I trust reputable businesses. Sabic, the maker of Ultem, also makex Lexan, among other plastics. You may have heard of them. They have a reputation to withhold.
As well, your products are targeted at $200 machines. None of them are useful on industrial grade 3D printers. So, who are your customers again?

It's not that I cannot afford your products, it's that I don't feel they are worth what you are asking for them. Your only success seems to be selling to people with very little experience in the 3D printing world.
You are right that Ultem is a proprietary blend of PEI, but I think that other companies do manufacture PEI. Also, proprietary is not a strong enough word for your PrintBite product.

I've had good success with TPU on PEI. It does stick (a little bit too) well, but is manageable and the surface can be cleaned fine. It is possible and practical to print TPU onto PEI, as long as you expect it to be attached fairly well. The flexible and strong nature of TPU lends itself to being removed with brute force without significant risk of damage to print or print surface.

The PrintBite seems to have an advantage with Nylon, and other high temp materials, but I'm not sure if that's really the case or marketing fluff and misinformation provided from inexperienced users. Most "serious" DIY 3d printer builders I know use PEI, but I could see a use for PrintBite if you ONLY printed Nylon. I still have my doubts how well it holds onto REAL nylon, and not the easy to pri

I'm trying to troubleshoot someone's 0.8.5 that they couldn't get to see on their network. I have it hooked up to my network, and I have changed the MAC address in config.g, but it seemingly doesn't take effect. When it connects, it messes up the IP address for my other duet (that has the default beefdeadfeed mac). When I disconnect my duet that works, connect the problem duet, it shows up with a

I've noticed PEI takes on greasy fingerprints and doesn't let go, even after cleaning with solvents. Use sandpaper. I use 600 or 800 grit. It leaves a nice matte finish and really cleans all the crap off the bed. Don't ever touch the bed with your fingers if you can avoid it (especially if they're greasy).
PLA should stick to the clean PEI at any speed with a surface temperature around 60 degree

When it comes to comparing volumetric flow of a fluid, why are you choosing to cite the "surface area" of an opening?
More important is volume of the shroud; more important still is the non-turbulent flow of the fluid through the shroud, and the geometry of the fluid path itself.

One thing to be careful of, is that files made in openscad are basically doomed to only be useful in openscad. Real parametric cad software outputs to common formats like STEP or IGES, whereas AFAIK, openscad only outputs STL (and usually, very low resolution because users don't know better or don't care).

Oh, and as for the bed dropping, I haven't accounted for that yet. I probably, won't to be honest. On my delta, since I put the extruder on the effector, it has tendency to drop if the motors cut out, so I'll just keep the motors energized after a print like I do currently on my delta. It might also be worth putting some shock dampers at the bottom.

My thoughts about the backlash were the same, and so I originally designed my printer around ball screw no 1. I'm starting to second guess myself, but 5 microns of error in Z is really not going to be noticeable anyway, even if the weight of the bed didn't cancel it out, is it? What effect on the extrusion width would 5 microns of vertical error have?

So I've narrowed down my z axis to two choices for ball screw:
1) 2 mm lead, c5 accuracy with a 0.005 mm backlash. This screw gives 10 micron full step layers (or 5 micron with 0.9 steppers), and 330-340 mm of usable z travel.
2) 5 mm lead, c3 accuracy with zero backlash. This screw gives 25 micron full step layers (or 12.5 micron with 0.9 steppers), and 315-325 mm of usable z travel.
