Extremely imaginative. The counterweight made me smile is there more to it than a printed lump? Is the front of the saw weighted? If you alter the throw of the eccentric bits you would improve cutting speed by not lifting the blade quite as much on the back stroke.
Very nice work.

I am impressed with your work. The rotary delta and scara designs especially. The cartesian design sits on the edge of being a cnc mini mill. Have you used it for that purpose?

We cant assume all readers on this site are men. For me the"humor ' in the Drumph comment was the mental image of a clueless know it all grabbing a hot extruder aggressively and getting his tiny hands burned.

Another often overlooked issue with these Phoenix type connector is not stripping the wire far enough back when inserting it into the connector or stuffing the wire into the connector so far that it partially clamps down on the insulation. This has the effect of reducing the surface area of exposed copper inside the wire clamp and increasng the resistance. What is shown in your picture is thermal

A shorted driver chip on the extruder motor circuit can also make it difficult to turn the motor by hand. Even with the power off. A rudimentary check is to power down the machine and disconnect it. If the extruder motor cannot be turned by hand, unplug it from the electronics noting which way the connector is oriented and try rotating the motor. If it rotates with low effort when disconnected ,

I am as much inspired by the process details you provided as the undertaking itself . I was especially keen on your statement about your willingness to share the idea while acknowleging the sad reality of those with no regard for intellectual property taking this to market without your participation or approval.
I also like that you made use of off the shelf nozzles.
Keep up the good work!

Have you tried selective use of freeze spray on the board? Even canned air sold as a dust removal agent at Staples can work if you hold the can upside down . NOTE You must have the applicator straw in place and use short directed bursts.

RAMPS Electronics
Hello all,
I have successfully run more than 10 kilos of pla through my printer velleman k8200 since building it 7 months ago, thanks in no small part to this forum. There have been no mods or replacement of electronics to this point, with the exception of a beefier power supply.
Prior to this bizarre failure, the printer would home smoothly on all axes but when trying to print the machine so

Absolutely inspired and inspiring. The vertical core xy as shown would seem to be space efficient as well increasingthe build envelope in the same footprint.

Assuming that the table arrives as a flat pack and needs to be assembled, why not just consider it a source of raw material and eliminate the assembly hardware and either:
1) have the frame pieces welded together
or
2) design a series of gusset plates to reinforce the corners that are through bolted on both sides of each corner.
Just a thought.

Hello,
The latest Slic3r 1.11(?) has several variables in the support and infill area including support spacing and the ability to print pillars for support. There are multiple areas where the user adjustable variables are interdependent this interdependence is not made very clear from the brief pop up windows that appear.
Printing is more art than science IMHO, so learning through experimenta

Here is what I have done >
Using a sharp drill bit and just finger torque on the bit I spin it back and forth between my fingers on the inside of the nozzle. DO NOT use a power tool for this.
McMaster Carr also sells the high speed steel drill bits in the .5 mm size i needed to clean out the end of the nozzle. This drill requires a pin vise and patience. Again work from inside the nozzle, t

Hello everyone,
Is anyone out there in the Northern New Jersey / Metro New York Area? I live in Sussex County and work in NYC. Currently, I am running a Velleman K8200, primarily to make engineering design prototypes for my day job. I have experience in AutoDesk Inventor and electro mechanical design.
