Hello, I am planning to equip my Nophead Mendel90 from 2013 with a Duet 3 Mini 5+ Wifi. Has this been done before and can tell me in advance what obstacles I will encounter. I replaced my hotend with an E3D v6 in 2014, but otherwise it's the good old machine. In the course of the conversion I would like to retrofit a few comfort functions e.g. Automatic Bed Leveling (BLTouch?) I wonder if it maby Psike2k12 - Mendel90
Thanks for the feedback. Yes it was the Y axis and then from the middle to the front, i got this waves. I will check each linear bearing on all axis, might be anyway a good idea after years of using. And replace them if necessary. Larsby Psike2k12 - Mendel90
I would like to use my old Mendel "Dibond" by nophead again after a long time. But unfortunately, since the middle of last year are strange waves in the back of my print. I have everything cleaned and recalibrated, there is also a post from last year. Now I have no more idea and would like to change to a newer controller board variant, does anyone have any suggestions?by Psike2k12 - Mendel90
As you can see on the photo I have a problem with waves from a certain point on the y-axis. I have used my Mendel after a long time, before I did not have this problem. I have already tensioned the belts and tightened all screws. Any idea what could cause this problem? I had these ripples in the front part of the Y-axis in all models I tested. Thanks Larsby Psike2k12 - Mendel90
I have used Cura to slice and had never any kind of issues, I`m printing now almost 2 yeas with the same setting and never faced any issue. It was my first STL that came from Mashmixer and checked it with Netfabb, maybe its the Object that causes the error. Then i went to Cura and sliced it there as usual and saved on SD CARD I will give it a second try maybe it was a ontime thing. What will happby Psike2k12 - Mendel90
Good Evening, i have printed today an object that was roundabout 16cm hight. At almost 10cm my printhead moved down after a layer and dipped into my print. i printed from sd card, after i recognized it o have homed all axes and stopped printing. On my PC i had a lot of unreadable stuff in my print console. Any idea what can cause this habit? BR Larsby Psike2k12 - Mendel90
Quotenophead If you changed Z_HEIGHT_MM to 193.50 then that is what M114 should give when it is homed. If it still gives 203.60 you haven't changed it from the J-head value. This is than very odd have changed the jumper position and put the power on, than i went into Arduino Software and press upload and i get the message upload successful... Mhh i will keep tryingby Psike2k12 - Mendel90
Quotenophead >Is the firmware limiting valid only after the printer has been homed? It only limits in the correct places if it has been homed but it still limits where it thinks it is before that. All the axes think they are at zero when the board resets so you can't move Z downwards until you have homed it but you can move it up and crash the endstop. So, yes always home before moving the aby Psike2k12 - Mendel90
Quoteneildarlow Perhaps you could isolate just the changes you have made to the Marlin configuration files (are you familiar with diff?) and we can see if anything has gone wrong there. Only three rows were changed by me i have used the compare from notepad++ #define Z_HEIGHT_MM 193.50 #define TEMP_SENSOR_0 5 //#define EEPROM_SETTINGS And as I mentioned I have used to be sure that the value iby Psike2k12 - Mendel90
Due to that i have never used M500 and M206 it means that in my EEPROM is no value saved that is related to my Z_HEIGHT? And anyways this kind of setting gets never saved at all? Ok any other idea why my setting is never triggering any Software Endstop? If i put 100 in my Z_HEIGHT I expect that i can go 100mm down from my endstop and have there my 0 point but instead I can go further down to theby Psike2k12 - Mendel90
It seems that I really have EEPROM enabled and my Z_HEIGHT_MM was never used. This would explain why i never had any software end-stop whatever number i typed in. I used in height 100 and i was able to move it down to the table, this seems wrong I always started with homed axes and never anywhere in space. When I'm back home after work i will uncommend the EEPROM and give this a second try.by Psike2k12 - Mendel90
QuotePsike2k12 Good Morning, I really don't know what to do therefor my question. I have tested several things to dont chrash the nozzle but it seems that I'm to dumb. My Mendel90 (Nop) has worked now for ~1 year without any issue, the bed is leveld the E_steps_per_mm was fine and it worked. Now my Jhead stoped working and I decided to go with an E3Dv6 and now it begins. I have as first tryed toby Psike2k12 - Mendel90
Good Morning, I faced a problem since a while, but now its anoying me a lot. As first my Prints are well sized if I want 20mm x 20mm x 20mm that I get this with less then 0,2mm range. That's Great. But for some reasons I get some strange layer behavior it looks like that a layer is not printed in one line it looks like that the materiel is not coming out fluid (but only on some layers). Due to thby Psike2k12 - Mendel90
I have no measured the values, I get from the thermistor instad of 100kΩ ---> 271,5Ω .... that is why I get this large temp Values. BR Larsby Psike2k12 - Mendel90
I get no error I only get 0°C I have now detached the entire extruder stuff, the heat shrink (large Red one) is looking got no burning or darker parts from outside. Not sure how to check the Cement without cut the Heat shrink... The Golden Extruder-end looks brown/black partly. All other functions are working good can it be a part of the Melzi and how I can check this. Tomorrow at work i will cby Psike2k12 - Mendel90
Made a different check, I have now wired the two green transistor cables directly to the ETEMP GND/SIGNAL on the Melzi and I get the same confusing results. What now can I fix this by my own or do I have to order a new preassabled Extruder? Larsby Psike2k12 - Mendel90
I have no Multimeter at the moment. I have reattached all cables now, and no one was in my flat since last week Friday and it worked well there... What a shame, want to start Printing Halloween stuff today..by Psike2k12 - Mendel90
Hi, Since this day I'm not able to print because my Printer sends a temp of 223°C but the hotend is cold. So it will not heat up. What can I do it worked fine on last week. Checked cables seems good reattached the plug no change. Any Help on this what can I do? Thanks Larsby Psike2k12 - Mendel90
It's Done, the fan is running as Hell It was a soldering issue on one point, fixed it and its ok now. I started with my first "Real" Print with an Object than I have designed and sliced. I went really well up to an point where I got a lot of ridge when it came to thinner parts. I draw a paint picture where the edges are not very well and attached two pictures of the Object. How can I prevent tby Psike2k12 - Mendel90
I havent my Multimeter at my place atm, but I will check the voltage if i got it back. And Yes I used M106 to get the fan running without any result If everyting els is working can it be part of my soldering to the socket or not right crimp of the plug? Larsby Psike2k12 - Mendel90
Good Morning, I have build up my Mendel90 and went through the Test instructions. Everything is working well exept the FAN it will not start if I put in the Start Command. And I have no clue why. Checked the wiring twice and it looks good for me RibbonCabel 12 is Attached to FAN- and I attached the cable on the socket in the right direction. Now my result of the Android test Print.
