#define Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER_DELTA_X 0.5 // smartrap: special quantic error mesurement from porte a faux design (see marlin.cpp) This will add or subtract z height as the machine moves front to back to compensate for the glass flex.by duranza - Smart_Rap
QuoteTalle QuoteBackEMF i'm experimenting with this but when the arm is half way then it already struggles a bit and when the arm is fully extended then the slide tends to block / get stuck However when I just press manually then it seems to be working just right. So when the arm is extended the x bends enough to make an angle that gives enough force to get the slide stuck on the friction. Iby duranza - Smart_Rap
$30 is really not that expensive. You might be able to get them to print you Reg's extruder too.by duranza - Smart_Rap
The theaded rod can be a 5/16-24 rod from home depot. The connector you can get from Flebay 4mm push connector Did you already buy the printed parts?by duranza - Smart_Rap
QuoteTalle I tried to print this yesterday but I was kind of unsuccessful due to stop in the hotend. I belive that is PLA related since my hot-end-fan has been working flawless with other PLA rolles. What I realized though was that the slide was a bit to thin so it wobbled a bit back and forth, so I´ve widened it a bit 0.1mm and also cut the corners, and made some minor adjustments. I´ll give iby duranza - Smart_Rap
Plate IGES file simple slide IGES file Here are some files that will open in Freecad to get you started Sergeby duranza - Smart_Rap
Looks good. Just make sure you guys put a fillet/ chamfer on the corners so that it only makes contact on the sides. If it makes contact on the points only, you will get unwanted movement front to back.by duranza - Smart_Rap
Huxley slide plate Here is the huxley slide plate. I just took the one from the existing arm and chopped and merged to the slide plate.by duranza - Smart_Rap
Looks like a good fit. I really like that blue color.by duranza - Smart_Rap
I guess they finally fixed the forum.. It was so slow last night I couldn't post anythingby duranza - Smart_Rap
The original files had a .1mm gap between the main plate and the slide plate already built in. Hey Reg, I think what would help on the Genie parts is to put a straight fillet on the corner of the 45 degree slide part so that only the sides make contact.by duranza - Smart_Rap
QuoteSogeking Looks awesome!! Can anybody make one for Huxley hotend and 8mm X rods? The main plate is 8mm. I will make a slide attachment for the huxley, unless Serge has already done so.by duranza - Smart_Rap
I like where this is going. Interchangeable hot-ends already bolted to the slide. Now if we can make the wires with some sort of plug in/ disconnect we would just move the switch, and slide the new one in.by duranza - Smart_Rap
Wow very cool fan cowl integration. I like it.by duranza - Smart_Rap
I put some parasolid files in there. Let me know what works for you.by duranza - Smart_Rap
Quotesmartfriendz I just printed but not installed for now, but already by hand it seems to be indeed very good. Can i steel your idea and adapt for both heads? ( huxley type). I need also to adapt the top to all three driving systems ( fishing line, racks&pinions and GT2) so the model will be maybe changed, but basically, it would be a real idea steeling You found just something i trieby duranza - Smart_Rap
Probing and printing Well I'm even amazed myself. I knew it would work, but not this good. All of the flex on the glass is gone, and even with auto level the z axis barely moves now. I also had to get rid of the extra compensation for the last probe point as the glass now doesn't flex at all. I did end up having to use a rubber band to keep down pressure and keep it off the switch. I will work oby duranza - Smart_Rap
Oh, never mind. You are talking about the servo arm. Did you buy a reverse servo? There is no way of reversing the servo that I know of, other than doing some re-wiring inside the servo or flip the arm to the other side.by duranza - Smart_Rap
If the movement is opposite of what you tell it to (x1 and it moves in x-1) then just flip the motor connection. When homing the firmware tells the printer to raise up a little before coming down to probeby duranza - Smart_Rap
link to stl files Here is what I have so far. I only have J-head adapter in there, but it is really easy to adapt to any hot end and bolt it to the slide. I'm taking apart my smartrap to test it out right now. I will post a video of it working later on.by duranza - Smart_Rap
My line of thinking exactly BackEMF. The switch provides some spring back to keep it down. Although once everything is on there (hot-end, fan) it should have enough weight to keep it off the switch. Serge: The holes you see in the plate allow for adapters to be bolted on and be adjustable up and down. The slots allow fan air to pass through to cool the hot end. I will upload pictures and files tby duranza - Smart_Rap
New smartrap probe/hot-end plate Hey all, I have a little present for you guys. Take a look a this little mod. I will be testing it tomorrow and when all is good I will post some STLs for whoever wants to upgrade. This will help out with eliminating the torque of the normal arm, as this only allows up/down movement.by duranza - Smart_Rap
The value should be a positive value on that M555 comand. After homing the Z it should read zero. If you move the z up until you can put in a piece of paper, take note of how much you moved up and this is your Z offset.by duranza - Smart_Rap
It is definitely the most flexible design out there. What drew me in, was that it resembles a milling machine. Great job Serge. Is it normal for the bowden tube to elongate/ stretch?by duranza - Smart_Rap
This is what I have in mine. #define DEFAULT_MAX_FEEDRATE {500, 500, 50, 25} // (mm/sec) #define DEFAULT_MAX_ACCELERATION {1000,1000,5,500} // X, Y, Z, E maximum start speed for accelerated moves. E default values are good for Skeinforge 40+, for older versions raise them a lot.by duranza - Smart_Rap
Umm.. Have you played with the feed speeds? I have noticed that too slow a speed on my homing is a lot louder. I have mine at 50mms homing and it sounds very light. I do have my acceleration down real low though.by duranza - Smart_Rap
I really don't have any noise coming from anywhere other than the fishing line clicking here and there. The z axis moves so little that it make no noise. Did you already post a video of your machine anywhere?by duranza - Smart_Rap
10-24 is .190 diameter, while 5mm is .196 diameter. Too close to notice any difference. It is the same thing with the bowden tubes and push fittings. Everybody is selling 4mm. You can get 5/32 tubing and fitting and they are both the same size.by duranza - Smart_Rap
I'm using 10-24 stainless from home depot. It fits the stock frame goodby duranza - Smart_Rap
