I lost unread counts in Reprappers between this morning and now. No spam read or reported by me. Does anyone know if posts were deleted from that section of the forum today?????

With all due respect to RichRap, the 3DR is last year's design. Delta technology has moved on, and even the old 3DR thread here had vanished off the radar for a few months until it came back today for some reason.....

I'm not going to proof your config, other than to say that you apparently have an LCD-12864 and are trying to use LCD-2004 settings. The next gotcha is that you will need u8glib added to your Arduino libraries. These are enough key words where you should b able to search the forums and/or your config file to figure everything out.....

Exactly my logic. I have the electronics and stepper motors at the top of my new printer build, and was actually thinking about running the Bowden tube through the inside of the coil to see how that worked/looked.
I have one of these scheduled to land in my mailbox today:

User Chris Hax on the Google Deltabots group posted this last night. At $65.08 USD with 5 stepper support, DRV8825's @ 1/32 micro-steps. and the network port on board, it certainly sets the bar for most features at that price point:

Does anyone have a source for a multi-conductor coiled cord suitable for connecting an effector plate to a controller board? I'm thinking 8-12 conductors, depending on the wire gauge. Just thinking that I would like something a little bit less "garage-built" on my new build, and looking for an alternative to ribbed split loom or the woven sleeves that are commonly used now.....

It also has happened in the past when someone extends the cables beyond their original length. My 12864 graphical LCD throws garbage at times because the on-board 5V power supply from the Azteeg X5 Mini is a little bit weak, and I have to run it from USB power to have the GLCD work reliably.....

Two quick thoughts:
1) The carriages appear to be using just three wheels to ride on a round tube extrusion. If so, you may want to add another set of wheels in a vertical line to the first set. The current layout looks like a recipe for unwanted vertical rocking to me as the rods "lever" push/pull on the carriage, and there must be a reason why OpenBuilds uses 4 wheels per axis and AndyCart's

Are you open to some peer review of your mechanical design, or do you want to go through the process as a learning experience and possibly throw some parts away?????

Given TakerBot's drag on Stratasys' bottom line during their last quarterly earnings report, this should come as no surprise.
I'm grabbing my popcorn for the ramifications of their actions under New York State law. Layoffs of that size need to be reported to the state in a specific time window before they happen, and the apparent surprise nature of this announcement to their employees leads me

The State of California knows many things, that may or may not be based on scientific fact. (Printed on disclaimer warnings for products containing a whole slew of chemicals and sold in their state.)
I know that post public-access copiers in my area (far away from California in New York State) have copyright warning signs, but I believe they are in place by federal law since the feds (and not i

A co-worker forwarded me an article about this California bill, so I had to go look it up for myself. Looks llike some politician got shot down on their drone bill, and re-wrote it as a 3D printer copyright warning bill:

I asked DeuxVis about this in a PM, and he suggested that I post it here.
About once a week or so, my unread post counts for a random forum section that I regularly read will decide to show all posts as read. When I open that section, every post shows as unread...even ones that I have read. My thought for the possible cause is that I report a lot of spam posts, and perhaps the way that moderat

Seriously? To me it seemed like a 1st of April joke on RepRappers, a $400+ monstrosity piling up every single "dream feature" that one could ever hear about in forums or on irc channels.
...except that it was posted in January...not April:

That's an awful lot of heatbed load, especially if your goal is to reach 110C to print ABS. I would get two SSR's (with heat sinks) and keep that load away from the Megatronics.....

QuoteDavid JI've heard of people using MDF under a heatbed - it's usually even in thickness. I don't know if it would cope with 110C - 120C though.
SeeMeCNC provides a wooden "snowflake" for use under the Onyx heatbed on their Rostock Max. Here's a picture of mine, turned upside-down and resting in the frame of my new HotBot2 build:

Why isn't there a "buy it now" link on that page? (Sarcasm)
There is a running thread on the Google Deltabot group doing "peer review" of their published schematics, and the consensus is that the published design has flaws that would prevent it from working combined with a parts count that makes reaching the target price point questionable. A few people have even

Look what I made!
Every time the UNO comes up for use as a 3D print controller, the thing that ends the thread every time is not having enough pins for everything. I don't know how the board you're using compares with the UNO, but you may want to count the pins before you put in any more time into this.....
