I've been using thinner Garolite successfully but in smaller sizes. 1/8" thick works pretty well at 6x6 or even 6x8 but I have more trouble when I push out to 6x10 (my max print area) with the flatness (or lack of). If you have a rigid flat bed to clamp to, thinner Garolite should be feasible to clamp down flat. Also I've used both Garolite LE and CE and they seem nearly identical for sticking

Cope413,
Thanks for the info. Once I get my filament, we'll have to compare notes.
ETA: Ugen - we're typing at the same time. I've been experimenting a bit with glue stick and ABS - very promising. I'll definitely try some with PET as well. I'd love to find a setup that works with a cold bed. I've modded my printer to a 6 x ~10" bed but I only have a 6 x 8" bed heater so the extra length i

Thanks for stopping in, Tom. Good to hear that shipping rates are being worked on. I'm waiting for some 3mm T-glase, a couple of ?s while I wait...
Does T-glase need drying, if so, how much?
What surfaces are best for printing on? (Several are listed but with no ranking, is heat needed, etc.)
When you say 'wrap' I assume that is a loose coil of filament and not the earlier 'clamshell' conta

Not sure if this is what you mean but I use these codes in my 'start Gcode' section so that prints start without waiting for extruder or bed temp to be exactly right:
M104 S190 ;set extruder temp to 190 C and don't wait
M140 S55 ;set bed temp to 55 C and don't wait

So I have my 3mm E3D hotend running pretty well. I have some of the newest Taulman PETT on pre order and now their order page has been changed to say this: "NOTE: 3mm t-glase size will actually be the new Industry Standard of 2.8mm-3mm Max rather than 3mm +/-". Didn't say that when I placed the order. My Taulman 645 and 618 runs about 3.05 mm. Any idea if this 2.8-3 will work in the E3D?

FWIW, if you click on the buy 618 or buy 645 pages, at the top is a list of resellers. Quite a few are in the EU and one is in Canada. For folks in those areas, I'd contact a reseller about availability.

The home page lists it as $30 for a 1 lb spool. Here I thought $11.30 was kinda high for US shipping. Those international rates are terrible. IIRC they have some distributors overseas that should be better for shipping but I expect they won't get the newest stuff right away.

New material available for pre order from Taulman:
Sounds very interesting. Low printing temp, high strength and rigidity, food safe, high clarity, low shrinkage. I like their T618 and T645 a lot so I ordered a spool of this to try.

Thanks for the update Sanjay. I just wanted to make sure I didn't order a kit and have prebuilts come out the next day. I'll suck it up and just order a kit. Thx.

FWIW, I'm using the .90C version set up as above on a Printrbot and so far no issues.

I've been importing .STLs into Solidworks and using the Feature Recognition function in Solidworks to convert the STL mesh into editable parts. Typically takes a long time for the computer to crunch through and I have to reduce the number of feature types in Feature Recognition to get things to work. This might be only in Solidworks Premium (not sure). And it's far from perfect, sometimes does

Thanks for the welcome. I think the Whale brand Tufnol should be equivalent to Garolite CE or LE for printing. Look forward to hearing how your tests turn out.

I've been using Taulman 618 and now 645 on my Printrbot with good results. My prefered surface is Garolite CE since it sticks just as well as the LE that Taulman recommends but is cheaper. Printing Nylon on Garolite I set the first layer so that it is not squished down tight the way you would typically do with ABS. Just close enough to stick but less squashed so it comes off easier. Even then
