Thanks for the suggestion NopHead. Looks like you were right again! The ground had burnt out the connector on the Melzi. I'm replacing the connector, hopefully that'll fix the issue. Sincerely, thanks for your help, greatly appreciated!by nathanmc - Mendel90
Hi everyone, I'm a brand newbie, after having just assembled the Mendel90. I've printed a couple of things and now I'm experiencing a disconnect issue. I think I've narrowed it down to when I set the hotend or hotbed temperature via the buttons in Pronterface. This error is shown: Setting hotend temperature to 220.000000 degrees Celsius. Can't write to printer (disconnected?). Clicking on tby nathanmc - Mendel90
Sorry, I thought I'd responded to this. I got it balanced, you were right Nophead, it was just way out. Thank you.by nathanmc - Mendel90
Hi Chris, Thank you for the quick reply, greatly appreciated, I can't wait to print with your awesome machine! I cannot understand how it could be so concave either. I'll do as you suggested, tomorrow, and hopefully get things organised. I'll let you know how it goes. How precise must it be? Microns out? Thanks Chris.by nathanmc - Mendel90
Hi everyone, I'm in the process of putting together my Mendel90 and I'm up to #26 Bed Levelling. Unfortnately, it seems that the bed is concave. I measure the distance from the hot end to the bed in the middle at the back, using a bit of paper. Then raise the head 10 points upward, to ensure that it is unlikely to hit the bed if it is concave, move to the left back and attempt to move back downby nathanmc - Mendel90
Thanks to everyone for their advice, much appreciated. I took another look at the printed parts and realised that I'd used the y_bar_clamp, as you've indicated. Perhaps an addition to the text on point 6 to indicate that people should use the ones with the screw holes and where exactly to put it. For those that aren't looking up each part as they go. Whoops!! Thanks again for your help!by nathanmc - Mendel90
Hi Chris (or anyone else who may assist), I'm enjoying putting together your awesome 3D printer the Mendel90_DiBond. I'm up to 7.6 (Z motor assebly), which states: "Fit the micro switch to the left hand bar clamp using No2 x 13mm pan head wood screws. N.B. The button should be towards the front of the machine." and it seems that the holes in the left hand bar clamp for the screws are missing.by nathanmc - Mendel90
Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to 3D printing and I'm shortly going to be receiving my first Mendel90 3D printer. I'm wondering if there are complete kits or detailed plans to additionally use the Mendel90 as a laser engraver? Any assistance will be greatly received. Thank you!by nathanmc - Laser Cutter Working Group
That is awesome, go you!!by nathanmc - Look what I made!
Hi everyone, I'm a complete newbie to RepRap and I'm considering putting together the Prusa Mendel i3. I'm making a decision to either buy a kit that has all of the parts, or sourcing the parts and putting it all together. Unfortunately, I can't even find the parts list or the blueprints for the Prusa Mendel i3. Am I going crazy? Shouldn't it be on this page: Any guidance on this will beby nathanmc - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi AndrewBCN, Thanks very much for your comments and information. I'll repost the question in the appropriate section. And thanks for your advice! Nathanby nathanmc - Prusa i3 and variants
