Hi,
I was setting my PWOT (Perimeter Width Over Thickness) setting (Carve Tab) last night. I observed some odd behaviour (I think)
I printed a 20mm square cube with 0 solid layers and 0 infill, to give me a nice single walled cube. I printed it and measured the wall thickness. I did this for several different PWOT settings the idea being that I'd get 'the right one' and know that was the correc

Hi,
I'm not sure if this is a bug or (more likely, I expect) I'm just doing something wrong.
Some objects fail when I try to slice fail with this message (repeated)

self.perimeterWidth, self.runningJumpSpace)

Hi,
I was having trouble getting my circles to come out of circles. Once I'd rechecked all my steps/mm and sorted out an eccentric X axis pulley, I turned my attention to lash (using Skeinforge Lash plug-in)
I've used a lash calibration object from Thingiverse (Here: , and also here: ) and I've now got good results. I'm finding my circles are correct within approx 1 mm (over a diameter of 40mm)

Thanks to everyone above,
I used Ardunio-22 and now MArlin complies, loads and moves/heats things just fine now (calibration notwithstanding)
(I did need to copy the Sanguino directory into the /hardware directory)
Just as an aside - my flat was so cold this morning that a real inside temperature plus/minus fluctuations meant the default MINTEMP of 5deg C caused my extruder to turn off before I

Hi,
I was trying to fill in the Skeinforge config setting.
What should go in the Skeinforge Craft box?
I assume it refers to the location of the craft set of plug-ins
But when I navigate to them c:docs and settings/pete/.skeinforge/profiles/extrusion//Jan 21st I can pick one of the .csv files (that represent plug-ins) - but which one?
There is no "craft.csv"
???
Thanks

I've a few questions about Repetier Integration with Slic3r
1) It seems that it doesn’t pick up any existing saved Slic3r configurations (i.e. from using Slic3r standalone). Is there any way to get it to do so (e.g. change some path name somewhere)?
2) I can't see how to get it to pick up start and end.gcode code. Am I missing something obvious?
3) When I open up the Slic3r configuration windo

Sadly it's not that (folder has same name)
I see that the Marlin software on the mendel-parts website is much simpler (smaller, less files) than the one I got off Github. I'll give the mendel-parts one a try
Fingers crossed
Thanks

Hi,
I'm having trouble compling the latest Marlin software. I'm not sure if it's something to do with paths, etc
Below is the error message I'm getting when I try to 'verify'. The files it seems to be saying aren't there, are there - I checked. Either in a subdirectory of the Ardunio application (version 1.0), or in the sketch directory I loaded marlin.pde from

Hi,
I'm trying to use Marlin Firmware instead of my old FiveD that came with my Gen electronics from Mendel parts.
I've think I've most of the info I need to change the configuration.h file but there's a few parameters that confuse me. Any help is most appreciated.
I've attached my changed configuration.h (all my changes are marked with "//**PF"

Excellent! - Thanks for quick reply
Sounds perfect.
Indeed - I'm quite surprised there isn't already a Repetier sub-area in the software folder.
Of course, once I've played with various options, I suspect I may well end up just using Repetier firmware and host
(if I can ever work out what the multitude of EEPROM values actually do)
Thanks

Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
Hi,
(BTW - Sorry if his is posted in the wrong place. It's more a software question than firmware but this seems to be the place that Repetier is being discussed. The closest thing the Software folder has is 'experimental' and that didn't feel quite right)
After a while away from playing with the firmware/slicing/printer front end software chain I'm looking at my options again. I liked the look

I think I've found an alternative solution
(though using pens to colour filament is something I plan to try at some point too )
I use Skeinforge to slice my STLs into gcode. The Carve Plug-in (http://fabmetheus.crsndoo.com/wiki/index.php/Skeinforge_Carve) has "Layers From" and "Layers To" options (see text below)
So, I'll create two models and print on one top of the other. Imagine the snowfla

Hi,
I'm hoping to print some snowflakes with people names on for Xmas
(Thanks go to the providers of my Snowflake base , and text creator )
To get two different colours, I'd like to change the filament once the snowflake has been printed but before the name, i.e. at the end of one layer height and before the next.
I've a wades extruder that allows easy (ish) swapping of the filament so I'm hap

