My 1.2.0 was working pretty well, but it choked and locked up on a simple key-chain item- and that was with the crossing perimeters set correctly. I don't know what it is that makes it go so slow. I almost feel like some setting gets goofy, the code gets corrupted or something and instead of an error you never get the G code. Re-installing and starting from scratch for settings has helped in t

I've been doing something similar. I use acteone and some ethyl acetate as the solvent. I do about 100g of ABS and 150 grams of Acteone and stir it up with a wooden popsicle stick. I stir it up a few times over 12 hours. When it seems like I have it pretty well dissolved (really check the bottom) i add the ethyl acetate. It is in hardware stores as "M.E.K Substitute". I'd rather have MEK, b

I have a #500ish Filastruder and I've been happy with the support on Solidfoum. Tim is very active there and answers a lot of questions. 3D printing is new, personal extruders are even newer. You have to be comfortable with a little ambiguity. It took me awhile to get mine tweaked in, but the last run went well, good consistency, clean filament with the melt filter. I like buying things lik

Would it be possible to have bridges have a 'run up' so where the bridge is started is a bit before the bridge itself. I think that would let the extruder get to a more steady state and give a purer run rather than kind of tacking on the bridge. I notice that bridges that include perimeters seem to work better than ones in the middle of something.

What if you had the perimeters offset in the Z by 1/2 the layer height? That way the outer layer would be 'spooned' by the inner layer. Instead of having layers just touching at tangentially, they would fit into the 'groove' formed by the other perimeter, almost like tongue and groove. Lots more surface area, less gaps for cracks to propagate from.
Just google search 'stacked pipes' for image

Did it fix it? 238 is hot. Mine looks like yours when I went too slow- but I was a lot slower than that.
Don't you want to use thicker layers? I just put a .8 on my PB+ and it works pretty well at that thickness.
I'm at 220C with 1.75 filament. The optimum window for the material seems to be very small on with the T-Glase. About 8mm/s at 215 gave frosty results, but 220 at about 4mm/sec

I'm surprised that they let you select zero if loops is greater than one.
If you say no loops but skirt 1 layer, I don't think it freaks out, actually that is how it says to turn it off. Seems like it should be the other way around. Do you want a skirt and how tall, oh, by the way, how many loops do you want it to be thick.

Holy Oddness Batman. So I started mucking around and went back to the -default- settings that I haven't used in year. With those it sliced perfectly. I started adding back in the three different config files that caused the crash. Narrowed it down to the 'Print Settings'. I started changing the values back to default and running the slice. Crash, close, re-open and change a couple more.

I've been having issues with Slic3r for the past few months. Crashes, extremely slow slices (and yes, I have avoid crossing perimeters turned off). I have 1.2.0 and I ask it to slice a simple car holder and it does nothing. I press the export G-code, it asks where to put it and it just sits there. I don't get green bar or anything. If I press "export G-code" again, it tells me that it is wor

I was looking at this too. The main issue it seems is that the very reason people want POM is for its rigidness and that makes it hard to use as a filament, with I guess 3mm worse than 1.75? I see that McMaster-Carr has some rods that might be able to be used on a 3MM machine (7/64-2,78mm). My thought was that you take something near the diameter of that you want and then you emboss the filame

Sorry. Mac Book Pro with the latest OS. How do I clean it off and start again?
Why does Slic3r show up like it is a USB drive in the Finder window??

I had trouble with Slic3r taking hours to slice something and them often the g-code was garbage. I was in a time crunch and I read the posts about newer versions being slower, do I tried to install an older version 0.9.x in lace of my 1.0.x (I forget the exact versions) and not only didn't it help, both versions were on the computer, but neither of them would run. I get errors as soon as it trie
