Sorry James, Zac got in first. Your set should be printed and in the post tomorrow though.
Thanks for the business Zac, your parts are on their way.
Happy Building both of you!

looks like your pulley is slipping on the x or y motor shaft (which explains your inconsistent layer placement)
also looks like and your idler is not tight enough to provide consistent feed (or that may also be a partially clogged bolt hobbing).

Here is what I would try:
Connect ORG/WHT and BLK/WHT together.
Connect RED/WHT and YEL/WHT together.
Drive Orange Black as one pair and Red Yellow as the other in a standard 4 wire configuration.

Here is the board. It also has a thermocouple module if you want that (and if you use techzone's firmware, or have some other firmware that supports MAX6675 thermocouples).
If I can get them to accept it as an envelope (i.e. if it is thin enough) the postage will be $5 otherwise $11.
Still interested?

Its a while ago now, but as I recall, I just changes the pin number for the extruder heater pin in pins.h.
How does $10+postage sound? Where are you based? Im in Au.

I have a techzone gen3 remix extruder board that I blew a mosfet on. I just changed the heater output to another channel so it was still usable. If you have a busted gen3 board, you could probably just replace the mosfet with one of yours.
I havent used it in over a year though. You might want to consider RAMPS instead.

switch from sprinter to marlin. its interrupt driven steps and lookahead planning make curves much smoother.

I would print those tabs as separate pieces and glue them in like dowels. That way you can print the whole thing without support.

Job Shop: I need stuff made!
I think that would better be done in the host software. It sends all the feedrates, so it could just multiply them by a factor before sending (although that wouldnt work for those thay print from SD.

Slic3r
How exactly does slic3r calculate the extrusion width?
I have been doing experiments to try and work this out, but it has me a bit baffled.
When I slice with a nozzle size of 0.5 and a layer height of 0.5 (I realise this is not recommended), the perimiter is 0.263mm from the edge of the object. This suggests to me that it thinks the width of a single filament is 0.526mm.

Well, I have a good idea of how much accumulating the parts costs because I have done it for a run of 15 previously. What I dont know much about is venue costs or locations, but I dont want to do a lot of work investigating if the interest is not there.
Having built 15 I have seen most of the problem and have a wealth of advice to offer at such a class. Looking at other masterclass event the run

Is there any interest in a build class in Adelaide?
Here is what I am thinking:
All the parts for a prusa mendel would be provided including the following upgrades/featrures:
lm8 linear bearings.
heated glass print platform.
ramps electronics kit.
stainless frame & smooth rods.
just bring yourself and a few tools.

Also help to oil your nozzle to make the plastic less likely to stick to it.

how long is the 0.34mm hole? It needs to be reasonably short because the back pressure goes up exponentially with its length. Perhaps drill the bore of your nozzle a bit closer to the end.

Where are you based? By dad and I kept 2 each and he is having second thoughts about needing 2, so one may be available.

the silicone is an excellent insulator, so you dont want it between the resistor and block. on the ends to hold the resistor in should be fine though.
