Printing issues ...
Guys i have a couple of broken duets in my hands . And i was wondering is it possible to have replaced the arm processor ? Does it need programming before attaching to the board. In my simple mind i though that the programming is the firmware itself, isn't it ?

Guys today i started a print but the extruder wasn't pushing filament. I touch it and it was too hot. It could retract but no matter what i did it couldn't extract . So is there anyway to tell for sure if the stepper is damaged ?

The quickset nozzle is a fine hotend . the only downgrade is the bowden tube getting to close to the heater block. i will try to solve this issue somehow in the future.

well guys after a lot of frustration i did one more upgrade to my printer. My second rpp which has been built by me had a quick set nozzle but the aluminum piece that works a thermal bridge for the nozzle and the heatsink were smaller than the one came by rpp.
In the past i had also some problems with the nozzle shipped and i realized that i had to open up the bowden tube with a 2.5mm drill to m

i liked the analysis too. In my experience a dirt it the filament is the minor cause of a clog as i always see lot of dirts coming out of my nozzle with the filament. Anyway thanks for the write Dentist.

would it be possible to add some more probe points for bed levelling ? for now you can add a fifth point as i know. but it would be nicer if we can add some more.

i got terrified now for two reasons . The first one is that i always found dirt in my filaments but the one to blame is me, as i am not very carefull during the production of the filament. So most of the time the dirt gets out with the extruded filament and no harm is done. But sometimes my quick set nozzle clogs and i was hoping that the e3d v6 i am waiting would be better than that .
After al

i am waiting a extruder like urs from day to day and i was thinking about the thermistor.
In case that you ll find a solution please post it .
another question is, if it is possible to install the thermistor we already have in the e3d v6 ?

Today i got myself a e3d v6. i hope it will solve my problems with my current hot end and the endless clogs.! Thanks guys for the heads up . i ll post the update here when it comes ( hopefully fast )

it happened again yesterday .it was a pause on layer two and it resumed the print from the 4rth. weird ....!

you have some serious updates there . how much better is the diamond and the E3D v6 from the original quick set hot end ? Also the multiple extruder is the best update that someone can do in my opinion....!
. keep it coming.

i donthave no experience with ramps but i think there are two reasons why this happened. the first one is that the cables were loose . and i think that you have to drive the heatbead with a relay as the amps are much for the board itself.

One thing that it could be good to consider is to be able to resume prints on every layer. I mean sometimes i got a fail during print but i can resume it loosing some layers ( it depends on how much later you can understand the failure)
To be more specific let's say that i have a failure on 5th layer. until i realise ( a camera watch on the fly the spools) the printing goes to 7th layer. So if

Thanks David for ur reply. Both printers use same firmware, identical config.g, but i think the rpp is more rigid than mine. i also did some changes at the motor currents . The steppers that the second one is running are some that you have pointed to me.

Guys i need some help again.
My second mendel is trembling and i think is is relative to the speed ( more speed => more trembling.) Yesterday looking around at the net i saw it is stepper noise problem .
Is there any way to reduse this. I think my first build has shielded cables and it also has a stainless steel bended sheet at the point that the cables get out of the stepper.

i bought mine for my second setup at stepperonline . They have lot of steppers and good prices..! I dont know where you are but keep in mind customs as they can easily double the price of ur buy.

I have difficult time to believe there are no users with the specific printer.
I just want to know if anyone have done any mods to the rpp mendel. If so what kind of mods - upgrades ?

this extruder you are talking about is a bowden setup or a direct extruder ? Also the j head stop are no longer available, aren't they ? Comparing to a rpp quick set hotend how much better is i t?

Now that you 've mention it i think that in those printings i had the fails i might have the hotend moved higher than the maximun z....! i am not sure but because i need to see the nozzle to insert a drill for unclog it i do it ( getting the tip high) so it maybe the cause.
Thanks for the tip David.

i was running the 10-4 but it happened with an earlier version . the strange thing is both of the mendels running same firmware but it happens only to the one of them. today i got a look at resume and pause commands and didn't find anything there ( just did a comparison between the files from the two sd cards.) .
I suspect that there is something wrong with the slic3r settings.
From yesterday

Guys yesterday i ve notice a problem that runs in one of my mendels. Today i spot exactly the cause . I was thinking that there was something wrong and after pause sometimes it was getting the nozzle higher than it should be.
Today i notice that it is just jumping layers. Any ideas what to look ?

it seems to me you are in the middle of a playground...!

Guys is it possible to add a temp limit for the hotend to the config file and when the hotend get this hot ( as the temp that you have already write ) to shutdown ?
Today i notice a problem with the fun of the hotend and luckily it wasn't printing at that time, otherwise a disaster could come

Guys something weird happen to me today while i was printing . After the pause command the nozzle lost it's position and particularly it get about 1.5 upper than it should be. Today that happened 3 times until the printing fails . This had happened once in the past on my second printer but i didn't payed attention as it was only one and i wasn't sure why this happened.

i haven't had any filaments except one chinese abs. at that time i meausre it and it was somethign about +/- 0.04. my first extruder was at +/- 0.06 . Thats why i left it and builded a second one . I wanted to be more accurate...!
But if that's the case guys then i ll stop looking around and try to archive some small improvements as probably i would loose my time trying to do the impossible.

But +/-0.04mm is well within professional filament specs......Do you want better results?
what ? is it true ? i want the filament to get to 0.005-0.01 difference . very weird . what are you getting Frans on urs Frans ?
