I've seen a few entries on Thingiverse where people have installed small (25W) light bulbs into the aforementioned 5 gallon buckets in lieu of desiccant. Don't know if I would leave it unattended.
I like Werner Berry's idea from YouTube. He uses a large Harbor Freight paint spraying vessel as a vacuum chamber to dry/store filament.
Personally, I'm thinking that 3DXtech's Zip-Loc mylar pouches

When I designed my own Delta repstrap, I put the controller and stepper motors on the top. With the stepper motors and endstops all at the top, the only cables that had to run up from the base were the incoming 12V power feeds and the SSR signal down for the heatbed. There is a school of thought that mounting the motors up high is a bad idea due to frame flex and making the frame top-heavy, but

Mean Well power supplies like the one you linked have trimpots next to the output terminals to adjust the voltage. The spec sheet says that the SE-350-12 can be cranked up to 13.5V, which may make a difference. The big question is how your RAMPS board will handle the higher voltages. I don't use one, but have heard that there's concerns if your voltage exceeds +12.00001 volts. If you can get

There is a gentleman south of the equator who lost his PLA-printed Cherry Pi delta printer inside his car on a hot day. My delta printer's PLA effector plate folded like a taco shell whenever I cranked the E3D up for printing ABS. Personally, I wouldn't put *any* PLA near a heated chamber.....

True story. A nearby small newspaper in the USA requested names/addresses of every pistol permit holder in a 3-county area, and overlayed the info on a Google map so that you could see if your neighbors had guns. NY State had to rush a law into place that exempted pistol permit

Speaking of the CP not-so-secret sauce, has anyone tried to attach un-tapped steel bearings directly to the rods (CF or aluminum) on the non-magnetic spring setup using CA? Just curious how it would work, since I have a hundr

Received my new E3D clone today,All together just got to install it in my printer and calibrate.
Where's the cooling fan? Most clone manufacturers forget to copy E3D's cooling fan, and the result is a hotend that jams as the heat rises in the finned heat sink.....

If you want to eliminate the controller from your suspect list, just wire the heatbed directly to your 12V power supply for testing. If it can't reach 110C wired directly to the power supply, you know what the problem is.....

I saw a post by someone that had some sort of shielded cables manufactured for additional length. My comment was only a caution to watch out for problems if you do need to extend the cables - both the GLCD and the SD card extender.
I just saw a neat feature last night on the Smoothie web site that I have never seen before. They have added SD card auto-mount with their external GLCD display. W

Just as an FYI, the current Megatronics 2.0 GLCD piggyback adapter board does *not* have the ability to pass the SD card interface through to the external display. It seems like it is more than just a few pins missing to make this work, as the only people who got it working that I know of are in the German section of this site and they had to modify the Megatronics board to get the proper signal

Want to?!?!? I'm about to stop my original rod carrier print (31% finished as I write this) to start over with yours!!!!!

Is the power supply under the heated bed, where it might be overheating?????

A better question is what type of power supply is being used? It sounds like it may be functioning at the upper threshold of its output capacity, popping the breaker from running the heated bed at a 100% duty cycle to hold 110C.....

QuoteOhmarinusFor me these kinds of solutions are not so handy, as syrup quality varies greatly per region. I still prefer just kapton tape for both PLA and ABS. Btw, PETG also sticks to it very well.
For me, printing PLA smells like pancakes. Adding some maple syrup jut sweetens the smell.
Seriously though, everyone has their own preferred bed adhesion method. I wish that I remembered what

I was about to order another Azteeg X5 Mini ($109) for the enclosed HotBot2 I'm building, but the 4XC has equivalent functionality for $5 less on this deal and the 5XC that I ordered for future dual extruders was only a few dollars more. After reading a few posts recently where people were complaining that they couldn't solder some parts on the Smoothieboard because it was such a good conductor

Would moving the ball sockets and spring retainer to the top of the carriage plate gain some of that 10mm back?????

My two cents is to wire the heated bed directly to your +12V supply without the SSR for a test. If it still struggles to get above 45C with no SSR in line, then the SSR isn't the cause of your problem.
I can tell you that my 300mm diameter Onyx heatbed (delta printer) took 40 minutes to reach 95C when run from 12V, and struggled to reach/hold 100C when I was trying to hit 110C. I picked up a M

How does the voltage on the 24V supply look when you power up the printer? Does that monster supply need a minimum current to help it keep the power regulated and clean? (Some of the ATX supplies need 0.1A.) How clean is the output?
I just went 24V myself two weeks ago. The 300mm diameter Onyx heatbed on my printer was taking 40+ minutes to reach 110C on 12V - even with an external SSR. Sev

I really hate to waiste my time and answer the original question, but :
I like the Megatronics solution because
1. it combines the Arduino and Ramps into 1 compact board
2. you can use the 1/32 drivers (though, at first I was confused about how many jumpers to use)
3. It is one of the rare boards that has two K-type thermocouple inputs native. It was (and still is

Maybe I am confused about the part. I was thinking that you were mounting it with the added portion up, lowering your build height by 20mm or so by having the vertical extrusion extend up above the bracket. If your idea was to put the added portion facing down, then blocking the side slots is obviously a problem and your design makes sense just catching the outside slot of the extrusion. If yo

On the Azteeg X5, several people have reported that powering a GLCD from the on-board 5V supply causes similar problems. Mine was a coin toss as to whether it would display the Smoothie banner or gibberish. Even if it did boot clean, it would change to gibberish after a few minutes. The recommended fix is to power the GLCD from an external 5V source. I got away with changing the board from in
