As I'm unable to purchase things online, does anyone in the Vancouver area have a spare resistor I can buy/trade? neptixby neptix - Tantillus
So I burnt out my hotend resistor the other day, and I can't find a replacement for it. Lee's and Main both hae 5.6 Ohm, 2 W resistors, but they are the wrong physical shape. Brad, I'm wondering where you got the resistors for the kits? neptixby neptix - Tantillus
Did you figure this one out? I'm having the same problem neptixby neptix - Tantillus
Ok, I can rule out the hobbed bolt, the skipping is occuring at the extruder stepper, not the bolt. I redid the Estep calibration and found that it was out a bit(was 450 now 436) and that seems to have made the problem worse. I've changed the temperature from 190 to 225, and I've found it sticks best at 220. It's not a retraction issue, as it starts happening while it's still printing the raftby neptix - Tantillus
I've been having strange problem. My prints work great, at first. The take a little bit for the plastic to get flowing, but the raft takes care of it(although I'd prefer if kisslicer supported skirts) good bed adhesion, good flow of plastic. Then the print porgresses, and everything falls apart. For some reason, there are patches in the print, weak spots. These patches usually last for maybby neptix - Tantillus
Ok, reflashing the firmware seems to have done it, even though hard booting the printer didn't. Anyway, I can print now! Kindof. After about 30-45 minutes of printing, my extruder motor starts skipping sometimes. Not that often, just enough to reduce pressure and leave filament that is too narrow to stick. I've noticed that I seem to have slightly variable pressure throughout a print, leavinby neptix - Tantillus
I've been at this for about 13 hours now and I'm getting a little frustrated. I need to double check some basics, because I have lost the ability to get a model centered(or even entirely in) the build area. Home for the tantillus is in the back right corner, yes? This home point, is it 0,0, or -50, -50? because I'm pretty sure it's the first, and my printer is pretty sure it's the second. Thanby neptix - Tantillus
I had it loosen too, and found that over tightening it made for too much friction against the bearings in the extruder. So I tightened it against the nut on top of the extruder gear, locking them together really hard, and that seems to have done the trick. Now I just need to figure out why my machine's extrusion rate slows down for 10-20 second periods during a print. Not the extruder itselfby neptix - Tantillus
Well, i fixed the random motino thing by reflashing the firmware, and i think I've got slic3r plating properly now. Now i just need to get the filament to stick to the bed and I should be good....by neptix - Tantillus
I had this problem too, I did three things to fix it. I'm not sure which one(or combination) it was that did it, but it's working now. I took the clamp off the z motor and realigned the motor to be more in line with the z shaft, I pur the clamp back on, but not quite as tight as before, and I did turn up the potentiometer a bit. Hope that helps Jeffby neptix - Tantillus
Ok, so I had slic3r .71 for some reason. going to 0.72b fixed the problem, for about 10 minutes, now it's back. I cannot find a way to make it centre the prints anywhere other than 100,100. The graphic in prointerface indicates the print is in the centre of the bed, but when I print, it goes off the corner again. Any ideas? Oh, other neat thing, when I access the card menu with the encoder, tby neptix - Tantillus
I can't actually print the cube test file, as it gets centred on the far corner(100,100) of the build area, so 3/4 of it is off the table. I have had the same problem running slicer independantly, then loading the gcode, not sure why. and yes, I have loaded the slic3r tantilus config files. Jeff Edit: Apparently slic3r no longer likes the config files, so this is probably it, it complains aboby neptix - Tantillus
Ok, so I'm pretty much ready to print, I think I've got all my other problems worked out(with a few stupid questions to brad ) has anyone else had trouble getting the plater to put things in the centre of the build area? No matter where I place it in the plater, or just load the file and let it auto place, it ends up centred on 100,100. I changed the centre point in slic3r to 50,50, with no rby neptix - Tantillus
The new picture helped, thanks. I've got all the motors working, now I'm just figuring out how to printby neptix - Tantillus
I have tried adjusting the trimpots, but I'm not actually sure where the range starts and stops. According to the specs for those pots, the pointer is the side opposite the flat? I've tried them in a variety of positions, but no joy so far. Jeffby neptix - Tantillus
So I've got my machine together, but I've run into a snag. I can't get the motors to work properly. The Z motor is the only one I can jog, and all the -z jogs work fine, as do the 0.1 and 1 jogs in the +z. when I hit the +10Z button, the z axis stops working entirely, until a hard reset. I can't get the X/Y motors to jog correctly, even at temp. They move, but are very jerky and do not moveby neptix - Tantillus
