Hey everyone I am making this thread firstly and mostly to let you all know about a vendor I recently dealt with. Please understand this was nothing but a GREAT experience Disclaimer: I AM NOT RELATED TO, NOR WORK FOR, OR ARE IN ANY WAY TIED TO THIS COMPANY AT ALL. I am simply a customer with something to say So let me explain.... I have a Prusa I3 which I bout as my second printer and it wasby coogrrr - General
Ill get it and set it up today... and yes I'll download the proper file this time..... Jamesby coogrrr - Prusa i3 and variants
Yes WSDH I will be posting a video of it running and I will be using a much better camera/device than my craptastic phone. I am wrapping up the spool holders and getting my Z-Probe mounted then its off to the races. Should be real soon when I can start printing and making a video. I have been asked to do a writeup on the Krakken Print head as well so later in this thread I will do a more formalby coogrrr - Prusa i3 and variants
Just to mention it once again... Thanks Dave and Chris!!!!! and I need to mention that my duaghter helped with a bunch of this build! Thanks again B!by coogrrr - Prusa i3 and variants
I had a Prusa i3 that I purchased and all I learned was it matters whom you buy from. I bought another Prusa i3 and it was night and day better. I print with it daily without fail. I thought about what I would do with the original Prusa i3 and looked around for some mods etc and stumbled upon the Krakken print head produced by E3D and loved the multi-color, multi-filament options it affords withby coogrrr - Prusa i3 and variants
Very nice case. I would print that in a heartbeat except my enclosure is a custom cabinet so I have to design and print my own. I still maintain that pictures are coming on the whole thing! Thanks again to you David and Chris for all the help given and I am sure for the future help I'll request! Jamesby coogrrr - Ormerod
WOO HOO!!!! touch screen calibrated!!!!! Dammit Dave!!!!!!!!! Give me something I can do for you! Let me print something or send money SOMETHING!!!! I need to be able to thank you in more than a posting! Gratefully - James edited - attached image of my lovely new 7" LCD PanelDue that will be mounted to my Prusa Krakken today!by coogrrr - Ormerod
Ok so now I downloaded with the RAW link. I got both firmwares the 4.3 is 77kb this time but the 7" is 102kb. I assume the 7" is supposed to be a bit larger right?by coogrrr - Ormerod
ummm ... ok dont kill me.... my file is 28k and both firmwares are 28k in my download folder..... I messed that up right.... ok so another beer owed to you for catching me being dumb again. I will go attempt to get the proper bin file now. Jamesby coogrrr - Ormerod
Thanks for the updated batch file but still no joy. I had the original interface with 2 hot ends and a bed it was very basic. I wanted the new interface on the 4.3 so I did these steps... 1. Plugged into USB only no Duet connections of any kind. 2. Pushed Erase button 3. Pushed Reset button 4. Found COM port - only one on my machine - COM3 5. Did this programming line - "bossac.exe --port=COM3 -by coogrrr - Ormerod
So I seem to have run into a problem... I took the board connected it to machine - hit erase and reset and it showed up as com3 - I used Dougs batch file - edited for com3 and for the 4.3 bin file. It flashes and the results (see attached image) are that the panel is now showing nothing but white. I touched the screen in previously known spots - no sounds - so I flashed it again but it remains wby coogrrr - Ormerod
Dave, Chris, Doug.... Little help please.... I got my 7" LCD I also made the wire connection on the back of the controller board. I have downloaded the latest firmware and I am sure I have been told somewhere about the bossac program... Can you give a quick 1 2 3 on loading this with the firmware? Thanks in advance! Jamesby coogrrr - Ormerod
I saw this same behavior on mine. It was related to my Google Chrome browser. I had to clear the cache of any history that went to the printer. For me this was only a day or so back. I did not clear my saved passwords or other stuff just the browser history. Once I did this it came up in Chrome as it would normally. I chalked this up to my computer but now that I have seen it a second time maybby coogrrr - Ormerod
Looking great! Dave for all your efforts I would like to thank you in some small way. I have a printer that can do single color on 200x300mm bed. If you send over your .STL file I would like to print a case for your 7" display in your color choice and send it to you! Just be a way to thank you..... now to find a way to thank ZPL!... I have some ideas.... Jamesby coogrrr - Ormerod
Doug, Did you order using the link Dave provided? I did and mine hasn't shown up yet either. I did order mine after you did but I worry with it taking this long. I guess I will give it a full 30 days to get here?!??! Then go after the seller. James Quotedougal1957 Dave Those colours are about right I think when I went into the setup and inverted it it was very strange the calibration was ofby coogrrr - Ormerod
For all the trouble it will be worth on that little limit switch - yep I am going to convert to the IR Sensor Probe - placing order now! Might get a second one for the other printer too! Going to need to dig thru the manual to understand how I should set this up. James Quotedc42 I can't help you with servo wiring because I have never used them. If you are only using the servo to deploy a Z proby coogrrr - Controllers
