i just found www.youmagine.com/, but ya your not alone.by dissidence - General
i have use 5/16ths rod for my frame, that dose not need to be metric for any reason. dont feel so bad though, i am in canada and its still a pain here to get metric parts here, though i now know where to look for most of what i need.by dissidence - General
QuoteNormandC Yeah, a few people here have mentioned that canadian individuals couldn't order from McMaster. Have a look at Fastenal, they have local stores in many canadian cities and they carry metric hardware. i will agree with the Fastenal i have used them, i was even in ackland grangers the other day and i mentioned that i am looking into buying some more metric stuff and they will be gettby dissidence - General
i wonder if a crescent gear pump could not work with a reprap for thicker liquids.by dissidence - General
Quoteiquizzle I don't disagree that the part from lulzbot is pretty expensive. But what you're asking for is the market to have a morality, when in fact there isn't. If people are willing to pay lulzbot $24 to make that part (as opposed to making it themselves or buying it somewhere else), the lulzbot is not doing anything wrong. The pricing isn't predatory. I can choose not to buy that item, juby dissidence - General
i think these guys use small gear pumps, https://www.youtube.com/user/LilGiantsConstrCo/videos, they always amaze me. i have always wondered if reprap could ever learn any tricks from these guys.by dissidence - General
i must not be alone in thinking those pumps are named really poorly. i would be willing to try treating the settings like that, i wonder though if you could deal with the pulsing that peristaltic are known to have.?by dissidence - General
I thought it would be a good exparament. Though I am not sure how I would go about making a object that detailed. what i have done so far.by dissidence - General
i am making a heat exchanger core with coroplast, but i just thought i would ask in anyone tried printing one with abs, or would that have too much thermal resistance compared to coroplast pieces.?by dissidence - General
don't forget not to oversell/over promise, that's what killed more than a few places in the reprap world too, know what you can do, and know your limits.by dissidence - General
the name for what i think you have is on the tip of my toung, gaaaaa. i think it has to do with the grounds, if the ground lever are different things don't wanna talk.by dissidence - Controllers
i know here in canada, canadian tire started to carry a IR thermal camera, still a lot more than that guy though...oh if i could only get that winning lottery ticket.by dissidence - General
if your motors are just turning, why not look into a geared dc motor, or is there a reason you need a stepper.?by dissidence - Controllers
I guess a lot will come down to that. I hope they don't cost a arm and a leg. If it is cheap enough it could prove interesting to see what we could do with it.by dissidence - Controllers
Im not thinking to use it for that. But I think if it could work. A person could put it into the SD slot then use it fore a network host for the ramps. Maybe it could even slice models too.by dissidence - Controllers
It uses the same drivers has the ramps board. You might even just want to look at some of the arduino examples if all you want to do is turn them all the same. A proto board and a little soldering might be your best option. The drivers are fairly simple. Look at sparkfun.com at there easy driver. If I remember right.by dissidence - Controllers
i think you might find a huxley hard to work with due to its small size, i know i have one. i think you might want to check out this part of the forum http://forums.reprap.org/list.php?194 it is more along the area you want to be in i think. i think marlin firmware would be able to work with you with minimum work, but off hand i do not know of much that works with melted sugar, i think it couldby dissidence - General
to me it looks more like there was just a bad connection there, aka a loose screw, and it heated up and maybe was arking a little bit.by dissidence - Controllers
yes that hardware will work to drive your steppers, here is your but though. what are you doing.? you may wish to look into something called a CNC Shield, it may be more suited to your taks. http://blog.protoneer.co.nz/arduino-cnc-shield/ all gcode is, is the instructions for the controler on where to move next, X,Y,Z, Eby dissidence - Controllers
just saw these today, http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2014-01/07/intel-edison its the intel edison, i think something like this could be a major boon to the reprap. if a guy could get it to work with a ramps board, i think it could be great for UI's and even networking them.by dissidence - Controllers
i have had a much similar experience to uGen, but i will say that PLA part for me liked to break with little notice.by dissidence - General
On a similar thought thou. I wonder what the best way to add a honey come part to a part of a print is. So that I could make a part more complex and in 1 piece not 2 or more.by dissidence - Slic3r
Sad to say but I'm going to suggest that you try looking for help on the IRC. You can find it on the Reprap homepage. I need to sleep now so I am sure they can help you faster. But they will ask you if you did check all your steppers. It is a basic thing to check. When you dissconect them you need to have all power turned off/unplugged. You can blow the pololu drivers if not.by dissidence - RAMPS Electronics
Did you test all your steppers too.? You might need to check your firmware so that you have your settings set right in it too.by dissidence - RAMPS Electronics
do all the motors work when you connect them to that driver on E1.? if they all do they are wired right. if not you will have to check your wire pairs on those motors. if they do work try changing the driver and seeing if the motors work, that will check your drivers. if they all work then you will have to start to check your PCB for bad solder joints. and other stuff like that.by dissidence - RAMPS Electronics
sounds a lot like you do not have your steppers wired up right, or that your pots on the drivers are set way too low or too high.by dissidence - RAMPS Electronics
i had a strange idea hit me last night and that was to use a geared stepper that would then drive belts to lift your Z axis, not all that different from a delta type system. its mostly just a strange idea that came to me, but i thought it might be worth a try, too bad the geared steppers are so pricy.by dissidence - Mechanics
i am looking for some chips to read RTD's with, but i am not sure what model numbers to look for, any help would be good.by dissidence - Experimental and Hobby
i opted for sd cards, its been working well for my, i just hook up the usb when i need fo changed things or need a little more control.by dissidence - General
the tip drill look nice though, i like the color coding. they do have the lined m6 stanless barrels i have been looking for, and cheap too. dose not help that i can't check out. so they lost a test buy.by dissidence - General
