Thanks, I can see your approach, but it didn't work and even if it did I would end up with some big holes, when the maximum should be 5mm diameter
Just to clarify, the radius of each hole should increase by 0.05 and the distance between holes should increase by 0.05.
Holes should have a diameter in the range 3.0 to 5.0 in steps of 0.1mm.
Hope thats clearer
Thanks for your help.

I'm trying to construct a small scad to produce 20 holes in a platform of increasing size of 0.05 whilst maintaining the same distance between adjacent hole edges.
this is what I have tried
difference(){
cube ([100,8,3]);
for (x= [1:5:100]){
for (y=[3.0:0.05:4.9]){
translate() cylinder(h=4,r=y+0.05);
}}
It will be obvious that for each value of x it produce

Does anybody know of a fan that will produce the same airflow and pressure as the one supplied with the ormerod but run a lot quieter?

I have tried all sorts to try and resolve this issue, @Darathy suggested turning off healing but that did not resolve the problem. Turning the object also did not help.
@Treito, Sven,
What did solve the problem was to reduce the layer height from 2.4 to 2.2.
Thank you for that suggestion, I would never have thought that reducing layer height would solve the issue.

Hi all,
I am trying to print my latest hot end and have a problem with S3D filling in an air slot.
This is as it should be
this is what happens a little higher, the air slot at the bottom has been bridged.
I have played around with the settings and the scad file but am unable to resolve this. I'm sure I am missing something obvious but I just can't see it.

I have turned off all other equipment and still I could ping 192.168.1.84. It then dawned on me that that must be the ip address of the main computer.
It didn't used to be 192.168.1.84 so I'm not sure why or how its changed.
I have changed the ormerod to a new address and all is working well.
Sorry for all the noise but I was just frustrated at not being able to solve the problem.

Thank you David,
I processed that command but it didn't work I still get web page is not available.
I'll try linux as well and see if that works.

Thank you Dave, I'll try that.
The good news is that the printer is now printing using Pronterface.
Still can't connect with the web interface.
Tried arp -d but it failed as you quite rightly said it requires elevation.----How do I do that?

Thank you David,
I have checked all the wiring and all seems well. I can ping my ormerod and the response is correct.
Also Pronterface is showing:-

Starting network
Network up, IP=192.168.1.84
Setting hotend temperature to 195.000000 degrees Celsius.
Setting bed temperature to 35.000000 degrees Celsius.
The bed heats up but the hotend remains cold.

I switched on this morning and could not connect via the web browser but the error page says "This web page is not available,ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED" , tried Pronterface and the temps are showing correct when cold.
If I switch on the main 12 volt power, I can move all three axis and heat the bed but the hot end is just not heating, occasionally the red light on the duet flashes and the amber light

Just run dmould's g file and the head moves at the lowest x position to give a movement in the positive direction.

Just an update......The DAB radio problem is solved.
I have used an external 5 volt supply and now I can print and listen to radio 5 live without interference.
Thanks for all the suggestions

Your problem seems to be the same as the one I had a few months ago.
It was solved for me by upgrading the firmware to dc42 or zpl's latest.
Just make sure you read the information about motor cable connections and sys changes on the sd card.

Thanks to all,
First I'll try a separate 5 volt supply and see if that solves the problem
If not, I will have to steal some foil from the wife's kitchen Always wanted to dabble in the "black arts"

Thanks to all, great information.
My DAB radio has a telescopic aerial which rotates, no aerial socket.
Back to the drawing board.
I think I will try screening the cables as Dave suggested, I suppose I need to screen all of the ormerod cables.
Thanks again

Putting a different aerial (or changing the position) of the DAB radio may also be an easy solution if you are currently relying on a simple telescopic aerial. The most common DAB frequency in use in the UK is around 220MHz, and making a simple folded dipole for that frequency from 300ohm twinlead oriented so that its axis (null direction) is toward the printer might work.

Again thanks for the replies,
The reason I was thinking about screened cable is the fact that my ormerod 1 interferes with my DAB radio, I suppose it will not help because the duet is not screened. rethink needed.

@Treito Thank you for the info, I have looked on ebay for the PHR-6 connector but they look different from the connector on my ormerod
Also I could not find what crimps I would need.
@dc42 Thanks for the info, have ordered all I need
Do you know where I could get the connector shell and pins for the Nema 17 stepper motor?

Hi I have a new duet board v0.6 and have a few questions
1.Do I need to use the 5volt extension board or is there a jumper so an on board 5 volt can be used?
2.I need to make up a new wiring loom so what is the type and size of the 5,4,3 and 2 connectors on the board?
3. This loom will need to connect with the stepper motors, what is the type and size of the 6 way connectors?
It looks as if I c

I have searched the web and keep coming up with more problems, having tried various converters without success, I thought I would ask the experts on this forum for help.
What I want to do is to load from the ormerod-master (ormerod1), the y-axis-end-plate.dxf file and modify it in openscad or bring it into openscad as a stl file.
Can anybody help with this please?

Is this really worth the effort?
When ever I use this button the file is loaded very quickly and then the temperatures are set and the print starts as soon as the set temperatures are reached.
To save startup time I set my bed temps whilst homing.

Well, after a lot of fiddling around with various printer and slicer settings to try and solve nozzle blockages, I have finally been able to print the ormaxis test item using one 0.5mm nozzle. The thing that worked for me was increasing the hot end temperature by 10C.
I don't think that the quick set nozzle was the only problem, I have a newly designed hot end that produces air flow on 3 sides o

The network code I use is almost identical to zpl's code, because I resynced to his code in one of my recent releases (1.09b AFAIR). However, because of differences in the way the Arduino core is implemented, there is some network initialisation code for the network that runs as a different point in my fork compared to zpl's. Also I use different code to wait for config.g code to finish
