A little capton tape took care of the problem ...printing another object atmby Lisa M - Tantillus
Well, that makes sense... I tried tightening it tonight and had no luck. I can't seem to get it tight so that it doesn't slide up and down. I'll try again tomorrow.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Should the Z Endstop bracket move? Or should it be clamped on so tight that it goes nowhere? Mine seems to be affecting the starting height of prints.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Well I'm not out of the woods yet. My test cube had a few layers in teh middle that buldged ...I hadn't adjusted anything throughout the print. Could be bad filament ...or something isn't moving smoothly. Also something is wrong with my zstop. Home doesn't always bring the print head to the same distance from the bed. I got lucky with the cube in that it started at the right height from theby Lisa M - Tantillus
Yay! The cube being printed Okay had a little endstop problem and there are probably a few adjustments to be made ...but ...tada! I printed something. Me so happy.by Lisa M - Tantillus

I now need to pull it all apart again ...and I guess find more fishing line somewhere. Least favorite movie "Ground Hog Day". ...but practice makes perfect ...I guess. Nope. I have mine like that. ...oh wait. I unplugged the rainbow colored cable... you were right I went too far over and missed a pin.by Lisa M - Tantillus
I tried before to reverse the way they were plugged in but all that happened was that the LCD didn't work at all ...so I put it back to the way I thought the instructions indicated. ...which is this way. ...and gives the results in the video above.by Lisa M - Tantillus

Is it me? Did I plug it in wrong? Am I not managing the knob correctly? Or is the LCD faulty? I'm not sure. All I get is Main, Prepare, Preheat PLA. I can't get anything else no matter what I do - push, turn, push and turn consecutively, double push Here is a video: LCD Issue?by Lisa M - Tantillus
I don't think my LCD is working properly. I'll upload a video shortly under an LCD thread.by Lisa M - Tantillus
How to work the LCD panel. I still can't figure mine out. Either I'm LCD impared or mine is not functioning properly. Setup and Maintenance for Printing with PLA. It may seem basic to most but this is my very first 3D printer ...so it's not straightforward to me. Initially how should the PLA be inserted into the machine? Should it be forced through manually? Is there a way to advance it thby Lisa M - Tantillus
I know where to stick it! ...but yah, I don't know anything else. Do I feed it manually? I can't find anything in PronterFace that would turn the motor that feeds the filament. After you print something then what do you do to remove the filament? Do you need to clean out the hot end somehow? Does the filament unwind electronically or do you have to somehow manually unwind it? Note: I stillby Lisa M - Tantillus
Wow that was quite an adventure to be sure! Love the red look. I'm out of town but checking in to see how everyone's builds are coming along and to see if I can learn anything to help me with mine.by Lisa M - Tantillus
@sublime I tried that but it didn't work for me.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Oh could be. It worked for a bit at 250000 though ....before it all stopped working and Pronterface couldn't connect ( see other thread )by Lisa M - Tantillus
@Sublime Home depot, nearest my house did not have them. The smallest they carried was 10-32 I'll wait for the build day. I'm worried about the electronics in my build. I think the power connector is faulty or not connected properly. The motors and fans and heater worked once briefly. Prior to that I could only connect to the board and the LCD had a very limited display. When the fans, moby Lisa M - Tantillus
Darn. I could move the xyz... and the fans turned on ...and it looked like everything was gonna work But then the pronterface window did this when I tried to connect this time: Connecting... ~†ø~˜€fæàžþž˜˜~f†ø†žž I'm pretty sure that's not good. I've unplugged the beast and am backing away slowly now. Gonna go find a piece of low tech ...a book ...yah ...something to escape into for a whileby Lisa M - Tantillus
Thanks for confirming that for me Poly. That helped. I undid and redid the 12v connection and now all systems are goby Lisa M - Tantillus
Yep ...going for a run ...then going off the grid for a few days ...I'll have to look at it again next week.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Wow. Something is really wrong with mine. I don't see those other ones.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Are you sure I had the pentiometer the wrong way? My tantillus is not functioning properly ...and I'm wondering if that is it? I turned them the way you said with the pentiometer opposite of the capacitors underneath so that the pentiometer is not above the capacitor.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Hmm... I only get the 3 options and can't figure out how to select them or what to do with them. What options do you get?by Lisa M - Tantillus
You got further than me. I apparently still can't control the heat or the xyz from pronterface. I'm stuck. I've triple checked everything and am pretty confident that I put it together properly.by Lisa M - Tantillus
Your house is cooler than mine. ...mine is now at 30 So, does your dial do anything? If I push it in and turn it to the right I get watch, prepare, preheatby Lisa M - Tantillus
Apparently you have to open Marlin.pde hit compile and then upload That's as far as I got. I'm now thinking that I have to do that for each of the tabs that has opened when I opened Marlin.pde ...but I'm not sure.by Lisa M - Tantillus
There is a "zip" button up top. That will get the whole thing in a zip file. I had the same problemby Lisa M - Tantillus
