I have to chime in here. I got parts for my tantillus for the z axis from both wardtech and Sublime and there is no comparison. If you care about quality and parts fitting as well as finish, just get the parts from Sublime and not worry about anything. I have a stack of useless parts in my bin that I thought I was saving money on. You get what you pay for. The axis alone was enough for me tby robtbldr - Tantillus
G92 and g1 seem to have no effect on the behavior of z. I tried slicing through kisslicer with different heights. At this point I am trying to move the endstop as close as I can but its a bit hit or miss.by robtbldr - Tantillus
I mean in the start code. The rest of the layers are fine.by robtbldr - Tantillus
I cannot seem to get the fine tuning of z axis with g code. Any other settings that may inhibit this from working?by robtbldr - Tantillus

I was noticing my extruder motor seems to be stalling leading to prints that are sparse. I tried changing the gear, cleaning out the hobbed bolt, increasing the pololu voltage. I also tried tightening the screws and also opening them up. When the filament is not stalling, the plastic is coming out of the heated end just fine. Any suggestions? Thanks.by robtbldr - Tantillus
It could be just me and it probably is, but I ave tried to print out the 4mm and 5mm drum but can't get it to fit over the motor shaft. I had to drill it out but introduced a wobble. That and the nut holder seems way small for #4 nut. Did I mess up the settings somewhere? Thanks.by robtbldr - Tantillus
Do I need to print these parts on the finest settings? I was worried about strength for the z arms. Would the medium or course settings work? It took 1 hr to print the z tensioner.by robtbldr - Tantillus
I was looking at printing the lower drum but am not clear where i might find the settings for only perimeters, no wipe and no retract might be in kisslicer. Thanks.by robtbldr - Tantillus
How does the z axis switch work with this setup. I had a tough time getting the z axis with the regular tantillus perfect for printing and was hoping that this would be a solution to eliminating the minutia of adjusting the micro switch.by robtbldr - Tantillus
If I were to use a stock tantillus with the wider 1/4" ptfe tubing and 3.0mm hotend, would that lead to problems down the road? Also had a quick question about kisslicer with pokey's settings pauses for a while before starting leaving a blob and then again after the first layer. After that all is well but I noticed the blobs at the beginning and was wondering if there was a way to get rid of thby robtbldr - Tantillus
I was wondering if there was any problem using 1.75mm pla when the tantillus was designed for 3.0mm? I put 1.75mm through my machine and it seemed to print the calibration cubes ok. Are there any long term effects or problems I should expect doing this like constant jamming or something? Thanks.by robtbldr - Tantillus
I was having a problem loading the calibration cube into pronterface after slicing with kisslicer with all the tantillus config files. I get index error: list index out of range. When I load up with repetier host, it work fine so I was wondering what I was doing wrong. thanks.by robtbldr - Tantillus
Is it weird that this line causes my machine to move in the opposite direction? I don't mind the speed just the wrong direction. Everything homes in correctly and moves correctly. Where should I look to correct this error?by robtbldr - Slic3r
Hi, when I deleted line by line in the gcode, I noticed that this line G1 Z0.250 F7800.000 was the one that caused my print to go crazy. How do I get rid of it in settings or do I just manually edit the gcode? Thanks.by robtbldr - Slic3r
No problem controlling axis in pronterface. Goes up and down when asked to. Also endstops work as well. I tried kisslicer to rule out problems with pronterface and it works without problems. I must be missing something simple.by robtbldr - Slic3r

I have made z min -1 in the firmware and got rid of the homing sequence for the print. It still heats up then goes the opposite direction. If I slice the file in slic3r .71 , I don't have the problem. Is there a setting I could try or should I just stick with the old version of slic3r? By the way, I just tried .84 and I still have the same problem. Thanks for the input.by robtbldr - Slic3r
Hi, I have printed with this machine before with sprinter. In pin.h, I changed the pins on the Max to the same as min. In config, I got homing working by making adjustments to the z direction and homing. The only thing I'm not 100% sure about is if I changed the pins correctly. Thank you for all the great ideas so far.by robtbldr - Slic3r
Hi guys, was wondering if anyone could help. I'm using marlin firmware and the newest slic3r and the newest pronterface. After loading up g-code and pressing print, the axes go to home, the heater gets ready to correct temperature, the the z axis goes the wrong way and doesn't stop. I assume it's looking for a min end stop or something but I only have a max for z. Where would I begin to lookby robtbldr - Slic3r
Where in the firmware might I be able to do this?by robtbldr - RAMPS Electronics
Hi guys. Hope someone can help me. I am trying out marlin from sprinter but can't get it to home in the direction I want. If I setup x home dir to 1 instead of -1, the switch is hit but it doesn't stop the machine. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.by robtbldr - RAMPS Electronics
If its not too much trouble, please detail how the thermocouple should be setup. Mainly the wiring. Thank you.by robtbldr - RAMPS Electronics
Hi. I want to hook up a thermocouple to my ramps 1.3. I have a ad595 ready to wire up and notice it requires 5v, ground and signal. What would be best way to hook this up? I was thinking of wiring 5v to someplace on the board that has an open spot and the same with ground. Any recommendations? As for signal, I was thinking of using one of the available pins and changing pin config or wouldby robtbldr - RAMPS Electronics
Hi. Am new here but lurking for a long time. I just wanted to know if it was possible to run 2 motors on the y axis instead of the z axis without too much of a problem. I'm running ramps 1.3. Thanks for the input.by robtbldr - RAMPS Electronics
