Hi Bodge It, ... this was only a fraction i was willing to give away - some 3-count sets are elsewhere now I have some bigger/stronger steppers i'll reserve for 'serious' milling/turning applications and some special types (ultraflat, linear, geared, ...) Beside there are some PZT-motors and micro-/nano-drives for extreme high resolutions and some mechanical 'scrap' as linear stages, spindlesby VDX - Controllers

Hi Chris, ... the Nema23-motors are from more than 20 years old old IBM-printers, the Nema17 mostly from AEG-typewriters, some from 5.25" floppy- and hd-drives. From copiers i got some bigger AC- and DC-motors and magnetic clutches, in many printers between 15 and 10 years old i found 48-steps/turn tin-can steppers, in some (especially NEC) better/stronger 200-steps/turn Nema23-steppers but inby VDX - Controllers
Hi Enrique, when using inset i noticed some errors where skeinforge 'forgot' lines or added some jitter when lines come to close. This occured with "Extrusion Perimeter Width over Thickness (ratio):" set to 1.5 (default), -1.2 or 1.0 (but then at different layers and in different ways) I've atached some images with jitter, 'forgotten' areas and the neighbouring layers. Hi Forrest, ... it shouldn't be a big problem which OS you're developing your apps for - with VirtualBox (or other VM's too) i can launch most other OSes when in actual need ... On my 'WintelVista' i have actually WinXP, Win2K, Win98, DOS6.22, Ubuntu/EMC2, Knoppix (and some live-CD's too) running - not only for crossing or testing but sometimes for security or intercompatibility reasons too. Hi all, ... actually i managed to make my first attempts with skeinforge generating path-information for LOM-fabbing (Laminated Objct Modelling) with milling or laser-cutting thin sheets and stacking them to a solid object. In this blog ( ) i documented a test with manually drawing the different layers and then laminating and milling them one ontop of the other. Now some progress: - atached iby VDX - Skeinforge

Hi John, some years ago i developed a flat oszillating drive with form-/friction-mechanism what would work in a similar way but is maybe simpler to fabricate. Look at the dokuments and drawings here: When arranging two (or more for smoother moving) machanical oszillators around the filament with a fitting surface covered with small slope blades or fibres (as showed in the drawings) then youby VDX - General

Hi Fernando, ... me too How is you progress regarding UV-resins? I'm actually more active with laser-cutting and stacking thin foils as in the LOM-approach. My second 'active' construction area is defining/mixing self- or heat-curing pastes with waterglass, talcum and microspheres from glass or molten stone ... or hollow glass-spheres too. Hi Roland, ... you can buy a wax-ink-jet-head which is capable of 'shooting' 30 microns big droplets of molten wax that solidify on the target surface. Hi Phil, ... i had to realize a similar setup with hot glue (around 80°C, controlled +/- 0.5°C) and a pneumatic dispenser for a project in my daywork - here the biggest problems were changing viscosities by varying nozzle-temperatures when pausing or dispensing and avoiding cob-webs when cutting off the tray ...
