I've been enjoying success (no warping) by brushing diluted PVA glue (50:50 water PVA) onto the glass plate, and allowing to dry. I also used Slic3er to add a 5mm 'brim' around the base of each model. Before the print I give the bed a quick wipe down with methylated spirits (and the store the lint-free cloth I used in one of the plastic bags the Ormerod parts came in - just to keep the smell downby Dave_Longdown - Ormerod
Hiya guys, I've made a few prints now. Of the two that have been taller than 15mm, I have some layers offset in the Y-axis so I shall be giving my Y Belt some attention a bit later on. (I will also try printing the same model again, but at a lower speed) I've just flicked the belt and the noise was more 'pong' than 'ping'. But it gave me an idea: I have a free app called 'G-Strings Guitar Tuneby Dave_Longdown - Ormerod
>Even if the supplied SD card seem to work I would snap it in half and burn it That is a very, very good idea. However, try this: Get a good microSD card, and then use some super glue and Kapton tape to attach it to the supplied (bad) SD card so that it is now twice as long. Why? Because it makes it much easier to insert and remove the good SD card from the Ormerod! Obviously mark the 'bad' Sby Dave_Longdown - Ormerod
Hi Paul, I haven't got an answer for you, I'm afraid. I take it that you have edited the 'circle.g' file, and not just used the existing one? The instructions talk about moving the head and setting each point with P0, P1, P2 and P3, but really it's easier to make a not of the Z position at each point and then put that in the circle.g file. (See the 'paper technique' below - this means you can uby Dave_Longdown - Ormerod
Hi guys, Here's another video of the 'wet process' for applying Kapton tape - it's the same concept as the video above. I've just tried it myself, and it is much easier than applying the tape 'dry'! After applying the tape to the wet glass, use a 'squidgy' to remove air bubbles. I actually used a piece of polysterene from a disposable plate, cut to 30 x 70mm, just because I had it to haby Dave_Longdown - Ormerod
My nozzle was also higher than the ir sensor, so I placed two washers on each of the screws that hold the MDF spacer and the hot end. I too have a wobbly x-runner. Other solutions are outlined in other threads, but mine was to place a shim under the x-runner bearing.by Dave_Longdown - Ormerod
Hi, I only completed my Ormerod assembly today. I have just used the date trick. After setting the date to the beginning of December 2013, the 'Don't install drivers / Install anyway' dialogue box still pops up every twenty seconds or so, for several minutes, but then will eventually bring up a smaller dialogue box 'Arduino: Install'. I clicked install, and after one more appearance by the firsby Dave_Longdown - Ormerod
Generally, the components were well organised into little bags, and the process of checking that everything was there was straightforward. It's easier to take a red crayon to the printed checklist than it is to my laptop screen! : D A few suggestions for the instructions: Required equipment: Please include the Pencil Sharpener in the list of required equipment, so that it can be procured beforeby Dave_Longdown - Ormerod
