GPL issue with Wanhao firmware and Teacup / Marlin ?

Let me start out that I have no horse in this race - I don't own a Wanhao printer, I don't know anyone who does, I'm not directly affected by it, and I don't even use Repetier's firmware. Also, everything I'm posting was gleaned off of a few comments from a Facebook post and then a google search or two. Still, I can't let it drop without typing it up somewhere.
It's my understanding that Teacup

I agree now looking at it that those specs don't make sense. I have the same power supply and it works fine for the heated bed and extruder, as does a friend of mine. Perhaps the manufacturer started making less-powered versions to match their incorrect spec?
Here is the power supply page on newegg:

Hello!
It somehow completely slipped my mind to post here as well, like we did last year.
We're doing another New England RepRap meetup (this is the second - our first was February 26, 2012) on July 20th, 2013 (in about two weeks - sorry for the short notice to anyone that's here but not on Google+).
The page for the event is here:
If you're interested, RSVP on that page! Here is the descri

Hey Aaron, are you fine with me sharing that on the New England RepRap Google+ page?
(If so, can you post that, add New England RepRap to the list of recipients, and I can share it from there with your name as the original poster?)
I wish you guys would do these on weekends.. During the week is almost impossible for me - at least this one is after work, but bringing my printer, setting it up, a

A few things..
So while it lets the New England RepRap account upload pictures directly, that isn't required to get pics on the page.
Go to your Google+ page and upload the pictures, then tag each one with "New England RepRap". It wants you to put a circle around the face of the "person" - I just put a small circle in the upper right corner of the picture and say that's New England RepRap. The

"Pages" on Google+ are a relatively new thing and this is the first one I've created, so I'm trying to figure this out now. (The main thing is that virtually of the RepRap news/articles seem have gravitated to Google+).
Usually that's just by seeing other Google+ members in one of your circles (like a "RepRap People" circle).
In this particular case we ALSO want the ability to post on something

Great turnout everyone! Multiple times I heard the verdict "Amazing success!". Glad to have been able to host, and glad it turned out so well!
We had over twenty people there, and NINE RepRaps. Incredible.
Not to step on any toes Dave, but in my own personal experience I've witnessed most of the technical people I know migrate over from Facebook to Google+ for their technical exchanges. One rea

I initially downloaded the binary, but couldn't figure out where to put skeinforge, so I went with the github version.

Since I just installed pronterface on my Mac so I could control two RepRaps (I usually use my linux laptop for RepRap stuff) I thought I'd throw in a little AppleScript trick too..
To make a pretty Application that looks real to MacOSX but actually just runs a script, do this:
Launch AppleScript Editor (Applications->Utilities), create a new script, and have its contents be:
do shell script

See you all tomorrow! Some people asked about bringing food/beverages/etc. Feel free. I have nothing here and I think we're looking at potentially 20 people (and as many as 8 RepRaps, in various states).

With respect to endflags, skip aluminum.. Find a can of soup somewhere in your pantry (or go buy a can of soup, or tomatoes, or something), open it, eat the food, and save the tin can. I made my first endstops out of aluminum and they're a pain - they wobble too much. Much better to make them out of a tin can. I have tin snips - just bring the can.
If you're just talking about 608 bearings, you

Yeah there's no question - bring it. I've got a crimper you can borrow, if you have the ribbon cable, pins, and housings.. As it is I'll probably be building or mounting the opto-endstops for the Prusa Mendel (iteration 2) that I built for the Museum of Science, as I'm picking that up from them on Saturday so I can finish it. Go to the hardware store and buy a supply of zip-ties. If you've got th

Toehead: No worries, it's a small world, I'm sure we'll all run into each other at some point. I agree with your assessment.
Larry, looking forward to seeing you again. Don't worry about your RepStrap - we'll leapfrog that soon enough.
I'll email out directions to my house soon. If you're planning on going and haven't posted yet, do so, so I can send you a message!

Okay let's cement the date: going with Sunday, February 26th 2012 for a RepRap Boston meetup at my house in Methuen, MA.
If you plan on attending, let me know so I can get a head count, plan ahead, etc.
When you let me know you're coming, mention whether you think you'll be bringing a printer (and maybe what type), so I can plan outlets, space, etc.
If you bring your printer, don't forget plasti

Okay I talked to my wife, and I've got permission to host.
How does February 25th sound to people? (a Sunday). I could also do February 11th, but the 25th is preferable (but I'll defer if more people can make the 11th and can't do the 25th).
Instead of the garage we're going to clean up two-three of the big rooms in our house upstairs and set up some tables.
So maybe a good idea is to have p

I have my working Sells Mendel, I've printed parts for two Prusa Mendels (one for me to assemble as my 2nd/backup printer and another as a gift, but I'm waiting on the B.O.M. for the vitamins for those), and I still have an old broken MakerBot on loan from work (which I'll probably have returned by whenever we meet up). I'd be fine w/meeting up too. A friend of mine in the area also has a workin

Yeah I hadn't thought to just look in the plate scad files to see how many were printed out.. All that leaves is the B.O.M. for the vitamin parts. Is this still being worked on?

...any follow-up to this?
I'm not even sure which *printed* parts are necessary.. I started printing out a Prusa Iteration 2 (never printed the first iteration), and went based on the README in github. That says:
6x frame-vertex-without-foot or 2x -without-foot and 4x -with-foot
2x coupling
3x endstop-holder
1x x-carriage
1x x-end-idler
1x x-end-motor
2x z-motor-mount
4x belt-clamp
8x bar-clam
