This evening i tried a few of the suggestions, I have made a little progress but the issue isn't resolved. First I tried increasing the bed temperature, reducing the extruder temperature and reducing the first layer print speed further (I was already printing at 30mm/s and I dropped it to 20). None of these really made a difference to my issue, though the reduced temperature slightly improved thby posthuman_1000 - Printing
Thanks for the ideas, I will try them out tonight. Quoteggherbaz use a layer height not bigger than 60-70% of your nozzle size. I've got a 0.4mm nozzle and printing at 0.3mm (if I recall correctly), so that's 75%, otherwise it's printing at 0.2mm which is obviously 50%. Which of slightly-above or far-below is preferable? Hi I'm struggling with an issue of poor adhesion between the first and second layers of my prints, there always seems to be a gap that develops between the first two layers of the prints, even though the rest of the print is pretty good quality. The edge of the first layer then tends to split off at the weak seem if it's a part that handled a lot. See the attached picture for an example, can anby posthuman_1000 - Printing
Hi I'm getting a very similar issue. I consistently get points on the print where less plastic is extruded. To make matters worse, when this occurs, the hot end then sometimes picks up the previous layer and stretches it, totally messing up the layer and distorting the overall print. After inspecting and running loads of test prints (including varying temperature and print speed), I finally notby posthuman_1000 - General Mendel Topics
Great, thanks for confirming, the vendor said the same thing. Not that I didn't trust them but an independent second opinion is appreciated. Was planning to go with 3mm borosilicate glass as that seems be fairly commonly available, but I'll look into the aluminium plate as well.by posthuman_1000 - Reprappers
Not an answer I'm afraid, but another question on the same topic. What rating should the wire be for the heated bed? How much currently does it typically draw?by posthuman_1000 - Reprappers
I received a heated bed PCB that I had ordered today. I'm surprised to see that it isn't perfectly flat. Should it be? When laid on a flat surface, the middle is 1 - 2mm above the edges. Is this a normal variation within the product or is mine faulty? The pcb is quite flexible and I think it will be held flat by clipping it to a rigid piece of glass, will a 3mm glass correct this bowing withoutby posthuman_1000 - Reprappers
Hi I would like to contribute to the wiki. I've been trying to figure out for AGES why I wasn't able to set up an account! I thought I was just being an idiot. Please could I have an account created too. Thanksby posthuman_1000 - Administration, Announcements, Policy