Hey Dave - thanks for the information above - ZPL has been working with me and I am nearly done getting my Prusa - Krakken to come to life - one of the very last topics is the Z Probe for my machine. Since this was built as a Prusa I replicated what I knew which was all Marlin style.... Now with a Duet I need to figure out how to setup the auto-bed leveling for this machine.... First part beforeby coogrrr - Controllers
So Chris.... If I completely remove the 1.6.5 can I install 1.6.1 and use your tree? I am not particularly attached to any version - 1.x anything works fine for my Marlin so I can back down to a version of Arduino you recommend and tested to work with your boards addition. Yes the Powershell script is wonderful - in fact so nice that If I could get the PS IDE to deal with Arduino properly I woulby coogrrr - Ormerod
Ok Just need to add this! I have gotten the file to compile. Even though Arduino is in failed state the boards patch worked. The firmware compiled and I was able to upload though I had to get the bossac.exe file out of a zip and place it into the location your .ps1 script was looking for it. Point is it compiled and uploaded - my stock PanelDue is connected and able to control the printer as welby coogrrr - Ormerod
Quotezombiepantslol To those who are interested: I've just released version 1.09l which fixes a bug where certain pull-ups weren't properly disabled. I am going to try to burn this to my duet while I wait for a reply on a PM I sent you. The tough thing is I am unsure whether the firmware will run my printer properly and may need to make config adjustments. I know many of these can be done with Gby coogrrr - Ormerod
Quotedc42 The DueX4 has a 26-pin expansion connector. Connect the PanelDue to that. In the fitting instructions at you will find the pin numbers in the table column "DueX4 expansion connector". I think the pin names are marked on the back of the DueX4. You can use the 8-way shell to connect pins 1, 4 and 5, and the crimp pin by itself to connect pin 21. I am sorry I don't have a photo - I guessby coogrrr - Ormerod
Quotezombiepantslol Those pins are available on the expansion header, just have a look at this document: Zombie - I got and reviewed the spreadsheet - I have also found the pinout for the the 50pin expansion as well. The main issue is I have a ribbon covering that entire set of pins going to the Duex4 expansion board so I can run additional steppers for my quad print head. If I cannot get to tby coogrrr - Ormerod
Hey Dave, sorry to bother but I sent you a PM here on the Firmware.... My main question in this post is do you (or anyone else reading) have info on how to wire my PanelDue to my Deux4 board with a Duext4 v0.6 main. This setup (didnt know when I bought it) does not have separate header for the TX and RX. I am powering off my PS 3.3v so I am good there is turns on and looks great but how do I coby coogrrr - Ormerod
Awesome information - I can set it up so that the fan will blow directly across the chips in my design. Much appreciated. Jamesby coogrrr - Controllers
Yes on point 1 - and double yeah! on point 2. This is actually my 3rd printer and I have done a CNC prior. So while still a nooblet and student to this Duet and the the expansion I certainly heed those warnings with top priority! You also made me think about something when you said driver chips.... Did you or do you recommend that I put the heatsink stickum and heatsinks on the duet? I will haveby coogrrr - Controllers
and then... BAM!!!! Dave shows up! Thanks again - think were going to become fast friends! Ok got it - the two A wire next to each other and the 2 B next to each other.... for me if I am wiring my stepper to Extruder 1 on the expansion board it is going to be exactly as the picture shows. My stepper document says Red and Blue are both B and on the wiring diagram this is the first and second piby coogrrr - Controllers
O_Lampe - I guess I am not understanding. The Duet as shown in the picture from left to right is re-blue-green-black - are you saying I should just match them? The web page I sent you specifically stats that the Black is A+ Green is A- and Red is B+ and Blue is B-. As far as I know it does matter which wire goes to which pin so that your sending step pulses to the proper pair and direction to tby coogrrr - Controllers
Hey everyone I need a quick hand on this one..... I have the Duet with expansion board. I am wiring these steppers to it - and though the colors match its all A and B rather than Step and Dir...... So based on this image - Can anyone tell me what wires match up to which pins on the the board please. If you explain 1 I will replicate to the other steppers. Yes I am doing 4 extruders on tby coogrrr - Controllers
Doug, I know I need to RTFM sometimes - I refreshed the page after my request and found those links..... Sorry guys. I did head straight off and bought the 7" display as I figured the 4.3 I have now (2 of them) was close enough that I would skip the 5" for now and do the larger format. So now its a waiting game on it and Dave to give us this AWESOME CODE! Thanks for the links Doug! Thanks for tby coogrrr - Ormerod
Speaking of which..... Got a link for the 7" and 5" panel you bought? I will buy the same! Thanks in advance yet again! Jamesby coogrrr - Ormerod
