thanks Sublime I luckily picked out a 5v lcd that I want to use. I sent you a pm with some questions about buying some items from you.by deathstar - Tantillus
Also does i matter if the lcd is 3.3v or 5v?by deathstar - Tantillus
Just asking more questions here. So how long does a spool of filament last? on average how many Tantillus machines can be made from one spool or about how many items on average. What size filament are we using given the hot end you put in the build list.by deathstar - Tantillus
I was looking at that very encoder last night. I think I will wait until Sublime has some for sale and just get them from him.by deathstar - Tantillus
Thanks for all of the info so far guys! WhenI said helicopters I meant actual Blackhawks lol not the toy ones which is what I am assuming you were talking about Willworkforplastic. Although when I build my printer I will be printing out a quadracopter as my first project so thanks for the advice on using PLA. I am very interested in your heat bed I hope that you can get it up and going soon! Onceby deathstar - Tantillus
I will hopefully order the acrylic from you soon I think that it is very reasonably priced IMHO. I may take a while to build this but I intend to see it through. I would love to use it in my shop to print out knobs and what not as spares for our helicopters in case we run out of stocked itemsby deathstar - Tantillus
So here is my list. please tell me if this will be acceptable for what I want to do. Stepper motors Pololu Stepper Drivers Ramps I think the pre soldered board is the option I want Arduino Mega 2560 SDRamps J-Head MK-IV-B 16x2 LCD Panel Still looking for a 20 position encoder, 90 watt power supply, female barrel connector, and the fans. the title says it all! I have never built a 3d printer before and had my heart set on a Rostock but after researching this awesome machineI have decided that I need it in my life. I have questions so bear with me especially since I am new to all of this. Which Nema 17 stepper motors are required for this? I read that the max the should be is 40mm but I dont know which ones I should buy. I was looby deathstar - Tantillus
Well i checked out the Tantillus and it is really small lol. I read that the print area is about 3.9X3.9x3.9. I am looking for something portable but I wanted to still be able to print Rasberry pi cases and some slightly bigger objects. It will work fine for printing out battery enclosures for projects but I also wanted to print cases for some SNES games I have laying around. I will keep lookingby deathstar - General
Thank you for your advice I will research the Tantillus and see what I will be needing. At this point based on what you said I think I am wanting to use RAMPS because it has more features that I want already available. I do not think I will use an extra extruder for my first build but I do like having the option to add one, also printing directly form an SD card would be something that I will wanby deathstar - General
Hello all my name is Joe and I am from Austin, Tx. I have been cruising Thingiverse for months now and checking out all of the new RepRap printer versions as they come out and I am anxious to start building my own. I am an Electrical and Avionics Technician and I am pretty handy so I think that with some guidance from you experienced builders and users I will be able to successfully build, calibrby deathstar - General
Sory abou the grammar Im from Texas. I plan on buying the Sanguinololu and using it with a Prusa Mendel build. I also plan on using Wade`s Geared Extruder because it seems reliable.by deathstar - General
Ok sorry fo rso many posts I think i figured it out I will definately be going this route though seems alot easier. Does anyone have any experience using ATMEGA1284 instead of ATMEGA644P? I cant wait to start building thisby deathstar - General
So If I buy the Sanguinololu v1.3a Bare PCB I will also have to buy all the othr parts for it or does it come with everything I need already? Also since this is an all in one solution it is the arduino and motherboard right or am I getting this all confusedby deathstar - General
Thanks Im just trying to wrap my head around it all i will build one on paper, just pick the parts an post it here and maybe you all can help me with any problems i may run in to and Im pretty handy and my job is mothing but troubleshooting anywaysby deathstar - General
Im new to the RepRap world and I have alot of questions to ask. First off I want to build a new Mendel RepRap so out of your experience what is the best motherboard to use with it? what are all the parts that I will need? Is this better than going out and buying a Makerbot? Should I use a heated bed? How long will it take to build? Is it easier to work with on Linux or windows?by deathstar - General
