Anyone interested in coming to the 2016 Midwest RepRap Festival and speaking is always welcome. We have open mic times for the presentation area. The first few years saw Mr. Prusa himself speaking about reprap, last year we had some really cool speakers talking about all sorts of topics, including the guys from E3D who came and talked about the progress of their hotends. So if you've got a pro

Yep, MakersToolWorks has a company close here locally, Golden Malted I think, that uses a mendelmax from them to prototype some stuff. So they offered to make the waffle Iron.
MichaelJ, As Traumflug said, just find a date that looks good, find a space, and throw up a google form for signups or something, and post it on here and the IRC channels. The first time I put this together, it started a

epicepee,
When you say it moves slow, are you jogging it in a host, like pronterface or repetier? If so, what do yo uhave the jog speeds set to. If not, are you giving it a manual command, like G1 X100 Y50 and if so, are you telling it an F move? If not, it will be moving at it's homing feedrate unless you specify an F(feedrate)
As for the probe, can't help you with that one

Dave,
It's very common in many plastics manufacturing to use 're-grind' or recycled material form leftover scrap or defective parts in the production of 'new' We do injection molding, and running up to 33% or so 're-grind' is OK for most parts as long as they are cosmetic and not critical tolerance or surface quality sensitive. Buying cheap filament from amazon or ANYwhere for that matter, pre

Careful now, don't give them too many good ideas After all, It's "Patent Pending" and that's just unfortunate, since it looks about like a buda other than the nozzle

I'll be there, as will Steve. We're the SeeMeCNC guys. Also Terence Tam from OpenBeam/minikossel, and Johann of Rostock/Kossel will be there. We're here already, stopped and talked with Brook from Printrbot for a while, saw the Deezmaker booth was all set up, so they're here somewhere too.

Hey dolphinboy. Sounds like you have eeprom enabled. If so, changes to configuration don't take effect as you have to do it thru seldom storage. You can send M92 Exxx.xxx where the xxx.xxx is your desired steps per, and if it works good at that setting, send M500 to store the new value to memory. Also, you can disable seldom memory in configuration.h and then just modify and upload firmware to ma

Hey ryanthejuggler
If you are seeing that problem, POWER DOWN QUICK. loose motor connections and wiring are what can cause the drivers to fail. What is happening is the crimpped metal pins aren't making good contact with the motor wires, or you don't have them pushed all the way in and 'locked' in place in the plastic housing. Double check all of them, i know, it's tedious, but that is what

Steve,
A hot shop could make it read that resistance, yeah. If you're overshooting the set temp, then stabilizing, your PID settings are too high. In marlin, you can do a PID autotune form room temperature by sending M303 S150, that will set the temp to 150 and run the autotune, and give you the new PID parameters to set in your configuration.h file. If you're getting maxtemp right away, mayb

Good stuff guys,
We'll start planning fo rnext year a little sooner than a month or two before hand this time, promise! LOL
So, March IS good, as it's kind of a "kickoff" to all the rest of the years events I think. That, and it's a good gap between pretty much everyone! Some suggestions, like the IRC/RepRap handle are def. good ones. Others I've heard are to have it in a more major city.

Thanks everyone

Hey Idol. There's a few other designs out there that you could/should make as well on that laser! The tantillus is one that is still wanted, I've cut a few for os1r1s and others as special requests, but havn't offered kits or frames as of yet since i never heard back from sublime. If you want/can get his ok, i posted the files up to my github (johnoly99) for cutting them out of 1/4" material,
