Does anyone know of a source of 3/8" helical acme to stepper couplers? I am having trouble finding them.by jzatopa - General
You might as well switch to kapton + a heat spreader.by jzatopa - General
I don't see why you can't do this but you will want to let your customers know about the limitations of current 3d printing technology. Will you be painting the parts? Have you considered the time it is going to take to scan, catalog and model every part in 3d? You may also want to consider cncing some of the parts as that may be a better tool depending on each parts design. BTW this sounds lby jzatopa - General
Sounds awesome, have you tried building it yet?by jzatopa - General
could someone tell me the process of replacing the heat cartridge? My problems are coming from the fact that the cartridge in my nozzle is for 12V and I really need one for 24V. You just can't turn down the settings enough to make things work.by jzatopa - General

I am still waiting on a refund. I received some money back but I am still missing a big chunk of change.by jzatopa - General
I just received my first shipment of plastic and I am working on getting my site up and running. I will be selling 3mm and 1.75mm filament in white, black, natural and safety orange as well as nylon. I plan on expanding my color offerings as I can afford to. It is very expensive to stock every single color in every format available. I'm not out of stock but I also haven't officially opened myby jzatopa - General
I setup a fan pointing at the barrel and now I have had 2 really good prints. I went to start a large print just now and got a jam. The key for my setup has been pointing a fan right at the barrel and making sure I set the right fan speed settings in KISSlicer. I think the jam was because I tried to slow down the fan and it didn't have enough airflow.by jzatopa - General
Well I have to say that although this is a good all metal design, it really needs to be shipped with a fan and fan mount that attaches to the nozzle.by jzatopa - General
Just got my nozzle today, abs worked right off the bat. Pla was an immediate jam. Has anyone at all got pla to print reliably? Do I need to cool the barel of the nozzle with a fan?by jzatopa - General
I have used feet and they work great but they are not the final answer. I think a lot more could be done in terms of noise/vibrationby jzatopa - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
I am going to keep this updated so you guys know how things go. Last night Ezra did refund me the money for my hot end order. I have not yet received a tracking number for my glass order but I do believe him when he says that it was shipped out.by jzatopa - General
Great job but is this faster than printing multiple pieces on the same print? It looks like you could print a huge number of those gears on one print bed at the same time, why print serially?by jzatopa - General
As of last night Ezra has told me that he has already mailed out my first order of glass and that he will refund my money for the hotends I purchased and did not receive today. I will keep all of you guys informed of how things get handled.by jzatopa - General

I too have been waiting 10 weeks for parts I ordered from Ezra. The first order was for glass that I was told would take 2-3 weeks to get, I was fine with that and paypaled him the money directly and expected to wait. While I was waiting I ordered a batch of 20 magma hotends from Ezra and paid for them through his site, the order was supposed to include a sample piece for myself to test out. Iby jzatopa - General
thainfamousnate have you tried going hotter? It seems that SS doesn't conduct heat very well, maybe you need to go hotter then you expect.by jzatopa - General
Not sure it would work but you should look into nylon. Taulman has some FDA approved filament on the way.by jzatopa - Tissue Engineering
Good idea, how well do you think it would work on a larger print?by jzatopa - General

Does your hotend look like this one? I'm not seeing any others on their site.by jzatopa - General
What hotend are you using? I found that what I thought was an extruder problem was a hotend problem. New hot end, no problems. If your hotend doesn't work just right, to much pressure builds up or the hot end clogs.by jzatopa - General
Chances are there are other improvements you could make to your machines movement that would result in better print resolution rather then changing your motors. You may also want to consider switching to a stepper driver that has 1/32 microstepping as an alternative as well.by jzatopa - General
I love my 3d printer but the one thing I do not love about it is the noise it makes. The printer isn't actually that noisy, per se, but I want to be able to sleep and not hear it printing in the next room. I did some searching and found this blog post on the problem and how to go about solving them. http://ebldc.com/?p=187 Has anyone played around with this at all already?by jzatopa - Let's design something!
