Hi guys, I realize this is an old thread, but I have your answer. Openbuilds is bullying the industry with lawyer BS. I am trying to find publications to defend my business (and livelihood) at the moment to prove that V-slot frame has been around far before OpenBuilds trademarked the word "V-slot" in 2016. OpenBuilds lawyers hunt down competition selling V-slot and threaten them with legal act

Thanks Sigxcpu; my printer is 24"x24", and I avoid ABS for large parts. There aren't too many premade options for this size bed.
I had a similar experience with PEI and PETG...if it's too hot it fuses...but I guess we can say the adhesion was present. Perhaps lower temps would yield better results. That's the secret with PEI. I see where others identify this, and also claim the adhesion of th

Thanks guys for the info. I'm about to try the TMC2130's for my BigBot printers and integrate positional error checking "Sounds" like I can expect better performance than the DRV8825's even, which I think perform very well, even from the arduino mega 8-bit controller.
To answer a previous question, the micro-stepping frequency doesn't have much to do with top speed of a motor. Voltage determi

Thanks prot0typ1cal for the suggestion! I think I have some Weld-on 3 even! Hopefully it's still in there with the acrylic stuff, and yeh I'll try it out. The page I referenced below talks about chlorinated solvents: "PEI is resistant to most solvents but is soluable in some chlorinated aliphatic compounds. It is also prone to stress cracking in chlorinated solvents. Hence PEI does not lend it

...and I suppose the plate must remain somewhat disposable, as it is possible to ruin one of these PEI sheets somewhat easy:/
My next test will be with .003" PEI film and epoxy...

1/8" thick PEI sheet. Thicker sheets are probably out of the question b/c they will get too pricey for 600x600 and are tough to find in that size.

Many RepRappers are moving to PEI build surfaces for their superior adhesion to the 1st layer. I make large RepRap printers and realize the potential of PEI as a great build surface, but have found the 3M468mp adhesive which most places sell to be inadequate. When I print 600mm large parts in PETG, the PEI separates peels away from the 3m468mp, then the tape globs and makes a lump in the build

Hi guys,
I just stumbled on this topic...I did this about 2yrs ago with very limited success. The aquarium pump is mostly unnecessary IMO, and here's why below. I'm sure it can work well, but costs more than a 30mm fan. The size of your pump will probably not help you much. I used a tiny aquarium pump at the heat break, and it cooled the heat break exactly to the air temp, but I still couldn'

Hi all,
I know this is an old topic, but was wondering if anyone had a reasonable amount of success or experience with pellet extrusion? I sell large printers and would like to consider pellet printing, if it is in fact upto a reasonable quality standard...
I don't care about no retraction as much...I'm mostly interested if the pellet extruders spurt or spew air often? I can fix ooze a differen

Thanks for the response! I don't suppose changing the SPI speed is a simple setting in the arduino dev or repetier.com menu's?

I suppose I'm commenting to myself here, but maybe someone will read this in the future:
I believe I've isolated the issue to the length of the LCD ribbon cables. Nothing to do with interference (shielding) that I can tell (I tried to create interference in a shorter cable but it would not fail). Perfectly crimped 12" IDC cables have communication errors "SD read error" in Repetier v1.0.0dev.

Well, the first thing on the list solved the problem. Shorter cables. There's a chance it could have been bad cables, twice...a lot of Chinese suppliers seem to not have the IDC crimp tool for the connector. Let's see if a perfectly crimped long ribbon cable fails...

Hi, I know this is an old topic, but it is something that is happening to my printers presently. To my understanding, this is still an open issue (and please point me to the solution if it is not).
I have 3 printers running nearly 24hrs/day, and am able to mix and match different components to determine causal factors. Presently I'm focusing on hardware. My printers run 120V on the HBP throug
