs to be burned using a separate piece of hardware, after which the firware can be uploaded.
google "sanguinololu bootloader" for details. USBtiny works

Hello Eniq1on
I'm glad that this is plug and play. It was not clear to me that the ADC was in the atmega chip. Thanks for the prompt and courteous reply.

Sanguino(lolu)
Hello
I have the same problem. I need a bit more instruction to help myself. Would someone knowledgeable please write out a step-by-step guide for those experiencing this same problem?
Useful info:
Which chip
Where to buy (how much?)
Perhaps a diagram of location on board
Any useful tips about removing it and replacing it
