Your tantillus kit must be different from mine. I've got the one where the SD port is attached to the board (I have to reach inside) and there is no cable. Is there a cable available somewhere that I could use to get easier access to the SD port and also get the port out of the path of the print bed? Nice design work. tjhj2 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Tby Lisa M - Tantillus

Home is back right for me. I got the android walker from makerbot. The image shows the wind up slot on the left yet mine printed on the right. It also doesn't explain why the raised text on tags I've made comes out mirrored. I was thinking it might be some setting in Slic3r causing the issue. I haven't been using Pronterface. I've just been taking the .stl straight into Slic3r ...which meanby Lisa M - Tantillus
Hi folks, My tantillus keeps printing everything mirror image. Sometimes this doesn't matter. ...but sometimes it does. For example an object with raised text or a bot to work with windup walkers where the wind up opening ends up on the wrong side so the object has to walk backwards. How do I fix this in Slic3r.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Yay! I'm back in business. I think the nut on the hob bolt came loose. This time, now that I understand what all the parts do a little better, I made sure it was good and tight and locked it in place with nailpolish (don't have loctite).by Lisa M - Tantillus
Well I didn't even transit mine. It just did this all on it's own. I'm wondering if the hobbed bolt put some weird pressure on it. I could swing by John's ...if he is around on Friday or Saturday maybe? If not, maybe you could put it in the mail. Thanks!by Lisa M - Tantillus
Wow you are fast I'm wondering about physically supporting the motor underneath instead of hanging it from the extruder body. Would that help to reduce stress on the part? Also, can you mail me the part? I'm busy with various curling obligations Monday-Thursday now. The only evening I have free is Friday. I could try and meet somewhere Friday... or if you are at John's sooner, maybe you coby Lisa M - Tantillus
I tried to print last thursday in the evening and my filament stopped feeding for some reason. I didn't have time to look at it then. I came home after a weekend away to do a print and the extruder unloaded filament just fine. However part way through loading it started making a horrible noise. The culprit... broken ABS part. It makes me sad because it was just starting to work well. I'by Lisa M - Tantillus
Good to know about the resistor and extruder. Thanks for posting your process.by Lisa M - Tantillus
I'm Rep Rappin' Yo! Check out my new fan mount! ...note video speed is at 200% so yah my Tantillus is not on steroids ...although that would be impressive right?by Lisa M - Tantillus
Yes sir, it sure does ...best print ever started and looking good. I'm printing another fan mount to replace my busted one. *gleefully rubbing hands together* ...video to follow.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Woah crazy looking! Math art is weird. In fact math and art in the same object is a rather new concept for me. Does this help? http://replicat.org/generatorsby Lisa M - Tantillus
...also you were right. I've reglued the piece, moved the loop but wrapping it one more time around the bar so that the loop is not in the y end ..and now it clamps down nice and tight over the cable I've pulled back through. Apparently having the loop in the Y end is bad.by Lisa M - Tantillus
I broke another one I was trying again to see the position of the loop. When I undid the bolt the end stop wiggled a bit to reveal that it was cracked through again. Much sadness here. Any chance you could mail another one to me?by Lisa M - Tantillus
The both ends of the cable are going around the bolt on one side (not either side of the bolt) ...and I've tried one side and then the other of the bolt. I'm not sure if the loop is hitting the bolt. I put a second washer in testing your theory that the bolt may be pushing against the rod creating a gap under the washer ...but that didn't make a difference either.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Yup did that a few times... even before you suggested it. ...but the cable being loose happens before I even move anything. I simply can't tighten it.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Well my rubber washer didn't work either. *sigh* I'm sure I don't understand the physics ...but apparently it matters that the cable is going the same way as it is on the left side. I guess the cable from the back should be looped and the cable coming from the front of the machine should double back through. Essentially the opposite of the left side. I still can't wrap my head around how thby Lisa M - Tantillus
I don't remember if this is "that" side. However I'm pulling the cable towards the back, as you say. The looped cable is at the front of the end and the cable that doubles back through goes under the washer. The one doubling back goes towards the back of the tantillus. ...I'm not sure how that should make a difference. It is under the washer.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Hi Sublime, It's not loosening after it starts printing. I can't get it tight at all. I did remove the bolt and washer and tried putting tape under the washer to make it more "grippy" in the hopes that would create enough friction on the cable ...but it didn't work. Essentially I pull the cable tight. I tighten the bolt as far as I can go, the cable coming out the front side of the end feelsby Lisa M - Tantillus
A little better now... I'm having trouble with the right side Y End though. I just can't seem to get it tightened well enough. I've tightened as much as I dare (small cracking noises and almost the extent of my personal strength). The other bolts are holding the cable well but on this one, the cable slacks the second I let go of the bolt. I've even tried some kapton tape on the underside oby Lisa M - Tantillus
Thanks for posting this. It definitely helps with recognizing future potential symptoms. I was wondering about what to do if/when the hot end clogs. I'm using cheap filament too and have already seen some evidence of dirt.by Lisa M - Tantillus
The vaseline seemed to do the trick. I haven't had to do anything other than that and it's working well again I printed out Robot Dreams spool holder last night ...I maybe should have realized it would take 6 hours ...man was I up late or should I say early.by Lisa M - Tantillus
That was pretty handy. Definitely put it through the paces. It's still a little stiff in the Y direction but lots of vaseline and keeping my fingers crossed. I'm printing out RobotDreams spool holder. So far so goodby Lisa M - Tantillus
I tried another print. It looked like it was going pretty well at first ...but the end result was somewhat baffling. G-Code or stepper? I'm not sure. Have a look and tell me what you think.by Lisa M - Tantillus
I made the mistake of forgetting to load the tantillus config for a couple of my .stl to gcode files and they did similar stuff. Ended up in the wrong place on the platform. Also they nozzle ended up moving back and forth and deposting big blobs and stuff. I'm printing a cat right now... because I can ...but the first attempt didn't go to well until I remembered the config *facepalm*by Lisa M - Tantillus
Here is the cube ...hard to get a good picture of something this small without a macro. You can see the bulge layer though and there are a couple of layers where you can see small gaps ....so the flow wasn't consistent or the movement of z wasn't consistent. I am using cheap filament from Rep Raper.by Lisa M - Tantillus
I did upgrade the firmware right before this. Maybe that was what caused it? I don't know how to slow it down in the firmware though. The code is beyond my experience level.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Booo... you said Pot ...and I don't have a plastic or ceramic screw driver. I'm considering silcone cocking under the coupler ...can't get it tighter and I'm so worried it will crack more... I will try what Jeff suggested later tonight.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Well it worked for a couple of prints and I got the Z Stop secured ...but now I'm having this issue. I can't figure what could have gone wrong as it worked so well for a few minutes. I can't see anything that is stopping the vertical movement. The bed isn't rubbing against anything, no wires are in the way, the rods look like they are all in position. I'm stumped. Any ideas what I need toby Lisa M - Tantillus
