Are you sure tou are not mistankely using PLA instead of ABS?by fsamir - Reprappers
Update adobe reader and it is all good now. Thanksby fsamir - RepRap magazine
the PaaS I mentioned before (AppFog) offer 2GB for free and it runs on top of Amazon AWS. I have no doubt that would be super simple to run Slic3r in the cloud. My idea lean more towards offering a Slic3r API, via web service, enabling applications developers to build software for RepRap software for Android, RPi, etc. Therefore, the challenge resides is in developing the Web Services layer, evby fsamir - Slic3r
Hi, just a heads-up. I cannot open the PDF file on both my macs and I never had issues with any PDFs before. Tried download both hi and low resolutions. Could that be the an issue when the file has been generated as PDF?by fsamir - RepRap magazine
That is a very good point. However, these days it isn't that difficult to get a free server in exchange for a banner of the hosting company, specially for a popular open source project, like Slic3r. It could even start in a free PaaS, like Appfog, and stay there until more power is required...by fsamir - Slic3r
Hi everyone, more and more people are trying to control RepRaps from small and not so powerfull computer, like Raspberry, BeagleBoard and more recently the PcDuino. These are cheap computers to buy and run (very low power consumption), which can run Pronterface, but have a hard time to run slicing software, like Slic3r. So, it seems that there is some run for a version of Slic3r running in a seby fsamir - Slic3r
I can't see a reason why not, but it will be quite slow. I got one yesterday and will be able to run a test in two or three weeks. That would be a nice use case for a Web Based version of Slic3r, running on a powerfull server.by fsamir - Slic3r
Hi Auzze, I have a Prusa Mendel and I would be interested in upgrading to a Kossel. As far as I could see I would need your parts, plus a circular glass, belts and that is it. Any other parts you can think of? I am trying to estimate how much money I will have to invest to make the upgrade.by fsamir - For Sale
Makergear.com M2 is also known as a reliable and stable 3D printer.by fsamir - General
Any plans to distribute PLA?by fsamir - Australia - for sale
Selling my 2 months old 3D printer for $849. It is FULLY ASSEMBLED, in perfect condition and with some vitamins and perks. I am only selling because I have upgrade to an Makergear M2. You can see the quality of the prints in the photos. Makergear is famous for building one of the highest quality RepRap printers, if not the best one. With this printer you can print with 0.1mm precision in botby fsamir - Australia - for sale
+1 for option 1. I had this issue a couple of times and it would be great to resume the GCode from where it has been paused. However, I think it is more valuable if we post these suggestions in the Software issue tracker itself.by fsamir - Repetier
Hi everyone, this part is a thick idler for a Makergear Prusa and it is 11mm tall, but the printing is coming up with 13.22mm. Also, the hole is actually a oval instead of a perfect circle. I thought that the oval effect was caused due to low tension on the X and Y belts, but that doesn't explain the excess height. Any thoughts?by fsamir - Printing
Yes, seriously. Probably none does, because they were targeting a different audience. Anyone planning to make money out of ~$100 software, should be looking at supporting both platforms. Specially because Desktop 3D printers are likely to bring a new group of clients into play, an audience of geeks, which also happen to be mac users.by fsamir - 3D Design tools
$49 bucks seems very attractive, unfortunatelly it doesn't run on Macos.by fsamir - 3D Design tools
In Australia a SolidWork license cost $8200.00. For someone spending ~$1000 in a RepRap is quite difficult to digest the idea of paying 8x the price of the hardware itself for hobbist purposes.by fsamir - 3D Design tools
Hi there, thanks for the advice. I will go towards the Panel Mount option. I got some from the electronics store, but I will be working on an Openscad version as well. I will share once it is done.by fsamir - 3D Design tools
To be more exact, the connector is this one:by fsamir - 3D Design tools
The USB connector is similar to the one in the image below, but mine is without the plastic parts. So, I was hoping that the ridges would host the little connector flaps By more solid, I mean that I can easily place the connector in the enclosure wall, push and pull USB cables without moving the connector. I think I will have to make an mine enclosure for the connector and plug it in the enclby fsamir - 3D Design tools
Maybe, you will have to test. If that is the case, you can limit the y-axis by changing it in the firmware. However, I wouldn't limit the print size because a clip. I would rather try to find a larger glass or some other way that doesn't limit the print size.by fsamir - Repetier
Hi everyone, I have been designing an enclosure and I am stuck in the design of a female USB holder. I came up with a super simple hole that isn't very solid and I also tried to find something like an enclosure's library on the web. This is what I have at the moment. Can you guys suggest something more solid? //usb hole for(i = [0:usb_connectors-1]){ translate( v=) { //gap inside of hby fsamir - 3D Design tools
Move the end-stop. Alternatively, on Repetier you can define the bed boundaries, I just don't think it will work when the printer is homing.by fsamir - Repetier
Mine does that from time to time and it is sometimes because of bad bed leveling. As my z-endstop is the standard one, it moves, causing the be level to be too high, whihch will lead the extruder to drag the printer. Make sure you bed is leveled and you can hardly move two sheets of paper between the extruder and the bed.by fsamir - Printing
If you don't want to move the end stops, you can change it by software. This is an example with Sprinter Firmware:by fsamir - Printing
I agree. My previous comment was a bit unfair.by fsamir - General
The fact that you haven't got a response within 24hs is a very negative point, in my opinion. Specially because it is a business strictly online.by fsamir - General
Following the thread, as I am also looking for a quick STL visualizer for MACOS. The closest one I found is Pleasant 3D, but the integration with MACOs is far from wonderfull.by fsamir - General
Hi everyone, I am trying to design an Y pipe with OpenScad and I am wondering if there is an easy way to make any object holow. My design is basically 3 cylinders forming an Y and I would like to make it holow and open at the tips. I tried something like this without much success: difference() { yTube(); scale(v=[0.8, 0.8, 1.1]) yTube(); } The more verbose version, which is also not finby fsamir - 3D Design tools
Hi, usually those kits come with everything you need to start ptinting, but in order to print consistently you will need a bunch of other parts. To name a few: wrenches, caliper, blue tape, spool holder, cooling fan + support, sharp knife ABS related: Kapton tape and acetoneby fsamir - Reprappers
I got a Prusa Mendel from Makergear and I recommend. High quality parts, smart extruder design and good technical support.by fsamir - General
