The drive pulley on the motor is this one: T5 Z-drive pulley, it also fits snugly on the stepper (and having a different number of teeth than the threaded rod pulleys, wouldn't cause problems that coincide with the threaded rod thread pitch).

It is an original ("sells") mendel, not a prusa.
The Z pulleys are this one from sdp-si: T5 Z-pulley, which do have a snugly fitting 8mm bore.
The Z-nuts are held tight in the x-vert-drive-nut-trap parts. I have not replaced these nuts during my replacements of rods / belts / pulleys.
It seems like the only remaining candidates are to replace the Z-nuts and double-check the distances from 608

I originally thought it could be caused by eccentric Z pulleys too, which is why I went from printed to commercial ones. There is no visible eccentricity.
Here are another couple of side by side prints, this time layer thickness 0.2mm, but trying W/T of 1.4 (on the left) and 2.2 (on the right).
Varying W/T. 0.2mm layers. W/T 1.4 and 2.2

Hey all. I built an original mendel about a year ago, and up until recently I've only being printing at about 0.35mm layer thickness. When I moved to printing with thinner layers I noticed a wobble in the z-axis of my prints. The wobble has a wavelength of 1.25mm (which is the thread pitch of the Z threaded rods). I figure that it was not apparent at the thicker layers mostly due to the relativel

Are you going to update it to include SF 42/43?

The extended nipple just means there is more length through which the plastic needs to be forced at the final nozzle opening diameter, and the extrusion force increases linearly in the length of this hole. You would be better off without the nipple (but still having the end slightly flattened). For the same reason, the larger diameter drilling inside of the nozzle should be drilled with a 'pointy

The guys who make the ones in that ebay ad look to have something fairly similar (to my unexpert eyes) to the one recommended at zappautomation - what do you think of the 42BYGHM809 on - maybe it would be a good alternative for those not in the UK?

There are definitely people around who can print you the parts for a prusa - I've done a few myself. Tell us where you are and you can probably find someone local (who can possibly even help you out if you get stuck at some point).
is a good resource for working out where to get parts from.

Len.

I'm using a 10 tooth gear on my mendel Y axis and it's working fine, just had to adjust my machines.xml (I use replicatorg). I have sprockets to put on my other axes at some stage, but it was the printed gear on my Y that was giving me a wave though my prints.

I am in Hamilton (well, out near Ngahinapouri actually). I should be able to do you a set - I haven't printed prusa parts before, but have previously done two mendel sets, with another about half printed.

Indeed, when I tried viewing in google earth, I saw that I had actually created several entries for myself over the last few months, but they don't usually show up on the maps interface. Managed to delete the extras, still dont' understand how google maps manages to not show relevant entries, even when you zoom right in.

Len.

There is a google reprap world map that has been around for ages - i tried a few months ago to add myself to it but it seems borken (maybe I'm just doing it wrong). Maybe we should just update the wiki RUG page Sebastian linked to with the contact info of people with working repraps in different areas who would be willing to show 'n' tell and/or print parts.
Cheers,
Len.

Depends a little on the type of plastic used and whether there were any/many false starts when printing the parts. I sold that set I printed for $45.

Putting it down to a number of hours is quite hard for me, it's not like the makerbot where everything arrived in a box at once and I built it with my son over a few evenings. With the mendel, parts tended to dribble in and so the construction got quite spread out. There are also variables such as whether you get the thick sheet lasercut or whether you cut it all with a jigsaw by hand (like I did

Folk,
I have just finished printing a set of mendel parts on my newly completed mendel. They are pretty much the standard set (non-simplified), but with the wade geared extruder, nophead drive pulleys. Although I didn't get my parts through any such deal, I am going the reprap recommended route of producing two sets of parts for the cost of plastic and postage. I would like you to send me a ph

I think most of the kiwi reprappers I've seen posting are based in the North Island (as I am). We were pretty lucky it happened at the time of night that it did -- if it were in the middle of the day with more people around the CBD there would have been a lot more injuries.

Some people make equivalents of the plastic parts out of wood etc to get themselves going.
For actual plastic ones you pretty much need to get them from someone who already has a printer up and running. I bought a makerbot at the beginning of this year, and am currently printing out the last of the pieces to make myself a mendel. Some of the large parts have been pretty tricky to print on the

Did you have any luck with these?
I have a makerbot and am currently printing a set of mendel parts for myself - I can probably sort out those parts for you. The only stuff I don't currently have sorted that is on your list of spares is the thick sheet parts and power supply.

Len.

It would also be good to see some recommendations of places to get parts in NZ.
(I haven't started building a reprap, but hope to at some stage)
