Would Marlin work without it? I don't remember all that I did, but I assume* the having uploaded a working Marlin firmware and being able to upload in the first place means yes? I'll have to check that out.by MrDoctorDIV - Repetier
Not one 'bit.' *snaps fingers I tried switching between Adruino Mega and Megatronics in the board list and a few other small things like removing everything and making different faces at it, but no luck.by MrDoctorDIV - Repetier
Quotevreihen Try 115,200 baud, 8 data bits, one stop bit, no parity. It is a little slow, but 100% compatible with just about everything and works on my Megatronics 2.0 board..... I already tried 115,200 baud and 8 bits, I don't know why I didn't notice that earlier. But I don't know what you mean by one stop bit and no parity.by MrDoctorDIV - Repetier
Different parts of the forum listed on the home page have indicators for new posts and new topics. They don't show up until you read one. But I want to know how to stop this. I've looked in a few just being curious, but I look for new stuff by scrolling down to find the red. I'm a bit of a neat freak and I only want to see the red on pages I read, is there a way to remove them from showing up anby MrDoctorDIV - General
Quotecdru As nozzle diameter goes up, extrusion speed goes down but resolution, detail, and finish go down. Check it- As nozzle D rises so does speed, quality lowering; vice versa. Quotecdru Filament diameter is personal preferenece mixed with printer capabilities. Smaller diameter filaments can make direct drive easier or allow for more compact extruders. At one time 3mm was cheaper than 1.75by MrDoctorDIV - General
How stable would 20X20mm extrusions be at about 1080mm? Cost is *significantly* less. Heck I could even add two more veritcal rails to support the longer sides and still run about 3/4 the price.by MrDoctorDIV - General
Still looking for the parts? I'm down in Mont, but I'll be traveling up there in about a month, two at most. I'm in the process of fixing my printer, but it should be up soon enough.by MrDoctorDIV - RepRap User Group - Birmingham, Alabama
Alright, thanks for the help guys. I'll give it a go when time allows.by MrDoctorDIV - Repetier
Weight is little issue for me. I plan to mount my printer to a work bench/table of sort. I want maximum stability. I have plans for a light/mobile one in the distant future, but not one bit for the current project. Thank you for the info, aluminum ext. has definitely bumped up in the options tier.by MrDoctorDIV - General
Ooooo, this is something I will be following, for sure.by MrDoctorDIV - Delta Machines
So what do I do when I want to go faster? I'm not building this printer to be slow..by MrDoctorDIV - Repetier
That was another thought! Aluminum extrusions are so cheap, but a large part of me doesn't see them as sturdy enough.by MrDoctorDIV - General
Oh yes, I'm all over the stability. I won't sacrifice one bit of that. I go so far as to not use wood. I know it works, it's common and all that jazz, but I am planning to overbuild this printer. And yes, it splits in half, each having two sections. I would use the top of one, though I did honestly think about using the whole thing for a massive beast of a printer.by MrDoctorDIV - General
There are a few different things to do in the way of extrusion. Measure steps/mm to provide accurate firmware movement (yes, what you just said), getting an accurate measurement of your filament, and then changing your extrusion width if the first two don't provide perfection. I've had much difference in the way of numbers compared to everyone else (ie, I print PLA at 162C), but for comparison Iby MrDoctorDIV - Printing
Rather than fully building a body for my printer, could I just use Whalen Shelving or similar? It seemed pretty sturdy when I attempted to shake it. I could just add peices rather than making the entire body. Anything wrong with this? It would save a lot of money compared to having my body made by a local fab.by MrDoctorDIV - General
I've rebooted since uploading and tested since rebooting. Yeah, being able to upload without issue and getting odd stuff in return purplexes me, even though I'm no programmer. I can design mechanical designs all around, but I need hand holding in the software side of things. Patch just for me? And I thought I was just a guy off on the sidelines. 3ntrlab, do you have a config available?by MrDoctorDIV - Repetier
That GPL License brings up some ideas. Are they hard to come by? Expensive? Or more importantly, would it be an effective tool against the industries copyrighting the RepRap Community's work, allowing open source designs to stay just that; open source?by MrDoctorDIV - General
I'm just going to throw it out there that I think MatterHacker's spools are perfect the way they are. The white ones are the lower quality, while the black ones are higher quality. I can tell, just by looking, what I am buying, and each gives their own feel of quality. I've only used one printer so I can't say anything about size, but it's just right for me.by MrDoctorDIV - Printing
I've tried two different baud rates, uploading and changing configuration.h each time and changing Rep. Host double checking both are the same. One ASNI baud rate, the other not. If you've got a working Megatronics Repetier Firmware, could you send me the config file so I can see what I have different?by MrDoctorDIV - Repetier
Has anyone tried Sony's ~$50,000 4K projector yet?by MrDoctorDIV - General
Looks like too high extrusion, but I'm no expert like some around here.by MrDoctorDIV - Printing
Just throwing a future idea out there, by no means is this currently practical; an inkjet/hotend two-in-one. Around the main nozzle hole are more holes for the flow of ink, directly deposited onto extruded plastic. An idea I've had, but know of no way to make and test something requiring precision as I don't see it being makeable with home tools.by MrDoctorDIV - Developers
Well, it's worked for about a year, I do have a Solidoodle and I've seen places that say SD temps should be lower. I have absolutely no issues related to temp.by MrDoctorDIV - Printing
I print PLA at 162C, for comparisons. I've never had jams due to expansion. In my early days my jams were only from experimenting with retraction, once I got that figured out I have yet to jam again.by MrDoctorDIV - Printing
Whelp, doesn't seem to work either.by MrDoctorDIV - Repetier
O.o I've got 16GB and I can decode HD video, play games, and stream said games all at the same time and I have absolutely no problem printing.by MrDoctorDIV - Printing
Pictures of the print help identify the patterns in where it's stopping. Could be anything from skipped steps to skipping hobs to plugging by debris.by MrDoctorDIV - Printing
PLA. Low temp; 162 Low acceleration; 1100 Low speed; 45 perimeter, 35 small I could print the little handle and details on a Tardis door and suprised myself with no strings to remove. I did no post processing besides gluing the parts together. I used to print everything that way and my prints came out better than the industrial printer here at work, by far. Then I upgraded the little guy and I caby MrDoctorDIV - Printing
Dawned on me this might be my extruder not getting enough power? Is there such thing as too much power? I had to shift around my stepper drivers when I did some electronics work and testing.by MrDoctorDIV - Printing