Excellent - I'll give it a try soon
Do I need to start with a 'new' configuration.h and copy my specifics into it (e.g. E_STEPS_PER_MM, etc), or can I just use my previous one?
I'm still a bit worried about the speediness of it all. Imagine, I purely wanted to set things up simply so X&Y move no faster than 40mm/sec, what would I set the EEPROM settings to. I assume it's this lot:

Hi,
I tried just the piece of gcode that is causing me problems with Debug echo = on*
The code is:
M104 S180.0
M108 S40.0
M113 S0.0
M107
G91
G1 X5.0 Y-5.0 Z3.0
G90
G1 X135.0 Y0.0 F2000.0
G91
G1 E-10
G90
M104 S0
I've attached two log files. I ran it twice (one I homed, moved to 135,0, cleared the log and printed; the other one I just homed cleared the log and printed)

Hi,
Can anyone explain the Skeinforge Bottom plug-in operates in simple terms to me?
I've read the manual (http://fabmetheus.crsndoo.com/wiki/index.php/Skeinforge_Bottom) but don't understand how it translates into practical advice about printer calibration. (Wiki manual wording at bottom of post)
I have drawn some (quite probably wrong) conclusions based on what I experience with it. I'd be i

If I un-tick the box that says "Activate fill" will that still give me a top and bottom to the box or not?

Hi,
I've been making use of Repetier firmware and host for a couple of weeks. I thought it was time for some feedback:
- All in all, I really like it. I've a few problems with controlling it's speed but I feel once I have it under control it'll be my favoured firmware/host
Repetier has been hugely helpful in responding to my emails. Always a quick response
- I've only used RepSnapper before I

Possenier,
I had precisely the same issue as you (twice
I have now made a hotend similar to Adrain's mimi extruder (http://reprap.org/wiki/RepRap_Universal_Mini_Extruder) except that I use the mendel-parts v5 metal hot-end part (i.e. the part that didn't break). So, I have a PEEK part where you have a (broken) PTFE part. I put a PTFE lining down the inside. I'm working with 1.75mm filament

Repetier,
I located the command that causes the reset
It's "G91" in the last few lines of my gcode (note that there's two but the reset occurs on the first one - the code never reaches "G1 X5.0 Y-5.0 Z3.0"):
M104 S180.0
M108 S40.0
M113 S0.0
M107

G1 X5.0 Y-5.0 Z3.0
G90
G1 X135.0 Y0.0 F2000.0
G91
G1 E-10

M104 S0
That's the first G91 in the whole of my code (there's only 2 & the seco

Repetier,
(I don't really understand the lod) but I'll play with the last few commands and see if I cansee what causes the reset.
I'm not using a heated bed at all. So, I didn't pay attention to related commands. Not sure of that helsp or hinders

Hi,
More info from me.........
I tried to print having removed all M103 (and M101) codes. The result was the same. The part prints but the nozzle stops dead over its last position on the print. I noticed from the log that Repetier believes it has done every step in the print job including moving to 135, 0 (which it did not do).
Also, the position numbers on the Repetier Print screen show 0, 0,

Repetier,
I tried your good advice last night. It changed the EEROM values nicely and it seemed to address the 'going too slowly' speed issue I had. I need to sit down properly with some cups of tea and do it all properly (calibrating and modifying distances, etc) but it's looking good. A few issues (p.s. I hoping this is turning into some 'useful feedback on Repetier' now and not just 'please h

Thanks for that - I'll give it a shot tonight
I just spotted this setting under Etruder Control
Important: This is the speed, filament is pushed inside the extruder not the speed at the nozzle!
If you set the extruder steps_per_mm for 1mm pushed outside, sile skainforge<40 needed it, you must
increase the value to reflect this. (*filament_diameter^2/nozzle_diameter^2)

Repetier,
Wow! - superfast and comprehensive response. Thanks.
I can't try any changes till Weds evening but here's my initial ponderings.
Host
I did use the Repetier-Host as Host software - and jolly fine it is too. It moved my motors & heated my hot end. I tried to use M206 (e.g. "M206 3 3 40.0" to try to change the x axis steps per mm) but no luck. I didn't try using the EEPROM settings
