Quotemarkstephen A sneak-peek at the bushing plate. Hope to be testing later on today / tomorrow. We'll see how it goes. Mark You need the mount for the limit switch. Woops, wasn't paying attention. But it might be worth trying to incorporate the stepper mounting screws. If it could be done it would be 1l less screw (and nut) and wouls gaurantee the bearings didn't wobble about.by TCase - Smart_Rap

I don't like videos made with phone cameras constantly going out of focus and bouncing around. Videos made with a static camera (webcam) suitably placed are much better. TCby TCase - Reprappers
QuoteDale Dunn MattMoses, I like this idea of a single stack of magnets. The force of the magnetic coupling could be largely negated by parking the tool over or under a stack of opposite polarity magnets mounted in the magazine. The only problem is, the magnets are where I want the tool body (extruder, digitizing probe, engraving spindle, etc.) To be. So one magnet and a thin steel plate. TCasby TCase - Developers
Quotetjb1 QuoteLevent If I will put the plastics under the carrier to hold the x axes belt on this machine the angle of belt will increase and make harder to move left and right. If you look closely you can understand what I mean. He was saying that the lower belt should go through the clamps, not the upper. The way you have it would reverse the axis direction but I don't think it would have aby TCase - General
The Xaxis belt is connected wrongly, the clamps on the carraige should hold the bottom run of the belt. TCaseby TCase - General
The second picture in the first post shows the belt on your x axis connected wrongly. The clamps on the cariage connect to the bottom (split) run of the belt. You notice that connected that way the belt is level between the pulleys not wonky. TCby TCase - General

How about using a stick of wax in someting like a paste extruder sat on top of a hot end? TCby TCase - General
Light pitting will not cause problem with bushings, it will help hold the lubricant. If you have silver steel(drill rod) or hardened steel smooth rods and they are going to be hanging around for a while it pays to grease them and wrap then in cling film.by TCase - Tantillus

I have used vapour baths containing acetone, ether and carbon tetrachloride, I have avoided problems by having a water cooled coil over the container to recondense the vapours. I always used a hot plate for heating as it was easier to control the temperature and reduced risks from spillage. Using this method it is possible to hold a naked flame over boiling ether with no effect. TCby TCase - General

The pressure that a plastic vessel can withstand depends on mainly in the tensile strength of the material and the shape of the vessel. The required " industry standard" for carbonated drinks bottles is 150 PSI and I have tested them to 200 -250 when demonstrating the safety of water rockets (hydraulic test). I have calipers from Aldu and Lidl at £8 each, I checked them against .5" and 1" standard test blocks tht I have and one was checked against slip gauges owned by a mate. They were as accurate as a Moore & Wright that I have and a borrowed Mitutoyo. Not as many bells and whistles as the posh one though but £8, what can i say.
