If the PSU is keeping 12V+ under load, it's probably a very decent unit. Where did you measure the voltage? I mean, was it at the PSU terminals or the output from the controller? Also, did you measure again after leveling the bed when, presumably, hotend heater and motors where also on? I once had a RAMPS that ended up quite burned (no flames, thankfully). One sign it was failing was that it wouby Chavaquiah - Prusa i3 and variants
About fire risk, see this link (answerbag.com) or this other (tis-gdv.de) one. Ignition point is 427ºC. If something else sets it on fire, it will burn from 258ºC. So, not much of a problem under a bed that will hardly go past 120ºC. Aluminum foil helps deflect heat upwards but may itself pose another hazard: if connections aren't properly isolated, there is a risk of creating a short-circuit. Those PSUs are, normally, single rail. Extra wires from the PSU to the RAMPS board won't help as much as making sure the connection from the board to the heated bed has low resistance. You could start by measuring this resistance and making sure you have adequate wires, properly soldered on and so on. However, the problem you're experiencing seems to be quite common. At least I had it, with my fby Chavaquiah - Prusa i3 and variants
Do you really mean 42cm³? As in 3.5cm x 3.5cm x 3.43cm? Well, sure! Now, 8,000cm³ (20x20x20cm) might be more challenging.by Chavaquiah - Mendel90
That picture is definitely not of a J-head. It's either an E3Dv5 or a clone. It does nor use a PTFE tube but requires a fan blowing across those fins at all time. Do you have it istalled? Is it aligned with the bottom fin?by Chavaquiah - Mendel90
That option was only introduced with version 1.2.6 (experimental) of Slic3r. If you're using a stable release, I think it won't be available. How many perimeters are you printing? Perhaps increasing the number of perimeters would help?by Chavaquiah - Printing
It may very well have been that. In messing with the belt I must have forced something along the x-axis. After the print finished I went to check a few things and noticed some unevenness for the force needed to move the carriage as if, indeed, there was something wrong with with the x-idler. In the meantime I relieved some of the tension on the x belt (turns out I had it overtightened), appliedby Chavaquiah - Mendel90
Sorry, I may have mislead you. When using the python script, it takes care automatically of the conf/machine.scad. To make sure, open the file scad/conf/machine.scad and see if it contains: include < sturdy_config.scad> (except with no space after < ) For manual rendering in openscad I *think* you must have first changed machine.scad to the right include. QuoteRich K. Tried the Python route. Not sure what I am doing wrong, but no altered drawing showed up in my directory of "Sturdy" stl files. Since you don't need to print the whole machine, there's no need to go the python way and recompile everything. Just open the x-carriage.scad file (the one you quoted) and change the last lines so that it renders the fan duct: if(1) if(0) { iby Chavaquiah - Mendel90
Hi! I'm printing a new fan duct to use with E3Dv6's hotend and I noticed this weird (and very pronounced) slant in the object: it is clearly leaning to the left (negative X axis). Doesn't seem to be missed steps, since the effect is quite smooth and consistent from layer to layer. The printer is (obviously) a Mendel90, T3P3's version, with the acrylic enclosure.
Alguém me pode ajudar?
