Hi All, When I print PLA all dimensions are perfect (external dimensions and also holes diameter). When I print ABS, print quality is excellent, but all external dimensions and also holes diameter are lower than expected (few tenth of millimeter, but for nut slot this is important) I think this is because ABS shrink. Hi dc42, good job ! In your hothend airduct there are only two holes for the airflow, but in the original ormerod part there are 3 holes. When i tested Matt's solution, i had some issues when printing long parts or bridges over the y axis, this because the central hole is important to cool the PLA. The same part printed with the original duct was better. Now i'm using an hotend airduct with holeby gammasistemi - Ormerod
I've sliced with slic3r RC3 and printed some parts today with fw 057w First layer is printed slowly and all the others are printed at normal speed. The final quality is unchanged from RC2. May be that you have set one parameter that affect the infill/solid every n layers? i.e. Infill every n layers , Only infill where needed , Solid infill every n layers , Infill density , ... Hi dc42, just terminated my first print with 0.57w (a part with a lot of small and big circular holes) No problems at all. All holes are perfectly rounds and also external perimeters are very good. Yes, but my pc is at over 10m from the printer. So the cable lenght limits and also some hangs during the prints (probably electrical noises) conviced me to use the useful iamburny web interface. I use the local version with a minimal xammp http server and all my prints are from SD (so i can use the pc for all what i need, and i can also poweroff or set the standby mode). I'm wondering if instead of the rectangular cuts for the current vertical mdf parts, we can't only make screw holes that allow to fix the bed to bearings by using 2 PLA printed parts. In this way we can definitively eliminate all the parts in MDF. Robertoby gammasistemi - Ormerod
When I started to print I had big problems to stick the PLA. I've tested all kinds of acetone, vinegar, isopropilic alchool,... No success until I've tried the nail polish of my wife (with acetone) used over kapton tape. Today I use only this, also for ABS. dc42, I've disconnected and reconnected the 6way, ATX supply and duet thermistor connector (thermistor is soldered), Disconnected USB connector (not used because I use web connection, but still connected from yesterday when I've charged 0.57r fw). Hi dc42, I've loaded the .057r version and I'm tryng to print ABS at 240°C for the extruder and 110°C for the bed. If I set the head temperature at 240°C from the web interface, i see that the temperature reaches the setpoint, but after few minutes the temperature go low. This appear to be not recoverable and i must reset the duet to restore functionality. There is a maximum limit for the temperaby gammasistemi - Ormerod

Simone, io uso il nastro kapton e subito prima della stampa eseguo una energica pulizia con acetone (quello per unghie di mia moglie...sshhh ). Dopo avere pulito non toccare con le mani. Mando in temperatura il piatto e l'estrusore (190°C estrusore e 60°il piatto) Verifico che non ci sia filo che fuoriesca dall'estrusore ed effettuo poi il posizionamento della testina mettendogli sotto un foglioby gammasistemi - Ormerod

Hotend temperature is almost stable at 21.2°C but there are occasional excursions (one single read every 8..15secs) to 18.6°C and 23.5°C (every 8..20secs). I use the excellent iamburny web interface in local mode copled with latest useful dc42 firmware. As local server I use xampp installed on my pc (only light web server) , so I can start the server only when I need to print. The configuration is very simple: - create a reprap folder into xampp/htdocs - copy all files and folders needed github into reprap folder - edit reprap.htm and replace allby gammasistemi - Ormerod
Ray, I'd like to test this feature so I've connected an auxiliary fan to the FAN0 output. I'm trying now to use Cura but I can not get a proper slicing (i think that extruded filament is much more than it should be). Can you share your settings for Cura or give me advice ? Thanks. Se hai aggiornato il fw con le ultime versioni .057, per il PLA dovresti impostare una temperatura di circa 190°C e circa 65°c per il piatto. Controlla la sonda di temperatura dell'estrusore: se a temperatura ambiente leggi circa 18-20°Cby gammasistemi - Ormerod
