I'm modify the tantillus case to hold 20cm*20cm*20cm print volume , hope you like it. I've uploaded to the lasercut case to The tantillus a2 printer has a limited build volume (10cm 10cm 10cm) , so I build a version named tantillus a3 (16cm 16cm 16cm ) , this one make tantillus a3 even large , it has build volume of 20cm 20cm 20cm, which can install a popular heated bed (20cm) Get your cornerby leonal - Tantillus
After play with my tantillus a2 (thingiverse id: 480860) , i plan to make a more large tantillus with built volume 16cm*16cm*16cm , with acrylic case , I name it tantillus a3 , here is the preview of the case :by leonal - Tantillus
that's really useful , we can have compatible ultimaker carriage used in tantillus now! but the print volume is reduced , that's not good , I hope i can have a large tantillus (about 16cm*16cm*16cm) with compatible ultimaker xy carriage.by leonal - Tantillus
I have made a metric version named tantillus A2, hope it can help. model is shared in thingiverse , modified firmware is in github hope you can find it useful.by leonal - Tantillus
Yes, these are difficult to find , I'm using LCD 2004 smart controller now which include the SD card reader and encoder , all in one .by leonal - Tantillus
I have some idea to check that problem: 1. check if the tube is large enought for filament to go through, if not , you need enlarge the tube ends with 3.2mm drill if filament is 3mm 2. check if filament can go through the hotend by using hands (need raise the hotend's temperature and remove the bowden clamp first) , if not , there may something in the hotend blocked , need some clean 3. finallyby leonal - Tantillus
You need make some modification to the firmware , take this as a reference: QuoteGeert Hello Because of my LCD 16x2 doesn't work anymore, I was planning of using the same LCD screen like you did (the bigger, 20x4 i suppose?). I use this type of LCD on all my other printers, I like the bigger screen with more to see on it! Did you have to upgrade the firmware also, or did it worked fine withoby leonal - Tantillus
A running demo on youtube: , hoping to inspire more makers to produce Tantillus A2by leonal - Tantillus
I've not tried CNC router , I use laser cut. I think you need to do some change of the dxf file if you are using a router. Quoteledaero I have a CNC router, but AFAIK, there isn't a laser cutter in the entire country (I have the first and - so far - only CNC router). Do you think it would cut fine on a router? I have been wanting a Tantalus-style printer for ages...by leonal - Tantillus
It's 6mm acrylic , protecting not removed.by leonal - Tantillus
If you are interested , you can get dxf file from thingiverse (thing id:480860)by leonal - Tantillus
My new tantillus case come , it's nice and light to be picked up , and I give it a new name "Tantillus A2"by leonal - Tantillus
That's a problem , but you can get the top cover assembled after setting up cable. Tantillus's main feature is tiny or small , portable , 8"x8" is too big for tantillus , and it will not be tantillus, it will be ultimaker . but i'm thinking of 5"x5" or 6"x6" Quotecns1 Hi, Sorry to point this out but I'm afraid that it won't be easier to assemble than the regular acrylic case model. The hardesby leonal - Tantillus
GT2 Z axis, a nice choice , I'm also planning doing that .. and if you want a silent printer , you need to discard screw Zaxis and discard printed gears.by leonal - Tantillus
dibond version with nonscrew Z? Which one? Quotekarabas I am interested in dibond version with nonscrew Z. Dibond 3mm is available.by leonal - Tantillus
this is optional feature , another two key features: 1. tiny and small , so portable. 2. string drive , so precise. QuoteTraumflug QuoteleonalNo one interest with this version ? it is much more easy to build and it does not need any printed corners. It's no longer a Tantillus, then, right? There are many sheet-box designs already. I always considered the full printability to be the key feature.by leonal - Tantillus
As the extruder changed , now it has space to mount a raspberry pi and pi camera . so remote printing can be supported by tantillus. raspberry pi just under the new extruder. a printed pi camera mount attached in the case.by leonal - Tantillus
Some more pictures with good rendering , I've also attached a Smart Control LCD and a direct extruder I reworked from Compact Bowden Extruder (thing#275593), the extruder is mounted with old two up holes with one mount plate designed by myself. No one interest with this version ? it is much more easy to build and it does not need any printed corners.by leonal - Tantillus
I want to design a new lasercut case for tantillus , some features including: 1. have top and bottom cover (much more like the classic printed case.) 2. have mounting site for lcd2004 smart control (replacement of old 2 line lcd) 3. have a SD card slot in left side 4. USB site in backside, the classic one is difficult to plug in and out usb wire. 5. A raspberry pi mounting site? 6. and camera moby leonal - Tantillus
Another one I build, This time I'm using printed lm8uu bushings, they are working now , some tips here 1. Using sharp edge of the rob to clean inner of the printed bushing, the bushing need stick to the rob very well, too tight not work , too loose not work. 2. Better testing X, Y movement before mount Z axis 3. The two fishing line for X axis or Y axis need to be the same tight 4. Up Gear andby leonal - Tantillus
QuoteRobonz So right bout the LM8u not liking rotation. I was thinking about replacing the LM8u with sintered bronze bushings. Are they easy to find? I'm also interested in itby leonal - Tantillus
> 1. Add some printed nut adapters to use metric bolts and nuts as I can only get the metric ones. You could have built the metric version from WillWorkForPlastic's repo. ***That's right , but before I discovered the metric one by WillWorkForPlastic, I already get yours printed! I'll test WillWorkForPlastic's later > 2. Replace 4 printed LM8uu bushings with real LM8uu bearing as i failedby leonal - Tantillus
After been working several months to build an Tantillus by myself , finally , i get this one (see attachment) . I plan share my experience in this topic i created , main change as following: 1. Add some printed nut adapters to use metric bolts and nuts as I can only get the metric ones. 2. Replace 4 printed LM8uu bushings with real LM8uu bearing as i failed with printed ones 3. Replace Extruderby leonal - Tantillus
