WOW folks!!! Who would have thought that extruder calibration was part of the problem. I had changed filament brands/color and had not recalibrated my extruder. Extruding 115mm on a 100mm call. Reflashed my firmware with the new calculations and all looks good. I guess too much plastic caused high spots that snagged the extruder and knocked everthing out of whack. Lesson learned.by kayej - Reprappers
Thanks BRUCEHVN for the settings. I will give them a try and see what happens.by kayej - Reprappers
I have the same problem and have not solved it yet. Interested in replies to your questions.by kayej - Printing
Would you check your settings and let me know what you have for step per unit??? Thanksby kayej - Reprappers
#define DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT {80,78.80,4000,760*1.1} // default steps per unit for Ultimaker These are the Marlin firmware settings I downloaded from the DIY Tech Shop web page for my machine. Not sure if I should tweak them or not. Please advise. Thanks.by kayej - Reprappers
Prusa I3X clone from DIY Tech Shop. Z axis appears to be ok.....layers look good etc. X carriage remains level. Got me stumped.by kayej - Reprappers
Wondering if any other folks are having this problem. Extruder nozzel hits print when moving and causes the x axis to mis steps and go out of sync. I have z lift at .3 and extruder retraction at .5. This is very frustrating. I have also slowed down the x movement in default max feedrate from 500 to 300 and default acceleration from 3000 to 1000. Thanksby kayej - Reprappers
Sorry to bother the forum. Found the answer and further searching. Lower the z axis home speed. Worked.by kayej - Reprappers
Prusa I3X clone. Z Axis moves up and down great when moved via Pronterface manual control. When instructed to home is just wines/stutters and does not move. All other axis home fine. M119 gives correct end stop values on all axis. Stepper voltage set correctly. Help!! Hints on what to check please. No binding on smooth rods or threaded rods.by kayej - Reprappers
I fell into the same trap. Fortunately I was able to see the "writing on the wall" and requested and received a refund before the bottom fell out. I never received my printer even after waiting several months. I recently ordered a DIY Tech Shop Prusa I3X printer and have had a ball putting it together. Their customer support is light years ahead of EZ3D and I am almost ready to print my first proby kayej - General
Is there a way to test my Prusa I3X steppers without having the heatbed, thermisters, hotend wired up. I keep getting a "mintemp" error when trying to test the unit using pronterface. Ramps 1.4 board and Arduino 2560 running Marlin. Thanks.by kayej - General
Wow!! Those support brackets look outstanding. Are the printed parts available on thingiverse?? If not where did you get them and what size is the aluminum?? Thanks.by kayej - Prusa i3 and variants
