Hi All,
I have built a coreXY printer with a build volume of 40x40x40. I'm using a bowden extruder. Due to the larger build volume the cable run (and bowden cable) towards the extruder flexes in a way it completely drops on the drive-belts.
Is there a solution available to prevent bending and does not affect movement? Like a steel spring or something?
Thanks!
Wouter.

Reprappers
I have disabled the pull-up resistor and the voltage devider works as expected now. I do prefer the other option as it reduces risk.I have ordered the optocoupler board and will implement it as soon as I receive it.

Hi All,
I'm in a bit of pain getting a capacitive sensor working.
Current situation:
- LJ12A3-4-Z/BX capacitive sensor
- connected to Z- through a voltage devider (10K + 15K)
- The endstop ALWAYS shows 'open'
- While not triggered z- pin is 5 volt, while triggered z- pin is 3,5 volt which is too high for triggering the endstop.
After doing some research I found the following solution. Is thi

Do I need the RCD/GFID if the 220v main circuit already has a earth leakage circuit breaker?

Thanks for the excellent explanation!
Would the 150 degrees version of the following thermal fuse attached to the bottom of the aluminium plate be a smart solution? Does it need some kind of heatsink paste between the bed and the fuse?

Thanks for your quick replies!
I think I'll go for the single plate 6mm, a top plate is ofcource easy to add later.
And... Should the Aluminium be anodized or not?

Well, I like to print on kapton tape and putting the tape on the removable build plate is much easier than on a fixed build plate. If it has more con's than pro's I might need to reconsider :-). I'm open for that...

These are the aluminium options I have with a local vendor:
AW-1050A H14/H24
AW-5754 H111
AW-5083 H111
AW-5083 H321
AW-6082 T6/T651
So would this be a proper setup:
400x400x6 aluminium fixed aluminium plate (with silicone heater attached to it) and on top a 400x380x4 removable aluminium 'build plate' with kapton tape attached with 'office' clips.
This ofcourse means the combined plates

Hi All,
I am building a corexy printer with a build volume of roughly 400x400x400. Now I'm up to the point on deciding on a heated bed:
- Must work with Silicone Heater (220v 600W)/SSR
- Must work with inductive auto leveling system
- Print Mostly ABS, PETG. Not really interested in PLA.
So my plan (top to bottom)
- 3mm 400x400 glass plate/mirror with kaptop tape OR ??mm 400x400 removable alu

I used 2 plastic bags placed over the whole printer except the electronics, and it worked well enough for the ABS prints I was doing at the time.
It would scare me to leave it unattended.... Did you make a frame for the bags?

I have done it and only two holes are needed, one for alle the electronics and another for the filament. The electronics are outside the chamber. The chamber is build manly from plexi and heats up from the headbed alone.
Could you share a photo of your setup?

Hi All,
A lot of people are building a heated chamber around the whole 3d printer, this has some drawbacks:
- A lot of 'unwanted' surface to heat which means extra 'Watts' needed to heat it.
- Unwanted heating of motors (or additional work to place the motors outside the heated chamber
Has anyone tried building a chamber only covering the build area (attached)? this would enable to heat only u

Hi All,
I have been printing on my Prusa i3 with MK3 heated bed and RAMPS controler for some time without any issues using repetier Firmware. Now I run in to the following issue:
- During printing the Heated bed, Extruder Stepper motor and Hotend stop working, X-Y-Z motors stil continue running the gcode. The screen reports 'dec' instead of the heated bed temperature.
It happened to me multipl

All, thanks A LOT for all the extensieve answers, I have a lot to try/test the next few days :-) I will let you guys know what works for me... One thing giving me some grief at the moment is the fact that I can't manage to het the bed above 85 degrees. Will it help to isolatie the bottom of the heated bed woth Cork?

Printing
Hi All,
Finally I got my ABS print to stick to the print serface with ABS slurry on top of kapton tape...
After the print completed i saw the kapton tape had came loose from the glass in the middle of the print, warping due to this was minimal. but.... the warping did not start at the bottom of the printed object, but halfway :-( (see attached picture). I don't have a clue hot to fix this one

Selling doesn't make sense. I like to make it a fun project.. Ofcourse there is a lot of good usabele material, I was thinking of printing different materials like Chocolate. Anyone had any experience in that field?

Hi all,
I have bought a fully working 5 year old Rapman 3.1 for €50 with buggy Electronics, some cracked and bent plexiglas and a couple of roles 3mm ABS.
As I already have a decent prusa i3 for the standard work, I would like to do something special with this one (on a fairly low budget). Does anyone have soms good idea's?
Thanks!

Hi All,
I've been looking for reasonably priced linear bearings which can be reordered multiple times with similar quality (which in a lot of cases is pretty hard with China suppliers). I found this one:
(see attachment)
Does anyone have experience with these guys and their products?
Thanks!
