Whaaaoooo! Really nice build!
But... do you need a forklift to move that beast ? :-D
The only "downside", with quality build like that, a coreXY could be a "better" choise than a simple H-bot.

Glad to hear that my project was a major inspiration for you :-D
Ok you use direct extruder, so yes brittle filament can be a pain. so the bowden extruder have an another advantage (except for the retractation).
And with problem for brittle filament with direct extruder i have an idea that i can patenting!
- Just add a very small "torque" motor to push the filament with a kind of spring system t

Hi,
I don't post so often now (work, family, etc...) but you're machine look nice.
But if I can suggest you an idea like the_digital_dentist have already said:
Look at my printer:
The 5th pictures, show exactly how to put the cable chain to having the 'shorter' path for the ptfe lining.

Edit: Oups on that pictures you can cleary show a temporary shorcut for the ptfe tube, forget i

Hello DeuxVis,

Hi,
Nice to seeing some dev for that tantillus. Looking to make a second tantillus, for completing the printed case i have.
But before i start to make it. Can you said to me the total size of build area you have with your modding? I hope you will said to me that it's more that 100mm. Mine is exactly 101mm ans its just little too small.

Thanks a lot Wurstnase, exactly what I'm looking for :-D
Now I need to see if touch screen from DC42 working well with it.

Hi,
Using many ramps/mega2560 singe many time without problems.
But i want to try arm board. I have look around but why "motherboard" are so big?
There is an ARM board with the size of the combo ramps/mega2560 or even smallest?
Yes printed tantillus are cute, but don't have plenty space inside.
Regards.

Very Nice, seem interesting!
Even changing 15mm openbeam to 10mm MakerBeam will be possible ?
I will look for your project further for sure.when time will be available for me

Hello,
Squared rods is essential for good printed squared parts :-D
And of course if everything are squared, parallel with the tantillus (ultimaker, etc...) there is less friction with bush/rod and hard "point", so you can decreasing amps on your nema driver, and so have less noise, less heat, and better accel, speed.
So you MUST be able to move with your little finger the XY carriage when eve

To minimize the effect of hysteresis, I have only 6mm of retractation with 120mm/s speed. no lifting nozzle, and slowed print speed and acceleration (yes really).
If I print at 150mm/s and 10000mm/s², I have too much hysteresis at start, so I have only putted 80mm/s (for infil AND perimeter) and reduce the accel to 3000mm/s². And my print are almost perfect, for big things or small details. Trav

Sorry to wake up the topic (after 6 months).
But this post can be useful to anybody.
After many many prints (long/short etc...), a 1.75 filament inside 900mm of 4OD 2ID PTFE tube is perfect. Even the path have "small" diameter, and no problems at all.
I have just installed a 1/5 motor reductor on simple nema 17.
There is almost no "hysteresis".

@Dougal: For the speed test, I'm always at 80mm/s and 150mm/s for travel, not that printer make bad things as the quality is exactly the same, but just because I always have the same problem : "noise".
Faster = Noisier, and less WAF.

@Jumperdome: Thanks for your words. But forget about peltier element, to power hungry in my opinion. So for the firmware, I ha

I make a big thread for the corexy printer on Repraper forum with many pictures:

Conclusion: enclosure with polycarbonate + dibond is an excellent sound box.
This week I have family at home, so no many work on the tantillus.
But: GT2 belt carriage is finish, Z axis is on going. I just waiting for: power supply, Aluhotend nozzle.

Hello,
The two bearings are not on top each other only for one reason. If the idler pulley and the motor pulley don't have the same diameter your drawing don't work well.
My design have the advantage of: You can change only the motor pulley size, have teeth idler pulley or only put "flat" bearing pulley on each idler. WITHOUT calculate/change idler/pulley axis. (don't know if anybody can unders

For abs printing:
Kapton + acetone and little ABS.
Enclosure
Heated bed at 110°C during all the print.
No fan at all.
for example of printing with that method:

In ABS and no warping and no cracking...

@3Dmaker4U: Yes Z thread don't produce so much noise. And the bed don't fall when you stop the motor.
But M8 don't have easy layer height (almost always rounded). On my other printer I have a F8 (8mm x 8 by turn instead of M8x1.25), so with 400 or 800 step/mm you always have the right layer height.
Sorry for bad picture quality:
Yes maybe I will reprint Base_4 ....
Who see any warping ? :-D

Hello,
Since many years (yes years), I wanted to print a tantillus, but the first part I have printed was really not beautiful in ABS (warp, crack, etc...). And i prefer ABS instead of PLA (easy to glue, easier to extrude when I started in the world of 3D printing , and many in stock)
So I decided to design/build/create my own printer, it's was first an HBot printer, printed with my first one (
