Have you loaded the Tantillus Slic3r configuration files? I've been using the default 0.5mm and getting great results. Hope it helps!by ernchesto - Tantillus
Yup - I was just being a twit. I got it figured. And I'm really impressed with this quality! Wow - I'm pretty easy to please right now too because having this just changes everything for me!by ernchesto - Tantillus
I've been away from Tantillus for a bit and want to print from the SD card. I've got the g code file saved on the card in a folder (PrintObjects). I'm confused as to how to actually get it to print. At Card Menu>I scroll to PRINTO->1, CLICK, then it shows PRINTO->1/.. , if I click here it just shows the temperature and then Partial Rele000% What am I missing? Or is there a LCD referenby ernchesto - Tantillus
Hi Lisa, Bummer to hear you broke another. Just in case you'd care to try the fix I did on my broken end, I've attached a picture. I did the regular CA gluing (which didn't hold for long), and then did it again with an added little zip-tie. It's now the end I'm most confident to tighten up. - Just in case you want to give it a go before dismantling your Tantillusby ernchesto - Tantillus
OK - I reinstalled everything. It's strange - I'm able to load the config file without warnings when only slic3r is open. But when I access slic3r through pronterface I get the issue. I've saved the config file to the slic3r root directory, no luck.by ernchesto - Tantillus
Funny - I rebooted and re-dl'd the config files and am still getting the same warnings. I'll re-install slicer and pronterface and see if that does it.by ernchesto - Tantillus
Nice Just an update - filament is loaded without any issues, so I'm hoping she holds Captain!! I downloaded the latest config files and am getting some error messages (see image). Is anyone else getting these? I unfortunately deleted the config files I used last night....by ernchesto - Tantillus
I've got it all zip-tied and glued back together. Loading filament momentarily... Thanks for the link Dax. I think that's a first of me and youtube being on the same side of the screen!by ernchesto - Tantillus

You guys were right - I wasn't sleeping when I got home from VHS tonight - after my Tantillus was finally printing parts like a professional! Barely a newborn, this printer rocks. (thanks to all the great advice and help from the nice folks at the build night). Anyway, I load up Tanitllus in it's cozy little bike travel box and on to the Xtracycle for its relatively gentle, but dark - with someby ernchesto - Tantillus

Thanks for your answers folks. I've got news! Not good news, however. I was testing while upping the pots adjustment. Before I knew it I went into firefighter mode Does this help point to the direction of the issue?by ernchesto - Tantillus
Just an update and a Q: Sublime was kind enough to exchange my problematic servo controllers with new ones. Upon installation, my extruder works (no filament in it yet). The X has also come to life, but it's still giving me some grief. I've re-lubricated the rods, tested the motor de-coupled from the drive gear, and have found the a pretty sweet spot in gear meshing. So now that the motor hasby ernchesto - Tantillus

Looking forward to seeing some prints Eric!!by ernchesto - Tantillus
OK - nice to know I'm not being a twit. Liking the RAMPS reset.by ernchesto - Tantillus
OK - I actually was doing adjustments with the hot end heated. I seem to go round and round in teensy increments and am not getting the motion in the extruder (or the X). I'm going to pick up some Vaseline today to try and help with X. I took a break from pots adjusting the extruder, as I was thinking that perhaps my gears were jammed, as Eric had mentioned about his. So I shut it all down to disby ernchesto - Tantillus
Awesome. Hey Eric - did you mess with your extruder gear jam? I just dismounted mine to test by hand, and it doesn't seem too rough to turn - but I'm at least getting some death-screech-knock out of it. I'm curious if yours has started working through your tweaks. Any news?by ernchesto - Tantillus

I dunno, it feels pretty even with my Y. I spent some good effort in finding the sweet spot in the gearing for this axis. The only thing I've not done is lubricate the rods, as I don't have any Vaseline. I considered coconut buttering them, but it doesn't feel like it's worth the risk (Tantillus being allergic to coconuts or som'n). I don't want to be a pain in the ass or wallet, but I'd be supby ernchesto - Tantillus
Thanks for the late-night response. I'm starting to feel like it's just me and this little f^*#k^ng phillips head. Turning degree by degree, time after time.. Funny thing is that I can just keep turning and turning, and it doesn't seem to change too much. I"m sure I've done a few laps by now - but I'll put on my lab coat (code for beer) and have another go. It certainly gives me a greater appreby ernchesto - Tantillus
Figure I best start a new thread on this... So I just got home, did some stuff, plugged in Tantillus and my (problematic) X motor is like a small, but determined man at my door - knocking, knocking, knocking. Pronterface isn't even connected yet - but this is actually the state that I left it at, as I recall. OK - gonna spend more time massaging this little phillips screw head that I don't quitby ernchesto - Tantillus

Well that sure speeds things up by not shutting the power off each time! I was being cautious. BTW - the one for my X axis is labelled as a Pololu md09b - so I'm guessing that this is supposed to be less sensitive/easier to adjust. Well, I must be really bad at this because I can't seem to get this guy to wake up. I've increased the current in ~ 5degree increments all the way around. Did a bunchby ernchesto - Tantillus
So does this mean that the stepper drivers/heat units we have with our Tantillus kits are not what we should be using? I'm confused, because my Z and Y seem to be working fine. My X doesn't work aside from the odd hellscreech it gives out (without any notable motion), if it cares to give that much. And I've not seen my extruder motor turn yet (I'd replaced the stepper driver with the one I'd trieby ernchesto - Tantillus
