My overpriced frames just broke, lasted 4 years, which is ok i guess, but anyways printed new ones out!
They're a lot different from the frames that broke, but this was the best way i could think of doing it, they look really dorky though haha

All of the dual x-carriage setups ive seen on thingiverse so far are made to fit j-head and thinner-type hot ends, anyone know of one possible for dual buda?

Plastic type is something you are going to have to decide on your own as it is a preferential decision. i recommend doing some more research on your own before placing an order

I was under the impression EPOCS 100K thermistor shouldnt be used for hot end, I think I read somewhere it gives poor readings at higher temps, could be wrong though if someone could chime in on that.
Make sure all endstops are hooked up, load up pronterface, connect to RAMPS, move the axis around so that none of the endstops are hit and then send the command M119 (type into the text box in the

a problem I had with my parts being moved mid print was:
1. not enough layer adhesion on the first layer. You need the first layer to really stick well in order to hold itself down for the whole print.
2. z-axis calibration off, if the z axis doesnt move as high as it thinks it's going, the nozzle can hit the lower layers because it hasnt moved high up enough, which can some print mess ups

OK, so far, almost good. Motherboard 7 is the wrong set up, this is for ultimaker. 33 is what you want for RAMPS.
hot end... im not sure which thermistor you should use, either get in contact with the supplier and ask which hot end to use or someone here might be able to guide you in the right direction for that.
if the z-axis are vibrating/shaking/not-moving, try to turn the trimpot on the pol

mechanical endstops are highly effectivve and cheap. You can get a pack for a few bucks or even go to your local electronics shop an grab momentary buttons/switches and get it that day, no need to wait for shipping, very easily. I really don't see the point in NOT getting endstops as they provide valuable infomration to the controller board at an extremely low cost...

it's just at some point you have to stop taking certain updates and view it as an excuse to wait "just a little longer". Things need to happen, sample/alpha/beta kits need to be shipped to users to show the company is actually developing. I understand there is overhead and unexpected road bumps companies must face, but like i said before there could be over a million orders makibox needs to fulfi

I have an 80mm fan blowing on my Sanguinololu (and RAMPS when I was using that) just to increase the cooling on my mosfets and pololu steppers, better safe than sorry. Also fan on the extruder I think is mostly for PLA prints

zaxis problem:
make sure you dont disconnect and reconnect any motors with power from the PSU on. I would go as far to say dont even have a pololu stepper in there if you have no motor connected to that slot. Try taking out hte pololu stepper from the z-axis and swap it with the Y-axis pololu and see if it moves the stepper. this will check for faulty/blown steppers.

oh merp sorry was looking for a ttyACM* device hoping it would be similar to linux, someone else will have to help you there. If you're supposed to be looking for USBSERIAL, and it isnt listed it's either not connected or the drivers are not installed properly. try opening up pronterface and seeing if auto detects the com port (if the com port in pronterface is blank it didnt detect the electroni

Are you from US? I was able to source everything for my mendelmax build within the US and ended up paying around 800, but for an i2 you could probably pay a bit less if you tried sourcing everything within your country

if the device isnt listed, you may have installed the driver incorrectly, I'm not 100% sure though as I do not use Mac.
Try doing this command in terminal:
ls /dev/tty* and paste the output here

im from US so I dont know anything about VAT, but I'm assuming their like taxes... i assumed on the 499eur price which is ~$670 which is comparable to the i3 makerfarm price but 700euro is definitely a lot more

after a quick look t hte makerfarm i3, you will still need to buy glass, PSU, + the 2 week lead time, whereas I'm pretty sure Nophead's is ready to ship in a few days and comes with PSU. I had a 4 week lead time on my MendelMax parts, the wait is killer lol.
You'll be happy with whatever you purchase, ultimately it's up to you. I have little experience with i2 and mendel90 from work, and have o

I built a MendelMax less than a month ago, took me a couple nights to get the physical printer built, my first prints came out ok, but im still working on calibrating things here and there. I have a friend who's building a Prusa I2, and still hasn't completed it after a few weeks.
that is a first print from someone in the Mendel90 subforum, which is pretty good in my opinion, and from what I'v

i2, i3, or Mendel90 (i recommend the Mendel90 kit by Nophead, it looks like a lot of people are having good luck with it ) will be fine, ultimately, you'll most likely be happy with whichever one you get. I have a Budaschnozzle hot end, and to switch nozzles, it's simple, just unscrew the nozzle and replace with a different sized one- no need to remove the entire hot end. I've only had experience

Have you already paid for a MakiBox? At this point I would really suggest people to stop placing orders, even if the MakiBox finally launches and orders ship, people need to realize at some point they are going to have more purchase orders than they can fulfill for a long time. A $200 price point is an amazing price for someone who "wants to test the waters" "it's only $200 im not spending the 2.

Being under linux should have no affect (imo) to programming the board. I know whenever I am under my linux distro I have to launch the IDE under su privileges though.
I'm not very familiar with the Techzone kit or the "daughter board" but a quick search looks as though the Stepper drivers are soldered onto the board. I recommend not hooking up the board and giving an axis with no motor attached

I'm thinking you're going to need extra circuitry here, although I've only really dealt with Sanguino and RAMPS. 4 heat beds isn't going to get enough voltage if you wire them in series, like Viktor said, you would need 48V to run that (Voltages in series add up), so your best bet would be to wire them in series. 12V at ~11A, make sure you check amperage draw, is 132W under Ideal conditions. i would recommend going with the mendel90 as well, ive heard and seen nothing but great things from first prints in the mendel90 subforum. I recently finished building a mendelmax 1.5 and regret not going for a mendel90 instead
