In general you cannot put power supplies in parallel, as there is no guarantee the load will be shared evenly.
i know for two different psus it isn't a must . but on a good psus with internal controlled voltage and amperage is it bad? that's what it has to do ( power 2 vgas for example).
edit:another solution is to power with the one rail the duet and through a relay power the

what is the wattage of ur bed heater. i own a 0.6 vereion of of the duet and i think one 12v rail is enough to run ur printer and hot end/bed.
on he other hand you have nothing to lose if you connect the two rails the way you told. . ur psu is pretty strong there is no need to look another one.

Interesting news. i am using the 0.6 ( i would like to go to 0.8.5 ) and it is a wonderfull board. if 0.8.5 is better how much better would the new board be ? Good news .

plugging 220v ac to a printer ( or anywhere ) require some skills ( which i dont have ) to avoid accidents .

Today i got my heater . So i 've run a test. The aluminum is 5.7mm and pluging the heater to an old pc psu i saw that it was able to heat up the aluminum. The psu is weak enough with the 12v rail supplying only 10v and dont know how many amps ( i imagine less than 7).
The intention was to test the cables soldered on the heater and i saw that it worked pretty well for about 10-15min. I 'll change

Good u found the problem. It is not a counter pressure . it is just boiled water that needs it way UP instead of the filament it looks it's way down. The problem is that no extruder is so powerful to beat steam.

what mendel do you have ? did you check if ur extruder extrudes ? it seems to me that there is no filament coming out or the wrong quantity . you have to check ur extruder and / or ur hotend.

i am thinking also a led strip ( not rgb) to my heatbed instead of just a led and a resistor. Would it be a problem for my duet and/or the heatbed ? I imagine a led strip of 3-6leds will only draw some mA.

I made a adaptor PCB to connect both z-axis stepper towards one driver connector. (currently for parallel mode, but serial mode should be doable also)
that's what i intend to do also . Make a pcb that would be upgradable to 5v regulator to plug the steppers. But for now it would only have sockets for the steppers.

Here's another RepRapPro wiring diagram, showing how to connect two Z motors in in series without using extra connectors on the optional linear regulator board for the Duet.
david at this diagram the two coils are blue/red and green/black ?

i dont have this hot end but seeing china kick off all the research in 3d printing ( as they cant do research only cheap copies ) makes me sad.
there must be a solution on this before all the reprap project dies.

Hello folks . I was just checking my new motors and for wiring them to duet. As i 've read polarity and which coil is which counts. So i have two pairs and want them to plug them in the duet . Are there any tips or it is just try and find ?
Also i want to extend the cables and was thinking of using ide flat cables or utp is this ok ?
Last but not least rpp was sending a piece of metal to shield

Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Guys hello.
I was just checking on cura software and find it very interesting. I was wondering if there are any advantages over slic3r and also if it can work with my RePrapPro Mendel ?
I mean is there any configuration file that i can insert it into Cura to match my mendel ?

Guys i need to finish my second mendel but there is a part i can't find in the net. It is the part that keeps the proximity sensor and standing between the fan and the cooler at the hot end. If you have anything ( cad, stl ) please point at me cause the alternative is to disassembly the old Mendel and take this a copy.

when i had this kind of clogs ( in my case abs ) i realised after a lot of research that it was filaments humidity problem. i could print small parts but when somethng was more than 30minutes print then i was always had problem with clogs. So i learned my lesson the hard way. Now every time i print i put the filament in the oven at 50celcious for an hour or so and everything works just fine.

Guys i was wondering if i could damage my duet if i ll start plugging some of the things i have. I mean i only have one stepper and the heaters . If i plugged them is it possible to damage the board? Also if i plugged them without the sensors ( endstops, proximity, thermistors ) will it work ?
I also think it would be ok to just power it on through the usb power and upload firmware . Am i wrong

Although i had too many problems with my filament at that time with 0.3 ( quick set in my case ) was a perfect but slow solution for me. The problems you are having have to do with layer height in my opinion . I dont print pla but the print bond problem is worst at abs because of wraping
First thing i would suggest is to look at the layer height in slic3r ( if that is waht you use ) . Then take

ok got it david . I ll supply 5v trough my server psu ( it gives 5.55v without load ) .
But something more. On the web interface it say that it has an option to power on a psu ? I think it refers to psu from computers. Is it an easy proccedure or it needs a lot of modding and hacking ?

Guys i receveid two days ago the last ( i hope it will change soon) order from RPP . It was a duet 0.6 . Then i thought that i need the 5voltage regualtor that rpp was shipping with duet. So are there any alternatives to it or i have to make one to make the printer work .
In few words is the 5v regulator necessary for the setup or there is an alternative ?

thanks guys for ur feedbacks but somethig more.
i ve read the duet is capable of supplying 24v is that right or i missunderstood ? if it can how amps can it handle ?
i ll test the heater to see if it can reach 80c and in what period of time and if i saw it cant at all i ll leave it to but a bigger one as you have already suggested . But for now i am out of budget and i ll have to wait.
