As I'm trying to diy my own printer , as using all part from my old prusa and it's kind of stuck on this last part, the printer while moving will create some loud noise and when it stop there is no noise, the stepper driver no heat so it's not tuning problem, it can move but in a very slow step which not suppose to be. I'm using nema 17 stepper and mks motherboard.

Ax, im sorry which you love Migbot so much, frankly i didn't find that one is a good piece as from time after time it will have problem which i have notice, as for the MK 8 extruder which come with it, i didn't have jam and use on daily base, this is the truth, E3D V6 i do have it and i also have the replica one, i really found no much different in them, for replica one you just need to do some w

agree E3DV6 is a very good hotend and no pain in ass. i would say MK8 type i have no issue on it, no blockage after i come up the way of using of course it troublesome to keep cleaning the throat with ABS but i will never say it's not good, I would say all hotend have good and bad and the only issue is how you use, that's all.

veaceonee , the retract only can be max at 2.5mm-3.5mm why i don't go lower or hight because if i lower the print will have alot of spider web which i don't like. if too much it's will jam at throat as for the retraction speed, please only 20-30 not more as it will cause too much issue, let have an example if the heat up the filament will be soft and when you put in too fast it will jam. this i

Forgot to say one more things for throat replica there are too many type, always remember different supplier, different quality, different size. So it's really hard to get the right one. Please measure and let me know the size. So at least have a better idea.

veaceonee, one things about wood filament it very easy to get stuck on the tube and whenever i print using wood i would use ABS filament and heat the nozzle up to 245 to clean the throat before print (spent a little time and you may save the future trouble) and nozzle. as attach is the throat should be 0.8-2mm distance the max. please upload the picture so will be easier for me to guide you!

veaceonee , can you take a photo and also are you using filament that include metal or wood or glow in dark? by the way what brand you using?

veaceonee , have you put PTFE inside the throat? as there are many different factor, like no PTFE, filament not pure, or maybe the throat inside have some small metal chip which the manufacturer didn't do a nice job. if because of last one, do check these point which is common issue.

this is also one of the possibility which haven't the loud sound because of too high voltage. and i feel if your stepper is too hot also may due to voltage too high, try turning the silver screw and remember there must be no sound when not moving.,

if you wanted to change a stepper it's not a really easy task, it may seem easy, as their are a few things you need to take notes:
1.) you have to check your motherboard current, as one part is change the current may change and motherboard may not be able to handle, don't think power bigger better, think whether is it neccessary.
2.) after you attach you have to test the heat on your stepper if
