just wanted to say iv used a fair bit of reprapper stuff from 3dfilaprint and also tested a lot of there filaments in the past for printing 3D benches for them.
the reprapper filament that they supply (and note iv had reprapper filament from other suppliers thats not stored correctly and is brittle, at least these guys look after it) needs to be printed hotter then normal and also needs to be mea

Hi Guys
iv just swicthed over from marlin to repetier firmware for my mini kossel (with richraps 3DR Bowden Extruder)
got everything working other then extruder retraction speed.
iv got cura set to run retraction at 4mm @ 38mm/sec
but it looks like firmware it not limiting it in marling i just changed the retraction feedrate to solve this but cannot find this on the eeprom for repetier, any i

Firmware - mainstream and related support
Does any know if its possible or if there are any plans to add MANUAL_Z_HOME_POS to the eeprom?
when running a delta this would be very helpful if i could adujst this on the fly without having to mess around flashing everytime.

can you suggest a program to edit the STL im only aware of arty type programs for importing STL files. nothing that you can edit sizes with etc like autodesk, scad, solidworks etc

not a printing issue. this is from the I3 Rework files. looking at the STL and print iv done its over sized. iv seen the same on some i3 compact extruders.
any one know were the i3 rework source files are? or at least just the extruder files so i can rework the big gear to fit a normal hobbed m8 bolt?
im amazed everyone building i3 reworks have not seen that the bolt clearly does not fit??

iv been seeing this on a few extruder designs now and not sure why anyone would do this.
http://reprap.org/wiki/File:Engrenage.jpg
an M8 Hoobed bolt of M8 clearly does not fit and would move around before turning the gear.
are these just mistakes or is there a reason??

hi guys
need some advise as this is driving me nuts.
i have a mini kossel print which i calibrate using software endstops (m666) and delta radius (m665) using the latest marlin firmware and get it super flat and printing away with correct Z Height set. using latest marling firmware from github
iv been printing for 2 days now strait and no issues at all. just changed filament over to t-glase

yeah e3d does not work with j-head mounts needs to be thicker .
just print one from thingiverse. theres a fair few.
i use one printed in PLA never have any issues. remeber the e3d has a fan cooling the hotend so heat will not rise enough to get to the mount anyway.

yeah drops to 10V when heated the hotend just after homing. then when pwm kicks in (approx 10C before target temp) it goes back up to 12v.
iv noticed it for a while as you can hear fans on the machine tone down then back up again.
ill hook up it all up later and take a vid if possible.

Currently testing on both 3DR and a Kissel so heated bed. Get same voltage drops on every psu I have atx, power brick, 12v 20a box.
Even tried a branded £15 12v 5a power pack with same results

you may want to check your ATX PSU
have a look on the side of the PSU at the 12V Line that will give you the total amps the 12V line can take. Normally on 350W PSU its around 14A which is a bit light when using a heated bed.
with ATX PSU you have 3.3V, 5V and 12 V they all have a total amp rating thats how they get the 350W your only intested in the 12V for reprap.
20A is plenty last time i ch

Hi guys
Have been working on a 3dr for part month and fitted flex led strips down the alu extrusions and have noticed heavy strobing while the pus on heater is on.
So I got volt meter and ammeter out and started looking at the atx psu I had attached. Whole 3dr while printing never got over 4 amps usage but noticed the 12v was all over the place even as low as 10v while heating up from cold.

only thing i can think is your running in 1/32 instead of 1/16 on the jumpers?
4000 is correct at 1/16 steps
and 8000 would be correct at 1/32 steps
have you checked your X and Y ?

not using epprom are you and not changing epprom steps ? (seperate to hard settings in marlin)
normally using eprom if using a display device

Hi Guys
just built up a Mini kossel to the wiki specs.
Just loaded the firmware from https://github.com/jcrocholl/Marlin and having trouble with sizes etc. mainly bed probe does not deploy as it does not go over far enough.
im hacking various files to alter stuff but looking at it i would say Johann has now changed this firmware to work with his Kossel air as most of the dimensions seem to be

yeah i run a servo direct from ramps for over a month and its caused the arduino mega to fail (Voltage regulator on the arduino heavily overheating). was also getting lockups on ramps due to the 5V line being all over the place.
iv now gone down the 7805 route and working fine.
you can also get nice sealed units from ebay if you don't want to be making them your self (just search for 12V to 5V)

i dont think you can even buy the 1280 boards now just a warning for people who are still on the old model (like i was)
i tried stock config file and as soon as you add autolevel (with no panels at all) the auto level takes it strait over.
running the earlier autolevel okay with 1280 and all my other stuff.

Hi guys just a head up
Started to flash the new marlin update this morning
With my setup (i3, Ramps 1.3, panelolu2) i cannot fit it on a Arduino Mega 1280
Fits okay on an Arduino Mega 2560
if you get an error compiling that will be why .
if you want to be double sure change board type to mega 2560 and recompile if it works okay you need to get yourself a new board.

any one finding they are getting lots of servo chatter?
iv tried shielding cable still get gitter. iv had to use an external 5v supply as the gitter is taking too much strain on the 5v line of the arudino and voltage regulator is getting too hot and crashing 5V line to atmega chip.
also what are people using for servos currently? would be interested in getting one that no one has issues with.

Hi Guys
Been using the Auto level feature in latest Marlin with the Servo but the servo is const chattering away and gets very annoying while printer is running in the back ground.
i thought it might be interference so i tried moving cables away from electronics and motors with no joy.
any ideas how i can stop it?

try printedsolid.com and get the color fab stuff very nice stuff.
iv used both and they are equals.
iv also used cheap stuff and you should stay well well away from it!

great to read this. im currently playing with a sample of ninjaflex from filaprint.
so far i found like sanjay retraction is a pain. but that was with 3mm and wades on an i3.
Tommrow im testing some 1.75mm on a bowden with a 3DR Delta printer im thinking being a smaller filament and direct drive might make retraction a bit quicker also the ptfe might help also.

iv found if using ramps 1.3 (not tried ramps 1.4) you have to edit pins.h to read this
ifdef NUM_SERVOS
#define SERVO0_PIN 6
#if NUM_SERVOS > 1
#define SERVO1_PIN 6
#endif

been having another look at the corner issue again tonight
already tried what you suggested as i was thinking along the same lines
Have tried 3 peices of glass now all new cut to size all flat when on table
glass it tight to bed i use 4 clips to hold to bed
have taken out heated bed as its not used and i suspected it may bowing now using solid flat piece of alu composite with glass cliped on.

i was thinking it would end up like the kossel auto level were it probs the whole bed using a grid?
from the tests iv run the past 2 weeks every time i run g29 top right corner is too high when printing.
any ideas what i can do to try and resolve the top right corner issue if other people are not being effected by it?

i seem to have issues top right corner, always higher then other corners.
should the probing not be completed as a triangle as when i run g29 i see it probs bottom and top left but then only bottom right so the top corner were im having trouble is not checed at all?

other thing i was thinking if your using a resistor instead of a heater cartridge and have the wired solderd using leaded solder the melt temp of leaded solder is around 180 so it may be your wires are comming loose when getting up to temp causing wire to touch on and off giving heat up and down.
if this is the case ideally use a heater cartidge there cheap enough these days failing that get som
