Funny thing is on the material head which uses teh same nozzle it doesn't use a shroud. Straight nozzle.by Curlrup - Reprappers
Built a carrage for my extruder. I know what your thinking why is the surface finish rough around and under holes. On an Objet machine you can run parts in Glossy mode or Matte mode. In Matte mode it covers the entire part with the support material which gives you a smooth but matte finish like you see under and around the holes. In glossy mode it will only putt down support material underby Curlrup - Reprappers
Here you go. This is an old crusty support tip it just screws onto the support head. It has some residue on it because it has a small ceramic shroud that protects it and itgets some material between it and the shroud sometimes but a little wire brushing and it would look great and probably work really well too. I shot it against my RP'd (Objet) Carrage part for the Darwin I am building for a sby Curlrup - Reprappers

I will try to take some pics here of an old one. It's an old design but I think a good design.by Curlrup - Reprappers
I might have access to some crusty but still extrude-able FDM nozzles. WOuld that be a good choice for a RepRap. I always lived by the montra no sense in reinventing the wheel. The FDM nozzles are a proven design. Just a thought. Curlyby Curlrup - Reprappers

Does anyone have the STL files for the pinch wheel extruder/thermoplast extruder V2.0? I found the source but they are ina file format I am not familar with and Solidworks will not recognize it. I would really appreciate it. Thanks Curlyby Curlrup - Mechanics

I'm pricing electronics for my Reprap. I see from Makerbot they sell the suggested NEMA 23 Stepper for $28.00 and the NEMA 17 for $15.00 which was speced for the Cupcake. The big question is since the 17 and the 23 have 200 steps can is use the cheaper 17 and get the same results or does the 23 have extra torque? Thanks. Curlyby Curlrup - Controllers
Here is that build finished. I have another build rolling now. Gotta love that Objet machine. This one you can see the print head. More to come.by Curlrup - Reprappers

Thanks for the link. I will keep checking and order what I can when I can.by Curlrup - Controllers
Here are some pics of what I ran today. As I said I LOVE my Objet machine it is such an awesome machine. Below is my next build. figured I would get some smaller stuff out of the way. Curlyby Curlrup - Reprappers
Yep I saw that kit and thought awesome my problems are solved and then I saw the out of stock listing and figured that would not be remedied anytime soon. So if I did not have the kit option what would be my best option? Also is there another cheaper stepper motor? Thansk for the help folks I apprciate it.by Curlrup - Controllers
I just ran 4 corner blocks and they look awesome. Pics to come soon. I am running more parts now.by Curlrup - Reprappers
There are so many options out there, I need to know what electronics option for my Darwin is going to be the best? I am someone who has basic circut knowledge and can solder componenets but I know little to nothing about coding or controlers for stepper motors. Any suggestions? I run a multitude of RP/3D Printers at work (see signature). I have always mentioned to my co-workers that I would love a home machine to tinker on but since I don't have $5,000 to $10,000 laying around for something I would be less than satisfied with, I figured that day would come when 10 years from now when the technology gets cheaper. I then stumbled upon the RepRap Community it was the ansby Curlrup - Reprappers
LOM while a great technology is rarely used, I have yet to run into someone who is still using LOM parts in the professional RP world. For open source and the RepRap community it could be another material offering.by Curlrup - Reprappers

I am very excited about building a RepRap for myself to use at home. I have been running various professional RP machines for years. Anyway as someone who has run FDM machines, and someone who just stumbled upon the RepRap movement. I have to ask. Is anyone keeping their material dry? Hello, I force installed Java 1.5.0 on my Mac G4 Mini and tried running the RepRap host to take a look at it before I start building my RepRap. I know little to nothing about Java or running something from the terminal. What do I instal or click on to run this? I checked the website and directions are under construction. Thank you. Curly I run daily an SLS, SLA, FDM, Zcorp, and Objet. Hopiby Curlrup - RepRap Host

I was part of a focus group for HP at a confrence asking what kind of 3D printing we would like to see. I would assume they would develope a type of printer head technology like and Objet machine before going a Fused Deposition route like the RepRapby Curlrup - General
