Hi all,
I have a gCreate gMax 2 (https://www.gcreate.com/gmax-2) and it's essentially a big RepRap machine: Uses Marlin 1.1.9, uses RAMPs and an Arduino, etc.
I just recovered from a blown trace on the back board (power management and routing?). At first I was getting M600 errors, but those have apparently disappeared. Motion is fine, lights work, all commands check out okay but the extruder w

NOW its reading -26 degrees and giving me a fatal error that it failed to heat.
EDIT 11/14/19: Found the problem here, replaced and fixed.

Yeah its been flipped when I flipped the heatblock. Still getting the same jam every time.

I'm interested in this too, as mine seems to do this after a while as well.

Flipped it, I can manually push filament through and sometimes get the extruder to push filament through but it seems to jam after a while. I'm thinking its the settings for the speed of the stepper motor on the extruder. Nozzle and heatbreak are clear.

I'll try flipping it, I installed it the direction it came in so I was assuming that at least would be correct.

I've come to the conclusion that the nozzle is misdrilled and its getting caught up in the misalignment between aperture and feed section. I'm going to order a new nozzle and install that, see if that works. If not then I really don't know what to do. Unless the thermistor is reporting an incorrect temperature and I'm trying to cold extrude by accident.
Thanks for the help!

I'll try replacing the nozzle and maybe the heatbreak and see. I think theres a jam in there now anyway. I'm going to get genuine E3D stuff. Is titanium worth it for the heatbreak?

So, I got it to extrude a little! Maybe 2 inches? Then, it jammed again like before. But hey, progress. Is there a chance the Bowden extruder isn't pushing hard enough on the filament?

I'm hoping not, and to get this thing working. I don't want to have wasted $20, and I'd like to salvage it if I can. Perhaps a titanium heatbreak and new nozzle?

Tried to follow the directions here on E3D's wiki and rebuild it and I'm still getting the same result. I'm starting to think I need to spend the money and just get a new nozzle, which sucks. I'm fairly certain it isn't clogged, it oozes a little bit out the end so there's something passing through, just not anywhere near what you need to print. I torqued the nozzle down pretty good, like they sa

Nope, waiting till it hits 185 before extruding. I have cold-extrusion prevention turned on. I even tried to heat it to 230, the ABS preset, and it didn't work either. I have a small reel of old Makerbot Light Grey PLA and a Robo3D Glow in the Dark PLA Kilo roll. Both result in the same type of jam.

Here they are, hopefully they can tell you something. Its just an E3D v6 clone from a few years ago. I know there's some ooze on the hotend nozzle, I'll clear that away next time it heats up.
Need any more angles/shots?

Yes, that's running when its hot. That's why I'm a little stumped.

Figured out where the new problem is, thanks for the help!

Firmware - Marlin
Hello, I'm trying to get an E3D v6 Clone working on my Funbot i1. However, the filament keeps jamming/clogging in the hotend the same way every time (pictured in the attachment). I've tried two different filaments to no avail. Now, admittedly they are very old reels so I'm not sure if age is a factor here. They weren't stored in any particular way so I'm thinking moisture got into them and that's

Got it back to running motion properly and screen is back to normal, many thanks!
However there's one final problem; the extruder seems to be under extruding or not feeding fast enough, any insight into how to fix that?
#define DEFAULT_MAX_ACCELERATION (4500, 4500, 50, 3200)
Should I double 3200 and see what happens?

You replaced the brain of your printer with a new brain, but didn't teach it anything about the body it was in...
You need to configure the firmware to match your hardware.
See, I thought I did. I have all my settings ported over, all should be okay. Also when I send M119 I get every endstop reading TRIGGERED. I can upload the configuration tomorrow, but that still doesn't explain the

Aaaaaand now the motion is totally broken. Ignoring endstops, placing endstop 0.00 at the furthest end of travel, etc. Should I just make a new topic, or just keep dumping my sorrows here?

I updated to 1.1.9 just to see if that would compile, and it did!
But now my graphic controller is heavily artifacted and I'm not sure where the issue is. There were no issues in compiling, no error messages, so now I'm not sure what's what.

Hello!
I'm getting the following error on compiling the marlin firmware for my printer (Marlin 1.1.3):

I'm in central new jersey, I think it is a pc04-m5 from what I've gathered. Now I just gotta get a hold of them.

Did you get it figured out?

I have the axis control fixed, so it moves and will go through the motion of printing but extrusion still eludes me. I'm positive that it's the missing bowden coupler on the extruder that's causing a lack of pressure. I'm using the Compact Bowden Extruder from Thingiverse so I have to find out where to get a fitting that will fit it.
Any though

I posted about this a year ago, and due to life being life, I am just getting back to this project now. My Z axis motor doesn't seem to move at all, and the X axis sounds like it's just skipping and it isn't moving. It's been a frustrating project, honestly. I have the Y axis moving appropriately, so I don't know why the other two won't move. Also, the extruder won't seem to take the filament int

Nuked it, restarted from scratch, got it up. However, now I have serious issues with my motors/end stops, and Z not moving at all. I've probably gotta change the motor settings in places.

I am not a programmer by any means. So this mess? I'm lost.
I've been working on my Funbot i1 for over a year now. It's been a slow process, saving where I can and doing as much from scratch as I could. But now it seems Marlin hates me.

Wasn't sure where to ask, but the Y and X switches on my Funbot just broke right off during assembly. They're the makerbot style, they still work but now the axes can't hit the end stop.
I really don't want to replace perfectly functional switches for a cheap tin lever. Maybe extend the endstop actuator points on the machine to compensate and still hit?
Also was not sure where to post this so

Out of curiosity, how's the Xbox power supply hooked up? I've got a few laying around, would definitely save me money on a power supply.

So, I'm much more a fan of being able to hunt down my parts at shops and what not. I realize things like hot ends aren't exactly on the shelf. But getting NEMA motors is a bitch.
Is there anywhere in central jersey to get a NEMA 17? Noone has them.
