Better design for y idler:
I have an acrylic FolgerTech i3.
I am looking for a better design for the y idler. Currently using 623zz with plastic housing but it wobbles too much.
Any ideas?

The Prusa i3 MK2 uses a 623h for the y idler.
Where can I buy it?
I haven't found it anywhere online.

It was a typo. I set my first layer extrusion width to .6mm

o lampe i totally agree with you. I have been looking for someone who realized this
when you use a percentange of height it is over the first layer.
If your first layer is .2mm and you choose 150% it will only be .3mm.
Check out my post on this. Nobody seemed to get it.

Here is a picture of the y idler
If you can see it is crooked and i tried adjusting the y motor and the belt looks like it will almost come off. Not sure what to do abot it
About the bed hitting the zip ties here is the pic
i have tried flipping over the plexiglass but it didnt help
the rods snapped in so maybe ill just remove the zip ties

I have the acrylic FT i3 and I have no issues with bed adhesion on glass with hairspray. Printing for 1+ years now!
Do you use Slic3r.
I had problems with adhesion and I had to use a brim to keep it down.
So you have the same printer I wanted to know if you have some of the same problems:
When the y axis moves all the way back it hits the zip ties on the y rod
also the y

This is from slic3r when I hover over layer width.
It says it is computed over layer height. That means it is a percentage of layer height!!
If the layer height is .2mm then 150% will be .2*1.5= 0.3mm!
Here is from the slic3r website
I see you have folgertech, have your prints been sticking to the bed?
Hmmmm. I fail to see how the slicer could know how far away from th

Why does Folger Tech suggest to set in Slic3r Print Setting -> Adanced -> First layer -> 150%?
This only gives an extrusion width of 0.3mm when using a layer height of 0.2mm. Everyone online suggests the first layer should be very thick.
My prints now stick much better after setting first layer extrusion width to 0.6mm and first layer height of 0.25mm.
Any who buys a Folger Tech should

I had a FolgerTech Prusa i3 Acrylic Frame for about 5 months. Overall it's running great.
I just noticed a setting that has made a HUGE difference in my prints. They suggest setting the first layer extrusion width in Slic3r to 150%. But that means with a 0.2mm layer height its only going to be 0.3mm thick. But that is way lower than suggested on the RepRap calibration guide which says extrusion w

I did stop that print. Theres only a space between every second parallel line of infil that is printed. There should be a space between every line or no space at all I don't know why its doing this. Any thoughts?

I'm printing with 95% infil. I find that the printer prints a line then comes back and prints another one , then these two are touching when it goes to print the next parallel line to those two it is not touching. It seems that there is only a space between every other line.
I'm using a Folgertech prusa i3 and repetier host. I'm trying to do a fine tune of the esteps. If you look and zoom into th

I have figured it out. After 3 weeks of it not working I switched over to Blue tape and the heated bed off and it adheres amazingly to the bed.

That is a good idea i tried that and the bearings are really smooth. I then replaced the stepper driver and set it to 250 mV and the noise got much better. I think it has something also to do with the vibrations that are coming from the x axis motor and theyre not getting damped enough.

I have been having the same problem with the x axis it makes a grinding sound when running even though i tried lowering the current.

First, some backgorund information. I have the Folger Tech Prusa i3. I am using pla from atomic filament.
The printer has worked fine and i have printed many things. The hot end is set to 180 and the bed to 65. The PLA always adhered.
A few weeks ago I was fiddling with one the y endstop and i plugged it back into the ramps board to the right by one slot. The led on the endstop turned on even tho

I have a Prusa i3 from Folger Tech.
The X motor is making a grinding noise but this only happens when it goes in the positive direction from 0 to 200 but when its at 200mm and I bring it home it doesn't make the noise. Any ideas?
