Prusa i3 and variants
Hi guys,
I just ordered 2 NEMA 17's with integrated TR leadscrew (8mm) for my Z axis.
I am switching from 5 mm rods because i cant find straight rods, so i keep having a wobble wich i am pretty sure is caused because of these bend rods.
So i am hoping these Nema 17's with integrated rod will fix the issue i have.
What do you guys think of this upgrade ? The fact they are integrated are an adv

Thx for the help fellows,
I found that that the issue i was having came when tightening the top frame on the y frame.
i dissambled the 2 frames again, forced the hovering y end down while tightening and the issue is fixed.
Thx and good luck to you all.

thx for your reply,
Actually i cant make a picture at the moment :s.
The issue is that my front right y corner ( printed piece), doesn't touch my desk , it hovers a bit while the other y corners do touch my desk.
My whole printer is not very stable because of this, its a mechanical problem but i am not sure where to start to fix it.

Is the power supply under the heated bed, where it might be overheating?????
No it is not connected to the printer in any way

A better question is what type of power supply is being used? It sounds like it may be functioning at the upper threshold of its output capacity, popping the breaker from running the heated bed at a 100% duty cycle to hold 110C.....
That is what i was thinking. I have the 12 V / 360 W POWER SUPPLY aluminium case.Output:
Voltage: 12 VDC ± 5 %
Rated current: 30 A

Hi fellow reprappers,
Yesterday i tried to print with abs for the first time.
When my bed is at about 100-110c (the max it seems to get) it stops heating the bed and extruder after a while.
If i disconnect and reconnect to repetier host i can heat up again and it goes fine for 20 mins and then it happens again.
I was thinking it was my power supply since the power supply fan turned on right afte

Hi,
It should only be heated when the hole is too small, wich is risky, chances are great that you dont burn the nut straight in and that gives issues.
Mine are a bit loose , just like yours, just try it that way, it should be fine.

Hi,
I am not sure what kind of whine you are referring to:
There is a normal "music box sound" like Nechaus explained, wich is normal especially when doing circles.
There is a real motor whine, what Ohmarinus means i think, it is more like a zooming noice ( not sure how to explain in english) wich is caused by to much current on the stepper.
The stepper should not make such noice, i dont use a

Update
I fully disassembled the x and z axis, and i noticed that the the z steppermotor on the side with the issue wasn't straight.
The holder itself was crooked and it was installed a bit crooked to the frame.
The left threadet rod is still having a wobble, but i suppose that the rod became croocked because of the croocked installed steppermotor. I guess next step is to by a new rod and test?

Hi avdwege2003 , thanks for your fast reply.
I am using Aluminium couplers, the ones that need a nut on top of the couplers.
I have to say that the nut in the x end is probably a bit crooked, the nut did not really fit in the x end ( not a very good print )
The LM8UUs however are tight like they should.
I notice that the wobble is greater the more lower the axis goes, wich was the same with m

Hello fellow Reprappers ,
I have a big issue with a z wobble in my left threaded rod.
It wobbles crazy at the top end of the rod, so bad it even makes my extruder wobble, i do not have this issue with the right rod.
I changed the rod = no succes, i changed the x motor holder ( not very well printed) = no succes, i changed the distance between the x holders = no succes.
It drives me crazy, i've
