Update: Got tired of all the reading and messing around. Figured I would have to replace something regardless so I said *(#&%()@*#$&% it and swapped my blue and green wire from standard wiring at the motor. Motor works fine and is extruding and stepping quietly. Thanks for looking into it and the all the responses!

Everything was working last week except extrusion was starting to go south. But it was still extruding.....randomly.
I work in HVAC so I troubleshoot alot and try the quick simple stuff first. I checked with a new harness on old motor and new.
What amps should I be getting? Checked red and black wires to motor, would climb to .23A but then drop back to 0A.
I've adjusted the steps down, adjust

New motor runs but just alternates directions. It had started to move in a normal direction for about a second or two but then back to alternating. Old motor moves but will find flat spots and stop running or just runs rough. I can't spin the old motor by hand. New motor spins freely but with some resistance. Wiring is same as before. Used same wiring harness and reconnected.
I also tried a Z ax

So since trying to fix my last problem with my layers shifting, my extruder motor started to shudder and alternate rotation. It will not go either directions. I've reloaded the firmware, adjusted drivers, replaced drivers, adjusted again drivers and replaced extruder motors. Still sits and shudders. I changed out my drivers again with green ones and now my original motor works but the new motor j

Replaced heating element and sensor in hotend. I also uograded the springs previously. Saw a noticable improvement. No more twist but other prints are still shifting towards the top. Will try rotating it. Thanks for the input.

Snugged up pulleys and set screws. Adjusted a few settings, mainly height and width in slicer. Now it's twisting. Next model will be a little taller. Heat is at 190* C.

Been having this issue from print 1. Layers start to drift then drifts back to place randomly in the prints usually towards the top end of a print. Between the two pics I changed my extruder feed rate from 93 to 100. That seemed to help with the irregular surface but I still get the drift. What can I calibrate? I've adjusted the Polulu pots. I don't mess with the code at all, I have a nonducted c

Hey guys, new user. Searched for an answer to this but can't find exactly what I'm looking for. Bought an i3 kit for my first printer. Running Marlin Pronterface. It's built, everything runs endstops work homing works, extruder and hotbed heat up, hotbed reads 31* at ambient (its in my garage), extruder reads 0. I had to replace the heater and the thermistor with this Thermistor. Tested out the b
