Thanks! That looks pretty good, I couldn't figure out how to plug in the current position of (b) into the code, but that looks like how it should work. I'll test it out later to see if it works.

I'm trying to figure out where in marlin I might modify the Z axis so that it follows a non-linear path for a scissor lift. The formula is quite simple and thanks to wolfmanjm's help in the IRC channel, I think I figured out what I should change.
The formula that needs to be plugged in is above, and in Marlin's planner.cpp, there are these few lines below;
// The target position of the tool

All I can say is that I'm impressed. Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to more updates.

Hey guys, these plates are still available. Generally, airmail shipping around the world is roughly $25 for the pair, $10-15 locally. I'd be happy to do cash on delivery if you're nearby Melbourne CBD.

I've been having trouble getting Slic3r to work with this model as well; I noticed that it doesn't like overly complex models, even after running it through netfabb.
I did find a way of having it work though and here's what I did; First I imported the model into Slic3r 0.9.5's platter, then I exported the STL file. After that, repair that STL through netfabb and it should work. Reduced the time

Thanks!
I printed it on my Mendelmax 1.5

Here's my attempt with silver PLA.
Sliced with Slic3r 8.4

Here is my attempt. Filament decided to jam at the last 10% or so, but it's mostly finished.
Struggling a little with big overhangs, might be a symptom of using a large nozzle with a small layer height.

I don't belive this generation of 3D printers based on FDM will become a household item. A specialist item, sure, for individuals and offices which deal with design. Still, if we're talking about Repraps, they require a big investment of time before you actually manage to print anything (This is if you're building one from scratch). Printers like the Mosaic2 and UP! do reduce the entry bar as the

These aluminium plates are 3mm thick, they go in a pair, one piece is 280x250mm while the other is 250x100mm. Perfect for a Mendelmax's upper and lower Y-Axis tables.
$22 for both!
Shipping is calculated from Melbourne, Australia.
I've got a quite a few, so let me know if you'd like more than one.

Sorry for the thread hijack, but does anyone know where to get 1.75mm filament for cheap(er?)
I asked Lybina, and its costs $15.50 per 50 meters of ABS, including shipping, which still sounds really expensive to me.
