Would anyone be interested in purchasing over-sized i3 frame for dimensions of 24" by 24" machined out of 1/8" thick aluminum sheets? A complete kit utilizing lead-screws instead of belts with an all-metal hot-end and dual bowden extruders?by raeliean - For Sale
What program was used to view slices Issue no 1?by raeliean - RepRap magazine
The problem with delving into lasers and such, is that it's not something easily on-hand. I want to try and modify the current extruder and reprap system ever-so-slightly so that anyone with a reprap can change a few nuts and bolts and have this new ability. I'm thinking a bowden style extruder would be best with a steel extruder head and a .5mm or smaller hole. I just studied a little overby raeliean - Reprappers
Here's the page you are looking for : If you run through this step by step, your prints will come out looking solid. I would advise a fan for PLA.by raeliean - Reprappers
Ah-hah! I've found someone who has boldly explored this idea before!by raeliean - Reprappers
Dual extruders are pretty popular these days. I figured this was a hell of a lot better use than a second color. At any rate, it would bring us one step closer to the reprap being truly self replicating. Even if it's an inferior product, as long as it works, that would be awesome. I'm going to run some tests and I'll update with results.by raeliean - Reprappers
Two steps: 1. Print a grooved board out of ABS. 2. Run solder through the extruder and fill in the grooves, making a circuitboard. Has this been done?by raeliean - Reprappers
I have a hammi-down hobbed bolt. This bolt skips like crazy. Does anyone have any recommendations on a bolt that has not failed them with great recommendations? Is there a specific tool on thingiverse recommended for making precise hobbed bolts? Note: I use 3mm ABS filament. Thanks ! EDIT: I've been contemplating one of these two bolts, but am uncertain which would be best:by raeliean - Reprappers
I have an aluminum foundry and can cast these straight from aluminum. We could print a file then I can cast a mold from the plastic and pour it in aluminium as an exact replica. The only thing is I've melted my extruder isolator and waiting for a new one from hong kong. May be up to a week... However, we can make this from scratch. Message me if you're interested.by raeliean - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Long story short I melted my peek isolater. I also melted some PTFE components. Why is it made of peek? Can one be made from aluminum and machined? Why are any of these parts made of meltable materials on the hot end? What do you guys think about plaster of paris/cement mixture? Maybe mixed with some crushed perilite. THis is a high heat resistant material that I used to make a foundry to mby raeliean - Plastic Extruder Working Group
